Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: Taking Nanami and Haibara on a Mission

Chapter 55: Taking Nanami and Haibara on a Mission

Jujutsu High.

"Alex Moyan, today you will take the two new students on a mission."

Alex Moyan turned his head toward the voice; the speaker was none other than his teacher, Yaga Masamichi.

"The two underclassmen who arrived just a couple of days ago?"

Yaga Masamichi nodded.

"No problem. Where are they?" Alex Moyan agreed.

A short while later, Alex Moyan arrived at the school gate.

Two boys were dressed in Jujutsu High uniforms. One had a cold, stern expression, never cracking a smile, and possessed blonde hair—this was Nanami Kento.

The other was beaming with smiles, full of energy and sunny vitality; he was Haibara, who had appeared in the Hidden Inventory Arc, though he died later on.

Looking at these two, Alex Moyan really felt they had a strong 'CP' vibe together.

They were very much like a tsundere Vegeta and Son Goku.

"Let's go, underclassmen."

Alex Moyan called out and swept past the two of them.

He was a Special Grade, after all; he couldn't let his cool image slip.

Waiting for them outside the school was an Assistant Supervisor's sedan, along with one Grade One mission and one Grade 2 mission.

The Grade One was for Alex Moyan, while the Grade 2 was for Haibara and Nanami Kento.

"Understood!" The energetic Haibara agreed immediately upon hearing Alex Moyan's words, his response filled with enthusiasm.

He seemed to truly love this job and its responsibilities.

This was why people felt such regret after Haibara's eventual death.

Who wouldn't like a youth as passionate as fire, who always maintained an optimistic and positive attitude toward the work of a Jujutsu Sorcerer?

"Understood," Nanami Kento responded flatly.

He looked at Alex Moyan, whose mouth and nose were covered, his gaze sharp, appearing very serious, mysterious, and humorless.

Nanami Kento could sense that this upperclassman looked reliable, mature, and powerful at first glance.

Even though they both had white hair, that other upperclassman from last time was just...!

Whenever Nanami Kento thought of that upperclassman from last time, his mouth couldn't help but twitch.

The moment they met, he had called him Nanami (Nana-chan).

That nickname really gave him the chills!

Similarly, Haibara hadn't escaped Satoru's clutches either; he was called Little Hui.

In contrast to Nanami Kento's disdain, Haibara readily accepted the nickname Little Hui and even liked it quite a bit.

Because his family also liked to call him Little Hui, it meant the upperclassman treated him like family!

In Haibara's words, this was the care and love an upperclassman showed for him.

Nanami Kento was speechless; he certainly didn't like that name.

...They really were two extremes.

Soon, the three of them got into the car.

On the way, Alex Moyan sat by the window, staring out expressionlessly, maintaining his image as a tall, mysterious, and cool upperclassman.

In truth, Alex Moyan also really wanted to tease Nanami Kento for fun.

After all, teasing a tsundere was the most fun thing to do.

It gave him a strangely satisfying feeling.

As for Haibara's enthusiasm, teasing him wasn't as interesting.

Without that sense of contrast, it wasn't satisfying at all.

Haibara was sandwiched between Nanami Kento and Alex Moyan.

He took the initiative to start asking Alex Moyan about his experience in exorcising Cursed Spirits.

Hearing this question, Alex Moyan couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

Exorcising Cursed Spirits? What experience is needed? Isn't it just a matter of a single sentence?

As far as Alex Moyan was concerned, it would be better to just ask him how to kill Jujutsu Sorcererss.

He had plenty of experience in that; not long ago, he had wiped out several hundred Curse Users.

He had even toppled the Jujutsu World's other Special Grade Sorcerer, Yuki Tsukumo.

When it came to fighting Jujutsu Sorcererss, Alex Moyan could be said to be highly experienced and insightful.

But asking about experience in exorcising Cursed Spirits...

For the first time, Alex Moyan felt lost.

Does exorcising Cursed Spirits require experience?

It shouldn't, right? Don't they all just get one-shotted?

Alex Moyan began to recall the process of carrying out missions with Satoru and Geto Suguru.

A chibi-style scene appeared in Alex Moyan's mind.

Satoru: "Here I go, Rasengan!" (Actually, it was Blue). One-shotted!

