*Third Person POV*
After the agonizing sequence of events that had unfolded with terrifying intensity inside the grand assembly hall, Jacob found himself quietly escorted back through the castle's sprawling stone corridors.
Walking by his side was Beta Kulas, a man who currently kept his lips shut tightly, refusing to let a single word slip past his teeth. Kulas had been completely quiet since everything happened, his usual steady presence replaced by a heavy, suffocating silence that felt like a physical weight pressing down on both of them.
Within his chest, a tempest of shock and heartbreak was raging; he simply couldn't bring himself to believe that the person he considered his best friend, the man he called his brother, would ever do such a heinous thing to the pack.
No matter how many times he replayed the trial in his head, he couldn't understand, and his heart fiercely resisted believing, that Nilo was really the one who stole Jacob's sacred, invaluable necklace.
