Chapter 243 - Chapter 243: reality gem

"How is this possible?!" The Commander looked at the image on the screen in shock. As the Commander, she knew that humans had actually gone extinct long ago, and the so-called Lunar Human Council on the Bunker was nothing more than an empty shell.

But what was going on with this human in the image before her?!

The Commander couldn't figure it out no matter how hard she tried. But as an android, protecting humans was her core directive. No matter where this human came from, the Commander had to mobilize everyone on the Bunker to protect this human.

"Wait!"

The Commander suddenly thought of something and hurriedly turned back to shout at the other androids: "Quickly notify the 2B squad to reach the human target's location immediately! Notify the nearby YoRHa units to rush to the target as well! No! Prepare a fighter jet! I'm going too!"

No matter where this human came from, barring any accidents, this would likely be the last human on Earth. They had to protect her well, even if it cost them their lives!

"For humanity! Glory to mankind!"

"For humanity! Glory to mankind!"

"It seems everything is proceeding smoothly."

Withdrawing her gaze, Fujino smiled and turned to look at the Flight Support Unit beside her:

"Pod, help me pull up the map of this area."

"Acknowledged."

Knowing that the person before it was a human, the pod quickly projected the entire map of the ruined factory.

"It seems 2B is arriving soon, but those teammates of hers are dead as doornails. What a pity..."

Looking at the single massive signal remaining on the map projected by the pod, Fujino found it amusing. As expected, apart from the protagonists, everyone else was basically cannon fodder.

"YoRHa unit member 2B is approaching the designated target. Please wait here, human, and do not act rashly."

"Understood." Fujino replied casually, but then, thinking of something, she asked the pod, "There's a combat exoskeleton here, right?"

"Use is not recommended. According to intelligence, non-YoRHa unit members cannot easily operate the combat exoskeleton."

"I see." Fujino cast a meaningful look at the pod, then turned her gaze toward the factory below. 2B had already entered the factory. However, Fujino remembered that there was still a large machine lifeform inside. Now that 9S wasn't there to control a combat exoskeleton to help 2B, she feared 2B wouldn't be able to deal with that large machine lifeform so easily.

"Oh, finally." Boom! No sooner had Fujino finished speaking than a loud crash came from not far away. A large machine lifeform suddenly appeared from outside the factory, smashing through it, and 2B happened to be exposed directly in front of the large machine lifeform.

"Large machine lifeform detected. Please proceed to a safe zone immediately." A warning sounded from the pod, but Fujino ignored it entirely, keeping her eyes fixed on 2B as she fought the large machine lifeform.

"Hehe~ 2B really lives up to the name. Those legs! That chest! And that butt! Oh my god, I'm dying!"

Fujino was completely excited. She wished she could rush up right now, smash the large machine lifeform to pieces with a single punch, and then take her cool 2B into her arms.

However, thinking of her subsequent plans, Fujino had to suppress the urge to act. Instead, she used her spiritual power to assist 2B; the pod wouldn't be able to detect spiritual power anyway.

"Host, you can purchase a reality gem to directly modify the cognition of the androids in this world. That way, you won't need to hide your special abilities." The system suddenly popped up.

"System? You can actually pop up on your own?" Fujino couldn't help but feel surprised. For so long, the system had never proactively offered her suggestions.

"Because the Host has met all the conditions for the final mission, the system's last auxiliary function has been activated," the system replied.

"The final mission? The one about finding one's true self? I almost forgot about it if you hadn't mentioned it!" Fujino said. She hadn't had any clues about that mission previously, so she had just left it aside and hadn't paid much attention to it, almost forgetting it over time.

"You said I've already met the conditions for the final mission? What's going on? The mission panel still shows it as incomplete."

"The Host has the conditions to complete the mission, but has not utilized these conditions to complete the final mission, so the mission panel still shows it as unachieved," the system replied.

"What does that even mean?" Fujino rolled her eyes speechlessly. "Just tell me what those conditions actually are."

"Please discover them yourself," the system replied.

"So this is your so-called auxiliary function? You've been talking for a while and haven't given me any useful information." Fujino suddenly wanted to drag the system out and beat it up.

"Forget it, I'll just look slowly. Since you said I already possess the conditions to complete the mission, it should refer to the people around me or something else."

Fujino said, already having some guesses in her heart. The system suddenly popped up today, so she could infer that the factors allowing her to meet the mission conditions must have been achieved in the last few days. These conditions could refer to some people or some objects. Objects seemed unlikely; Fujino hadn't encountered or found anything these past few days. Since that was the case, the scope narrowed down to people.