Geto Suguru: Pulls out a Poke Ball. "Go, Slit-Mouthed Woman!" One-shotted. Then he rolled it into a ball and ate it.

Alex Moyan pondered for a moment.

Emmm, exorcising Cursed Spirits... aren't they all just casually one-shotted?

If you don't one-shot them, why even bother exorcising them!

Looking at Haibara's thirst for knowledge, Alex Moyan didn't know how to answer for a moment.

If he said he usually one-shotted them, it would crush the kid's little heart.

If he tried to say anything else, he couldn't find the words.

For this kind of experience, he should ask Utahime; she had the most experience in this area.

Exorcising Cursed Spirits while being evenly matched, or even slightly at a disadvantage.

She was a unique existence even within Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Alex Moyan was willing to call Utahime the strongest in exorcising Cursed Spirits—the strongest in terms of time spent.

"Your name is Haibara, right?" Alex Moyan spoke up, glancing indifferently at Haibara.

Haibara nodded: "Yes, Senior."

"Good, you've got spirit!"

"As a Jujutsu Sorcerer, you have to fight against dangerous Cursed Spirits every day. Are you... not afraid?"

"I'm not!" Haibara said loudly, his expression serious.

"It's very dangerous, you could lose your life. Are you sure you're not afraid?" Alex Moyan's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze dangerous.

Seeing Alex Moyan so serious and cold, Haibara couldn't help but hesitate for a moment, but he still said loudly and forcefully: "I'm not afraid!"

"I feel that being able to help others is a very meaningful thing!"

"Good! You've got spirit!" Alex Moyan gave him a thumbs up.

"Young man, I can tell at a glance that you are a pillar of talent!"

"Are you interested in becoming my lackey? You can serve me tea, pour water, do my laundry, and fold my quilts."

Hearing this, Haibara was stunned. Eh? Wait, shouldn't the next part be some validation from a senior or guidance from an upperclassman?

How did it turn into recruiting a lackey? This process isn't right.

"Sorry, my mistake."

Alex Moyan smiled somewhat awkwardly; he had almost exposed his inner goofball nature.

"Next, you will stay by my side and watch how I exorcise Cursed Spirits. How much you can learn will depend on yourselves."

Haibara nodded vigorously and immediately promised: "Don't worry, Senior, we will definitely work hard."

Little did they know, it would be over before they could even see clearly.

Alex Moyan nodded. "Not bad, Haibara, you're very motivated.

I appreciate underclassmen like you. If there's anything you don't understand in the future, feel free to ask me. I will answer everything I know."

"I expect it won't be long before you join the ranks of Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerers."

Hearing Alex Moyan's affirmation, Haibara appeared exceptionally excited.

He was so excited he almost lunged into Alex Moyan's arms.

"Really! Then Senior, what rank of Jujutsu Sorcerer are you?"

Alex Moyan smiled slightly, looking mysterious, and spoke with pure humblebragging.

"Eh, just average. I'm only a Special Grade."

"Special Grade?" Haibara was confused and looked at Nanami Kento, who had been silent by his side.

"Nanami, what rank is Special Grade? Is it very high?"

Nanami Kento was also shocked to hear the words 'Special Grade'!

"Special Grade!" Nanami Kento's eyes trembled slightly.

One must know that Special Grade represented the pinnacle of Jujutsu Sorcerers.

In the entire Jujutsu World, there were only two Special Grades. One was the long-established Special Grade, Yuki Tsukumo.

The other was the recently promoted Special Grade Sorcerer, Alex Moyan!

Nanami Kento was stunned, his gaze fixed somewhat blankly on the upperclassman beside him.

Could it be that this upperclassman was the legendary Alex Moyan, who had single-handedly crushed three major Curse User organizations?

Feeling Nanami Kento's surprised and shocked gaze...

Alex Moyan acted cool and aloof, appearing calm and indifferent on the surface.

In reality, he couldn't even describe how good he felt inside.

"Hahaha, this is the joy of showing off! It feels so damn good!"

Alex Moyan laughed inwardly, feeling absolutely wonderful.

No wonder the protagonists in the novels he read in his past life loved showing off, face-slapping, and playing the pig to eat the tiger so much—it really was satisfying!
