Chapter 5 - Episode 4 - [The Unseen Gaze]

They thought this was just a stop to rest…

but something was already waiting for them.

After earning some money, the five of them left the arena.

At first, everything felt normal.

But then…

Something felt wrong.

It was subtle.

Like… someone was watching them.

No sound.

No shadow.

Nothing visible.

And yet…

The feeling wouldn't go away.

At first, they ignored it.

But as time passed—

While eating, walking, or resting—

That presence remained.

Like something…

was following them.

Each of them reacted differently.

J smirked.

"Someone wants to fight me?"

K stayed relaxed, distracted by the surroundings.

B still smiled…

but her eyes grew cautious.

Loy said nothing—

but kept watching over everyone.

Ray slowed her steps.

Controlled her breathing.

Listening…

for another presence.

Then…

Something changed.

Their footsteps—

no longer sounded like metal.

But… bones.

Creatures around them…

started disappearing.

One by one.

Silently.

By nightfall,

they entered a cinema.

Hoping to relax.

Lights were still on.

Shops looked normal.

But…

No one was there.

It felt like

this place had never been alive.

The hologram screen began playing.

A spaceship.

Landing on this planet.

No passengers.

No life.

Ray frowned.

"This… isn't right."

The story…

was becoming identical

to their situation.

K kept eating popcorn.

But the taste…

was wrong.

B shifted.

Her seat was sticky… and smelled rotten.

Loy noticed—

the air was getting… lighter.

Too light.

Ray realized.

"We're too late…"

Snap.

Everything froze.

They turned.

Something was there.

A severed head.

Rotten.

Eyeless.

And yet…

it was looking at them.

A long, unnatural arm

threw it aside.

Casually.

As if it had just finished playing.

The screen stopped.

The final scene…

was this very cinema.

The wind stopped.

Silence.

K's popcorn…

began to break apart.

Revealing…

moving eyeballs.

He vomited instantly.

The illusion shattered.

This wasn't a city.

It was a graveyard.

Seats… were corpses.

Tables… were bones and flesh.

A sound echoed.

Crunch… crunch…

Not from one direction.

But everywhere.

Something moved.

Slowly.

Bone.

Flesh.

Dragging through darkness.

Click.

Lights out.

A voice spoke.

Soft.

Disappointed.

"Did you enjoy watching your own story…?"

"Little prey."

"I've seen countless like you."

"But your scent…"

"It's irresistible."

A quiet laugh.

"You can run…"

"I prefer it that way."

"It makes the meat taste better."

The screen…

shattered.
