A bright, wintertime morning. The weather was cold, but still it was manageable!
Few people were sitting on public chairs, chatting and gossiping with each other.
"Do you know, that the Dragon of Eternity has awakened!!" said a man, his arms folded yet his eyes revealed that he was excited.
"Yes, the Great Dragon has awakened this year again to save the lives of humans from the monsters! I just want to know who would be called as heroes this year!!" said another man sitting right besides the first man.
"Hey, coffee's ready, come now otherwise the coffee would turn cold!" said an elderly man who was sitting in a chair in a small shop. He was the owner of the shop.
Upon hearing the call, the five people rushed towards him, gave him money and drank the hot coffee, slowly slowly while also talking with the elderly man.
"So uncle, where is your son? You told him he would arrive the very day when the Dragon would awaken!"
The elderly man said,"Oh, sorry to say, but he will not come because his boss is not giving him the holiday to come here!"
"Sorry to hear that!" said the same person who asked about the man's son.
"There is nothing to be sorry about! After all, even if my son is a hero, his powers are so weak that even the government refused to give him the proper title of a hero!" said the elderly man.
The elderly man then talked with the five people to pass the time since they were the only ones who would talk with him!
"Uncle, you said yesterday that your daughter in-law is expecting a child. Is it true?" said another man.
"Um.. as long as I can remember, YES, it is true that my daughter in-law is expecting a child! Just wait for 9 months then I will give you a free treat where you can eat as much as you can!!"
"Uncle, we don't want treat!! We want that you live a long life so that you can tell us more stories which had made us respected in the society!!" said all the men in unison.
The elderly man's eyes got filled with tears. He said, his lips trembling in sadness,"You all are heroes, specifically the most powerful ones!
Why do you need to talk with this poor, lame old man! You all are well suited in richer section of the society!
You should leave me alone, cause I can stay alone, happily as I did before I met you!"
These words made the men tear. Tear drops were coming out of their eyes.
They all said,"No uncle! You are the one who raised us since our teenage, even though you were not one of our relatives, but still, your stories, experiences and your loved shaped us perfectly, even better than our own, lazy parents! We won't leave you till the day we die!!!"
"Hey, don't say like that! I know, that we had met when I was still younger, my son had been declared as a qualified hero, you five were still lacking behind! But, no one will stay forever. Go and look after your own wives, children and your parents... (He coughs loudly)!"
Ten Months Later:
"Why did you leave us all alone, uncle!!"
The voice came from five men who were standing on a ground.
"We still owe you our whole lives, uncle!!" said the five men again.
In Another Place:
Many people were gathering in a large area of land, which was beautifully decorated with lanterns, lights and all that.
Many people, most probably teenagers were standing on a raised platform, which was on the centre of the gathering.
Suddenly, a bright, magnificent, divine light covered the whole gathering, illuminating the dark, evening sky.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a giant, colossal serpentine dragon appeared. It had bright, green scales, with yellow coloured horns that was not straight.
It had crimson red eyes. It was coiled around a statue which was, in fact, at the center of the raised platform where the teenagers were standing.
The statue was made up of marble. The dragon, radiated a powerful energy that made the people quite!
The dragon said, his loud, deep and hoarse voice reaching every corner of the area,"I bless all the humans with these precious humans! They will protect all of you till the day they die!!!"
Suddenly, a person who was standing beside the statue said,"O' Great Dragon of humanity!!! Please tell me, is the child of your meditation has taken birth?"
"Yes, he has taken birth 28 days ago!!! He has emerald green eyes, symbolising my scales. He has hair of my horn's colour!! He will be the mightiest, who will live for 500 years, protecting your human realm!!
He will have the most common blessing which I provide to the human souls you sacrifice!!
His name is... Oliver!!! Oliver Stone!!!"
After this announcement was made, the people were overjoyed. They just found the name of the child of the dragon's meditation which had taken about 2000 long years!!
"But remember!" added the dragon, its eyes narrowing.
"Do not rely on him completely, for he needs time to train and meditate, so that his lifespan increases up to the limit of 500 years!!!"
Suddenly, the dragon disappeared into thin air.
The teenage boys and girls who were standing got some items. Some of them got swords, spears and some of them got grimoires, magical staffs and all that.
All the people's main focus was on one thing:
