Chapter 15 - Elio Dead?

Watching both sides from inside the magic lamp, Michael was completely dumbfounded too. At first he thought one side was the villain and one side was the hero. But now, seeing both sides so heavy-hearted, no matter the outcome, they wouldn't be able to feel happy.

"System, you tell me, who's the villain? Who's the hero? Why is it I keep looking and still don't get anything at all? Those three people really did want to kill someone, that's an undeniable fact. Even if deep down they weren't willing either, responsibility made them have to do it…"

"These two people, looking at them, are just a normal family who has no idea what's going on and got dragged into a huge mess. This scene of a small family whose child is barely born about to fall apart is also extremely pitiful."

Michael sighed, he knew good and evil in this world were mostly very hard to distinguish. Only cases that were too inhumane could be recognized right away.

Conflicts within big factions happen a lot, losing lives is no small matter. But to say who's good and who's bad is still really hard because their stances are fundamentally different.

[You've only seen a few dialogues and one short fight. So what can you understand? Might as well wait until you perform the wish and gradually investigate what the root of the matter is.]

The system, of course, wouldn't answer what Michael actually wanted to hear. It was a support system, not a genie's personal babysitter.

"Investigate? You mean me? Then no thanks, I'm just a bit curious. Do you really think I care whether they're good people or bad people?"

Michael curled his lip and tossed this random thought aside. He liked gossiping but had never considered those things important. He watched mostly out of curiosity, and when bored, he'd stop watching.

His attention was still a bit focused on the chosen one. He wanted to know if this powerless weakling could use luck to survive amidst the demigods' battle.

Raphael held the Celestial Sword, staring intently at the enemy to find an opportunity. While creating a teleport point, Rias also drew a different type of magic circle compared to the two from earlier.

Third technique - Starstep Dash!

Fourth technique – Magic clone!

Raphael suddenly vanished, leaving behind only a clone that looked like it was made of stardust. This clone wasn't Rias's technique, it was his.

Instantly, he appeared behind Ignivar, raising the Celestial Sword high and swinging fast with speed that seemed impossible to block.

Second technique – Heavenly fire protection!

Elio's whole body burst into flames as he charged forward like he was insane, using his own two arms raised up to block the strike for Ignivar.

His two arms were cut clean off by the sword. Blood splattered, his face twisted from trying to hold back the pain but his body didn't retreat even an inch.

Inside the magic lamp, Michael couldn't help but let go of the steering wheel to clap and praise. This scene was truly rare. A leader like this was worthy of others following.

"Damn, way too cool. Giving up both his arms to block a sword for his subordinate. I give you the title 'Boss of The Year'."

Someone else got their arms chopped off yet Michael was there clapping and praising nonstop. Was it twisted humanity or was his way of looking at the world fundamentally different from normal people?

He hadn't even praised for a second before Raphael surprised him again. Behind Raphael appeared another Raphael. Another sword swung out, this time using first technique to directly cut Elio's body in half.

The sword energy didn't stop but continued flying toward Glacior and Ignivar. At the same time, the stardust clone also swung its sword, sending out a powerful sword energy wave from the opposite direction.

Although the two sword energies weren't as strong as Raphael's first technique, combined their effect was no less impressive.

The two were maintaining the fusion technique. If they switched to a defensive technique right now, they would suffer severe backlash. They could only redirect the snowflakes and hellfire from attacking Rias to attacking these two sword energies.

The two sword energies weren't destroyed but were blocked and had most of their power worn down before hitting the two of them. Although weakened significantly, they still left deep wounds on both their backs and chests.

Raphael's figure suddenly vanished and then swapped places with the stardust clone. His hand gripped the sword so tightly blood stained the hilt and then he immediately swung out an extremely powerful sword energy. Rias understood and immediately drew a magic circle to support him.

First technique – Celestial Slash!

First technique - Amplify Sigil!

The extremely terrifying sword energy shot at a speed that couldn't be outrun, heading straight for the two of them. Raphael wanted to use this sword to completely destroy the fusion technique of the two and also seriously injure them.

This strike was the last one that could be used if they all wanted to survive. If it achieved the above goal, then the three of them really had a chance to escape. But if not… Then there was only the method Rias mentioned earlier to gamble on.

Elio, whether he was a smart leader or the muscle-brained type, was unclear. Even with only his upper half left, his whole body burning, he still bravely flew toward the sword energy like a shooting star, sacrificing himself to protect his people.

And of course with that body, there was obviously no way to block that terrifying sword energy. He collided violently with the sword energy using his head, as if to tell everyone: "Don't worry, my head is very hard."

The surrounding space shook. The winds created by the collision were so strong they formed whirlwinds that swept away all the dust and soil.

Though it nullified half the sword energy's power, Elio's body was destroyed so completely that not even ash remained. What was left of him was faint golden sparks drifting in the air.