Then, the most likely candidates were Touko or Nanami, as they were the two who had recently appeared by Fujino's side. Judging by the world she was in, that was the most probable scenario.

"Never mind, let's talk about it later. System, open the shop. Let me see that reality gem you mentioned."

The familiar system shop appeared before Fujino's eyes. It had been some time since she had browsed the system shop.

"Why are there so many more items?" Fujino keenly noticed that there were actually quite a few more items in the system shop.

"This is Migeiko?!" Looking at the familiar icon in the system shop, Fujino couldn't help but exclaim. Fortunately, time stops when opening the system shop, otherwise, the pod would have come to ask Fujino about it.

"System, this Migeiko can be purchased?!"

The Migeiko that Fujino saw was not ordinary Migeiko, but one that was at the same level as the one she currently possessed—an existence that transcended all things!

She hadn't seen it in the shop before and had assumed that this level of Migeiko could only be obtained through lucky draws. She hadn't expected it to be available for direct purchase now, although the price was ridiculously high; the unfathomable number alone spoke to the value of this Migeiko.

"These items became available for purchase when the system's final auxiliary function was activated. The reality gem recommended earlier is also at this level, but it is not the reality gem from the Marvel World that the Host is familiar with," the system said. Then, the system shop before Fujino underwent a series of changes, and a large number of items disappeared, leaving only a few item icons.

"These items are on the same level as the Migeiko the Host possesses. It is recommended that the Host purchase them all. In doing so, combined with the Host's existing conditions, you will be able to completely fulfill the system's final mission."

"So many? I can only afford to buy one with my current points!"

Looking at the items in the system shop, excluding the Migeiko that Fujino already possessed, the others were the reality gem, space gem, mind gem, soul gem, power gem, and time gem, which shared the same names as the six Infinity Gems from the Marvel World.

Besides these, there was an item named with three question marks. Its price was the sum of the points of the six major gems, and it could not be purchased yet; it seemed it would only unlock after Fujino had purchased all six major gems.

Could it be something like the Heart of the Universe? Fujino couldn't help but guess.

After all, it was one thing that the six gems sold in the system shop shared the same names as the six Infinity Gems from the Marvel World, but the last big one felt like the Heart of the Universe no matter how she thought about it.

"This is too expensive. With my current points, I can actually only buy one gem?"

Fujino raised an eyebrow looking at the prices of the gems. The points she currently possessed could be described as terrifying, but even so, it was just enough to barely buy one reality gem.

However, Fujino felt that spending so many points shouldn't be a loss. After all, it was on the same level as Migeiko. Since Migeiko was so powerful, the reality gem of the same level certainly wouldn't be bad.

"System... purchase the reality gem!"

After a brief hesitation, Fujino purchased the reality gem. The system said it was one of the items to complete the final mission, so Fujino would have to buy it sooner or later. Although her points would be almost wiped out after this purchase, it didn't matter to Fujino, who now possessed the Main God Space. It just meant the Reincarnators in the Main God Space would have to work a little harder, and she would be able to earn them back before long.

As the Main God Space was Fujino's property, the Reincarnators under her command also belonged to her. Therefore, the people those Reincarnators killed would generate points for Fujino; this was one of the reasons why Fujino had purchased the Main God Space in the first place.

A gem emitting an intensely red radiance appeared before Fujino.

Fujino suddenly felt a sense of dry-mouthed thirst, along with an uncontrollable impulse to devour the gem before her.

The core in her heart suddenly erupted with an extremely brilliant light, which passed through Fujino's body and shone onto the reality gem in front of her. Under the radiance, the reality gem vanished, entering Fujino's core to begin merging with it.

At this moment, Fujino's face was filled with satisfaction. Wisps of red light emerged from beneath her skin, and her body, which had long been deprived of it, felt filled with power. Fujino was now in an unprecedented state.

It felt as if a single thought of hers could destroy countless worlds, shatter established rules, and then establish new ones. And it wasn't just that; she could do even more—more than she could ever imagine.

Profound and mysterious, subtle and marvelous.

It was simply indescribable.

"What a long-lost feeling!"

Fujino clutched her chest with one hand, feeling the supreme power flowing through her entire body; she was exhilarated!

"Modify! World!"

A dazzling red light emerged around Fujino. At that moment, the entire world looked like a child's building blocks in her eyes; she could easily destroy, modify, or even do more.

"Then let us begin! Turn this world into my paradise!"

Fujino laughed excitedly, and the immense power of the reality gem, having merged with her core, began to take effect, changing the world according to her will!
