Chapter 201 - Haymaker!

Peter, of course, wouldn't be so amateurish as to let himself be hit by the Destroyer's laser out of sheer carelessness.

In fact, long before the Destroyer even turned around, his newly awakened Observation Haki had already predicted this entire assault.

Not only that, but through his Observation Haki, he had also directly determined the exact damage the opponent could potentially inflict upon him—while it would cause him injuries, it was fundamentally incapable of instantly killing him.

Relying on the power of the Horse Talisman, he was entirely capable of instantly restoring his health to full right after taking the brunt of this laser!

It was precisely based on this judgment that he chose to take the opponent's laser head-on. As for why he wanted to do this, the reason was also exceptionally simple: he couldn't wait any longer to test his newly acquired skill—the Haymaker!

The reality turned out exactly as he had anticipated. He took the entire, undivided laser straight to the chest. Because he sustained intense damage, the Grit within his body filled up completely within the blink of an eye.

You could say his fury gauge was maxed out!

Looking at the Destroyer's head-tilting movement, Peter could practically see Loki's slack-jawed, dumbfounded expression across the vast distance of space, causing him to irresistibly open his mouth and say:

"What? Did you genuinely think a single laser could instantly kill me?"

"I was just playing with you, lil' bro!"

"Next up, it's my turn again~"

As he spoke, he fiercely took half a step forward, the ground beneath his feet fracturing inch by inch because of it. Following that, he retracted his right fist to his waist, his entire form beginning to accumulate power like a precious bow stretched to its absolute limit.

Accompanied by this movement, the electric glare of the Lightning Release Armor and the golden radiance of his Grit began to visibly converge onto his fist at a speed noticeable to the naked eye.

The air at this exact moment even emitted a strange, sizzling sound due to being compressed.

As Peter's aura continuously climbed, and the golden Grit on his body kept condensing and compressing over his right fist, everyone gradually discovered that a phantom had visibly formed over his knuckles.

It was the head of some animal resembling a wolverine. This creature, condensed entirely out of raw energy, was so lifelike that a single glance irresistibly gave birth to a fierce wave of oppression within everyone's hearts.

Finally, Peter twisted his waist, rotated his body, and threw the punch—the entire movement flowing seamlessly like water. It was exactly like a precious bow pulled into a full moon suddenly releasing its string.

The heavy punch thrown caused the air at this split second to be ground into a bright crimson hue from the sheer friction, and the piercing sonic boom sounded like the furious roar of an ancient primordial beast, stimulating everyone's eardrums to the point of sharp pain.

The moment the single punch was thrown, a massive, golden, cone-shaped shockwave stretching a full hundred meters visibly surfaced in front of him.

At the absolute center of this shockwave, the golden wolverine condensed over his right fist instantly expanded tens and hundreds of times over.

This terrifying, ferocious beast gaped its maw—which was filled entirely with jagged fangs—and snapped down fiercely toward the Destroyer situated at the front center.

At this exact split second, even though Loki was situated all the way back in Asgard, he felt a violent wave of heart palpitations.

That kind of terror originating from biological instinct caused his body to begin trembling uncontrollably, and he made the decision to counterattack without a second thought.

Following his manipulation, the Destroyer similarly raised its fist, attempting to block this incoming assault.

The exact split second the fist collided with that wolverine phantom, both heaven and earth shifted color because of it.

A horrific energy impact frantically expanded toward the surroundings. Apart from Natasha, who was shielded behind Peter and remained completely unaffected, everyone else—whether they were Earth agents like Phil or Asgardian warriors like Sif—was sent flying backward out of control without a single exception.

Quite a few individuals were merely grazed by the leaking aftermath of this impact, yet huge mouthfuls of fresh blood sprayed from their mouths.

But even so, Thor and the others refused to close their eyes. Even though their eyes were stimulated to the point of weeping tears incessantly by the blinding white light erupting from the center of the battlefield, they still strove hard, wanting to clearly see the outcome of this clash.

Finally, under their tense gazes, the massive frame of the Destroyer began to fall back.

First, its two feet plowed long, deep trenches into the ground, and subsequently, its form was completely lifted and sent flying by the horrific impact. That building-block-like structural composition began to collapse inch by inch under the effect of the terrifying true damage, scattering all over the place!

The intense booming resonance plunged everyone present into a momentary state of deafness. The world seemed to have been pressed with a mute button at this exact moment, leaving behind nothing but a piercing, buzzing ring...

An unknown amount of time passed.

Finally, the white light vanished, and the buzzing ring dissipated. Everyone was finally permitted to see the outcome of this clash.

When they clearly took in the scene—which could well be described as "tragic"—everyone's mouths subconsciously formed an O-shape.

They saw that a cone-shaped fracture line spanning a range of at least three hundred meters had been left before Peter.

The land surrounding the fracture line was completely shattered into a spiderweb pattern, while the region right at the dead center was plowed into a terrifying trench.

Over the trench, charred blue smoke was still faintly wafting, and the sand and soil at the edges had actually undergone a phenomenon of crystallization due to the high-temperature impact.

As for that suit of Destroyer armor, it was currently completely broken into a scattered mess across the ground. Over those scattered armor plates, pothole-like marks were visible everywhere.

Even the energy core right at the center—a diamond-shaped golden energy mass—was currently completely exposed to the open air.

This energy mass was currently spreading out threads of golden silk line, attempting to reconnect the Uru metal armor plates scattered across the ground.

Clearly, if these silk lines were permitted to reconnect the armor plates, the Destroyer armor would be able to reassemble and slowly recover.

But... would Peter give it an opportunity like that?

The answer to this question was, without a shadow of a doubt, a resounding no.

Without waiting for the surrounding crowd to recover from their shock, Peter shifted his form, instantly surfacing right before the reassembling energy core.

He quietly extended a single finger, and over that fingertip, not only was there a jumping, thunderous glare, but there were golden runes flashing frantically as well.

Without a doubt, Peter had infused the divine power runes unique to his Dual-God Resonance Mode into this single Hell Stab.

Puff!

Accompanied by a dull sound, Peter's fingertip instantly pierced straight through the Destroyer's energy core. Following the insertion of his finger, those golden runes rapidly spread onto the surface of the energy core from the inside out like a virus, completely locking down the Destroyer's energy core exactly like a sealing technique formulation.

The exact split second the seal was completed, Loki discovered in utter disbelief that his mental connection with the Destroyer had been cut off instantly!

"This... how is this possible!" Loki's voice completely shifted in pitch due to excessive astonishment.

This was the Destroyer! A divine weapon forged by Odin to combat the Celestials! Granted, because he didn't know divine power himself and hadn't personally donned this armor to battle, he had only exerted about a fraction of this armor's power. But even so, it shouldn't be destroyed by a Midgardian, let alone have his mental connection with the Destroyer cut off!

Refusing to believe in this curse, Loki hastily utilized the Gungnir in his hand to manifest a projection of the scene. But the image presented within this projection once again caused him to feel his vision go dark.

Because within the image, as Peter reached out his hand to touch that mass of energy core, his Destroyer...

That massive Destroyer of his, unexpectedly...

Vanished out of thin air!
