Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Let’s Test It

Shuya gave up trying to figure it out.

He'd been a random anime watcher before transmigrating—what the hell did he know about Nen? After waking up as a Specialist, he'd just copied whatever Gon and Killua did in the show and winged it like a total amateur.

If this were online, people would roast him: "Bro, have you even been a Nen user? Stop making shit up."

He activated Gyo, focusing his aura around his eyes, and looked at Saeko.

Since she wasn't hiding her aura with Zetsu, he could see it clearly. Her Nen reserves had jumped a ton since yesterday.

No wonder his own aura spiked so hard last night. He'd assumed it was from wrecking Shizuka in bed—after all, his Vows and Limitations were based on marriage vows, so that kind of "training" made perfect sense for fast growth. That was also why he never pushed Shizuka to train hard; under the contract, lazing around actually boosted her Nen faster than normal practice.

He just never expected most of last night's surge had come from Saeko.

Guess manifesting a weapon with real power really does give Conjurers a massive Nen boost.

"Whatever," Shuya said. "Let's test it."

"Test… it?" Saeko tilted her head, confused.

"I was planning to wait until you'd fully mastered Ten, Zetsu, and Ren before teaching you the extensions of Hatsu," he explained. "But since you've already awakened a Conjuration-type ability, I might as well tell you now."

"Once a Nen user has solid control of their aura, there are two main ways to keep getting stronger.

"First: learn the advanced applications of the Four Major Principles—like En (the upgrade to Ten), In (the upgrade to Zetsu), or Ko (the upgrade to Ren).

"Second: figure out your own Nen type, then develop abilities that fit it."

Shuya materialized a sheet of paper and a pen, then drew a perfect hexagon and labeled each corner.

Enhancement.

Transmutation.

Conjuration.

Specialization.

Manipulation.

Emission.

"Enhancers can push their aura to the absolute limit to strengthen their body or weapons.

"Transmuters can change the properties of their aura—like turning it into electricity or making it sticky and bouncy like gum.

"Conjurers can create real objects or tools with crazy abilities, just like your Reizan.

"Specialists don't have a fixed pattern—any ability that doesn't fit the other five goes here.

"Manipulators control objects or people with aura, basically real-life telekinesis.

"Emitters can release huge amounts of aura and keep it strong even when it's far away from their body."

He tapped each label as he explained.

"So… I'm a Conjurer?" Saeko asked, nodding at the obvious.

"Not necessarily," Shuya shook his head. "You can still develop abilities from other types, but the success rate and power will be lower than if it matched your actual type."

"Then how do I find out which type I am?" she asked, leaning forward.

"That's what the test is for." Shuya grinned. "There are two main ways. The first is the personality test—something a battle-hardened Nen user came up with after fighting tons of people.

"Enhancers: simple-minded, straightforward.

Transmuters: moody, love lying.

Manipulators: stubborn, always think they're right.

Emitters: short-tempered, careless.

Specialists: lone wolves with natural leader vibes.

Conjurers: neurotic."

He shrugged. "It's just a rough guide—don't take it too seriously. People change. If someone's personality stayed exactly the same their whole life, that would be weird."

"Still, it's useful for guessing an opponent's type before a fight so you can get the upper hand. They're not exactly gonna hand you their Nen profile."

"If you want the real, accurate answer, there's the water divination test—the most popular and reliable method in the Nen world."

"Wait here."

He popped into the kitchen, grabbed a glass, filled it with water, then plucked a leaf from a potted plant on the balcony and floated it on top.

Back at the table, he slid it over. "Water divination is simple. Fill a glass, put a leaf on the surface, then pour your aura into the water and watch what happens.

"Enhancers make the water level rise and overflow.

Transmuters change the taste of the water.

Emitters change the color.

Manipulators move the leaf.

Conjurers create crystal-like formations in the water.

"Specialists? Could be anything—leaf burns, leaf rots, whatever."

Shuya looked at Saeko with a playful smile.

"So, Saeko-senpai… wanna find out what type you are? Let's test it."
