"You're not from here," he said, blocking Seris' path.
Seris didn't stop. "Observant."
Riven smirked. "And you're not impressed."
"No," she said simply.
That hit harder than insult.
Riven's flame sparked slightly. "You think you're better?"
Seris stopped then—finally looking at him.
"I think you're controlled," she said.
Riven's smirk faded.
"And that makes you predictable."
Silence.
Kael watched from a distance, arms crossed.
Lira leaned closer. "He's going to take that personally."
Kael nodded. "Good."
