Everyone was doing something different for a different purpose. Overall, the atmosphere was lively, while the two main figures of the party sat in the center of the hall with their closest family members, smiles never leaving their faces.
Hours after the celebration, late at night after everyone had left and the engagement party was finally over, Wang Han and Lu Xian went to a room inside the compound. There, Wang Han gave her the technique he had promised, along with a green pill, saying,
"This is the Phoenix Flame Technique. You can replace your technique with it. You'll immediately notice the difference in levels between them, as your Qi will be greatly purified and you'll become stronger." Wang Han spoke confidently under Lu Xian's curious and eager gaze. She quickly grabbed the book and the pill before asking:
"And what's the point of this pill?"
Wang Han answered, reclining comfortably on a sofa in the corner of the room.
"It's just an ordinary Qi pill. Replacing your technique will purify your Qi, as I told you before, and this will give you a very strong boost that will help you advance in the level. However, this doesn't guarantee a complete breakthrough. To make it 100% guaranteed and not let such an opportunity slip away, I gave you this Qi pill. By using it, you can reliably break through to the Eight-Star trainee level."
Wang Han finished his explanation, before turning to his fiancée and saying with a wide smile that revealed his gleaming white teeth:
"So, what do you think of your fiancé? Isn't he incredibly intelligent, bordering on a genius, my dear?"
"Yes, yes, you narcissist, you've ruined the atmosphere as usual. I was actually starting to feel grateful to you for a moment, but you managed to make that feeling vanish in no time." Lu Xian rolled her eyes and said in a monotone voice, before raising her fist with a smile that masked her burning anger, continuing:
"And don't call me 'my dear' I have a name."
"Alright, my dear" Wang Han replied with a smile, enjoying provoking Lu Xian.
"Ha, I won't waste my energy on you. I'll start training. You can do whatever you want in the meantime."
Lu Xian sat on the bed, seemingly unable to wait to experience the effects of a skill of this caliber, or perhaps simply unable to tolerate Wang Han. Whatever the reason, Lu Xian began studying the book, while Wang Han continued to stare at her, his eyes never leaving hers, his mind seemingly lost in thought.
An hour passed in this manner. Lu Xian had closed her eyes some time ago and had begun circulating her qi according to the method described in the book.
Another hour passed, and Lu Xian swallowed the pill while still in the middle of her training, a sign that she had successfully switched techniques.
As soon as Wang Han saw her swallow the pill, he finally looked away with a sigh, staring at the ceiling for a moment before thinking with a smile.
'Looks like she'll break through soon. I have to get past her soon. It's not right to let my fiancée be stronger than me, is it? Hahaha.'
Moments later, a flash of light shone, its center was Lu Xian. She opened her eyes, her joy almost overflowing, a radiant smile on her face as she exclaimed,
