Chapter 8 - Ch. 8 A Punch, First Blood!

"Erik, are you okay?"

Unbothered by the stunned looks around him, Leon walked over at a calm, steady pace and offered Erik a hand.

"I'm fine," Erik muttered, a little embarrassed.

He hadn't expected to mess up in front of someone younger, and the hit to his pride was obvious as he took Leon's hand.

Leon pulled him up effortlessly.

Erik hadn't realized the kid was this strong. Sure, he knew Leon could fire light beams and move at incredible speeds—Charles had shown him the file—but nowhere did it mention this kind of raw, monstrous strength.

"Erik, keep an eye on Bradley. Leave this guy to me."

"No, Leon." Erik shook his head, eyes narrowing. "That guy's a real beast. Bloodthirsty. Dangerous."

Leon might be powerful—he'd just dropped Sabretooth with a single punch—but a real fight wasn't just about strength.

Especially not against someone like him.

Erik had seen killers before. This one? Different. A butcher drenched in blood. The kind that didn't hesitate. The kind that didn't stop.

"Trust me, Erik," Leon said with a calm smile, almost casual. "He's nothing to worry about."

Without waiting for a reply, he walked straight toward Sabretooth.

Erik hesitated.

If Charles were here, he would've stopped Leon without a second thought.

But Erik… he wasn't Charles.

Maybe this was exactly what the kid needed—real combat, real danger.

And he'd be watching. If anything went wrong, he'd step in. No way he'd let the kid die.

Still… a part of him respected it.

That composure. That fearlessness. That quiet confidence.

Relentless. Unshaken. Unforgiving.

That was how warriors were made.

A wet, ragged cough cut through the silence.

Sabretooth staggered to his feet, looking like death itself. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, his chest visibly caved in from the earlier blow.

He tore open his shirt.

The wound across his torso was gruesome—flesh torn apart, bone nearly exposed. The kind of injury that would've killed anyone instantly.

"Well…"

He wiped the blood from his mouth, a twisted grin spreading across his face.

"That was one hell of a punch. But so what?"

As he spoke, the muscles in his chest began to twitch.

Shift.

Rebuild.

The wound closed at a terrifying speed.

Within seconds, his body was completely restored—as if nothing had happened.

Only the bloodstains remained.

He casually yanked the knife from his gut and tossed it aside.

Erik's expression darkened.

So that's why nothing worked earlier.

A healing factor.

That changed everything.

In the distance, Zero lay unconscious, unmoving.

"You reminded me what pain feels like," Sabretooth growled, voice dripping with madness. "So I've decided… I'll make you suffer before I kill you."

He pointed a clawed finger at Leon.

Then dropped to all fours.

And charged.

"Leon!" Erik shouted.

"I got this!" Leon replied.

But he was already moving.

By the time the words left his mouth, Leon had already burst forward.

A blur. A streak. Gone.

Even Erik struggled to follow—no, he couldn't see him at all.

Leon could move at over 375 meters per second—more than seven times speed of Sound.

But He decided to hold back.

Whoosh!

In an instant, he was right in front of Sabretooth.

The air hit first—a violent pressure wave that forced the breath out of Sabretooth's lungs.

Then—

A fist.

Fast.

Brutal.

Unavoidable.

Sabretooth's eyes widened—but not in fear.

With his insane healing factor, he never took damage seriously.

So he lunged forward, claws slashing toward Leon's chest.

Trade the hit. Land the hit.

That was his style.

But that only worked if the opponent could be hurt.

Leon?

Untouchable.

BOOM!

The punch landed.

Sabretooth's head snapped sideways as his entire body was launched like a missile, tearing across the ground before crashing violently into the dirt dozens of meters away.

Silence.

Up close, the damage was horrifying.

His skull had caved in.

Blood poured from his eyes, nose, mouth—everywhere.

Only his enhanced body had stopped his head from completely exploding.

That single punch carried the force of over seven tons.

Like being hit by a speeding truck.

Even Sabretooth couldn't take that.

He was out cold.

Flattened.

"…That's it?" Leon muttered, almost disappointed. "Didn't even get to test my power properly."

The first time, he hadn't seen what happened.

This time?

He saw everything.

Sabretooth hadn't just lost.

He'd been completely overwhelmed.

Leon glanced at him, watching as his head slowly began to regenerate.

His expression shifted, thoughtful.

With that kind of healing factor, beating him down with fists alone would take forever.

Was he supposed to turn him into minced meat?

…Yeah, that was a bit excessive.

Leon exhaled softly.

Then brought his hands together.

Light gathered.

Condensed.

A blade formed—pure, radiant energy.

A Sword of Light.

He began walking toward Sabretooth.

Fast healing or not… if the head came off cleanly, that should be the end.

This wasn't someone like Deadpool.

No coming back from that.

Right?

The only question was—

Could he do it in one strike?

He didn't have time to think further.

Sabretooth was already back on his feet.

Fully regenerated.

Completely feral.

Blood covered his face, but his grin remained—wide, twisted, inhuman.

A demon in flesh.

He charged again.

Leon moved.

Effortless. Precise.

He sidestepped at impossible speed, pivoted to Sabretooth's flank, tightened his grip—

And slashed.

Clang—

A flash.

Shlick—

Clean.

Perfect.

Sabretooth's head separated from his body in a single motion.

A fountain of blood erupted skyward.

The body stumbled forward two more steps… then collapsed.

The head flew through the air in a slow arc before landing on the grass, rolling to a stop like a discarded ball.

Still.

Silent.

Leon didn't stop.

He raised his hand—

Two beams of light shot out.

One pierced Zero's head.

The other, his heart.

No chances.

No survivors.

Leon lowered his hand, the battlefield finally quiet.

Cold. Decisive. Absolute.

To be continued…
