The emergency session is rescheduled for the following week, the board reeling from Hartwell's arrest and the sudden vacancy at the head of the table, and in the chaos that follows I throw every resource I have left into a single objective: take control of Morriston before the people who funded Hartwell's betrayal find someone else willing to sit in his chair.
It does not go uncontested.
"They're consolidating against you," Dominic says, dropping a fresh stack of intelligence onto the desk between us, his expression tight with the particular focus he gets when the danger has stopped being theoretical. "Three board members who abstained during the original vote have started meeting privately with representatives from Thorne Holdings. Camille is positioning herself to inherit influence the moment the dust settles, and she has the capital behind her to make it happen quickly."
