Chapter 28 - Battling Green Lizards

Slowly, his eyes adapted to the dim lighting. He frowned when he saw his surroundings. He was in a massive, prehistoric forest. The trees were tens of meters high, the grass was taller than an average adult human, and even the tree branches were as thick as the trunks of ancient oaks on Earth.

Looking at the position of the artificial sun overhead, he calculated the path ahead.

Igris moved swiftly through the towering grasses like a panther. With his newly enhanced 12 Agility, boosted further by his bloodline, his movement was incredibly fluid. He blurred through the brush, feeling no fatigue whatsoever.

Suddenly, his ears twitched. He heard heavy, rhythmic thuds approaching.

Crouching low to the ground, Igris crept forward until he could see the source of the noise.

There, standing in a small clearing, were the "Green Lizards."

Igris almost laughed. They looked absolutely nothing like lizards. They looked exactly like Tyrannosaurus Rexes—but instead of tiny, useless arms, these creatures possessed long, heavily muscled arms ending in razor-sharp claws. Their scaly green skin glistened with an oily sheen under the sunlight, and they stood nearly two meters tall.

'If the System calls a T-Rex with long arms a 'lizard', I wonder what the hell a dog looks like in this world,' Igris thought, shaking his head.

[ Green Lizard Sentry ]

[ Level: 2 ]

Igris smirked, drawing his jagged Sword.

He took a deep breath, coiling power into his legs, and stomped his right foot heavily into the dirt.

'BOOM!'

The earth shattered beneath his leg, splintering outward in a spiderweb crack. The force shot him forward like a bullet. The air compressed around his body, creating a vacuum trail as he crossed twenty meters in the blink of an eye.

The nearest Lizard barely had time to hiss in alarm, its scaled throat vibrating as its massive jaws parted.

Before the sound could fully escape its maw, Igris's sword thrust forward in a perfect, blurring line. The blade pierced the air with a soft shriek, driving straight through the monster's chest like a screw driver.

'SQUELCH!'

Bright green blood erupted from the wound, spraying outward in a constant squirt, splattering across Igris's jacket.

[ Critical Hit! ]

The creature's reptilian eyes bulged. Its forked tongue flicked out one final time before it slumped backward, dead.

"My first dungeon kill," Igris grinned, licking a drop of green blood from his lip as he stared hungrily at the remaining five monsters in the team.

The remaining five Lizards turned toward him in alarm, letting out terrifying, guttural roars. They raised crude stone blades and heavy iron shields, their massive tails thrashing the grass.

Igris clenched his sword tightly. He spun the weapon in his grip 360 degrees with fluid precision, stepping directly into the encirclement.

The air screeched as his blade whipped around.

'Crack!'

His sword connected with a charging Lizard's chest. Even without the 10x Multiplier activated, his base 13 Strength packed a devastating punch.

The creature's sternum caved inward with a sound like snapping branches, its internal organs rupturing from the blunt force of the steel. It was sent flying backward like a broken doll, crashing through a small tree.

Without pausing, Igris twisted his waist, leaning sideways so far his spine was almost parallel to the ground. A clumsy swipe from a claw strike passed harmlessly over his head, the displaced air ruffling his hair.

Simultaneously, Igris swept his blade upward.

'SHING!'

The strike slashed directly with the Lizard's throat, slicing cleanly from its belly, up through its jaws, and exiting the top of its skull.

As a third Lizard lunged at him from his blind spot, Igris'l was about to dodge but his eyes suddenly flashed.

'BAM!'

A massive tail slammed directly to his back like a sledgehammer!

'Crack!'

The sickening sound of his spine and ribs shattering rang out. Igris was violently blasted forward, crashing into the dirt like a ragdoll as he rolled on the floor.
