Chapter 1 - Twins

In this life we play the hand we are dealt by fate and our decisions. In another universe this world is filled to the brim with folktales and mythology that involve themselves with our daily life.

One day the king and queen of Tyranos had twin children: Zorin, the oldest by a minute, and his younger brother, Xyros. The problem was that Zorin was a hybrid, and Tyranos hated hybrids.

It was just another day in Zorin's life.

His morning started with the sound of instruments roaring through the streets in celebration of something. Groggy, he thought, "I wish I didn't have to work constantly. I'm also worried that I have to deal with the head maid. I need change my clothes"

As he started moving, he grabbed his clothes and tried to put his shirt on. He thought,"I have to make sure I don't put a hole in my shirt with these pointy things on my head. At least they arc forward and up."

As he pulled the shirt over his head, he thought, "Oh God, please don't pierce the shirt."

Then he hit something after pulling it over his head. He realized, "Oh. It's my wings. I forgot about them," he thought.

He moved to the broken mirror to guide his wings into the openings of his shirt. "There we go. Now I have to get my pants on. It should be easy," he thought.

He grabbed his pants and then pulled them on, one leg after the other, until he had tried to pull them up. He hit something hard and paused.

"What the… I know my tail is close to where I tighten my pants so they don't fall, but my tail shouldn't be this hard," he thought.

He touched his tail; every strand of fur hardened like rock and felt warm, then moments later softened again. When he reached for it a second time, it was soft and flexible, and he finished pulling his pants on.

He left his room and stepped outside, hearing more music and cheer as he passed celebratory banners and decorations bearing a variety of different symbols none looking similar. "How long has it been since this place was like this," he thought.

He began moving his way through the crowds on his way to work, the celebration had drawn more people than he was expecting. He then noticed a few people in usual maid attire, each bearing the royal crest on their uniforms walking somewhere.

he murmured, "Huh, why do those maids have weird markings on their clothing? And why are there people dressed oddly?"

He shrugged and continued weaving through the crowd, as he ran, people gave him disgusted looks as he passed by.

After a while he can start to smell something good as he starts to see the palace walls and then he makes it to the gate entrance.
