Chapter 125 - The Woman From His Past

The Woman From His Past

Peace never lasted.

Not in Damian's world.

The mansion felt calm that morning…

But it was the kind of calm that warned you—

Something was coming.

Elara stepped out into the hallway, her movements slower than usual.

Her body still reminded her of the night before.

Her mind…

Even more.

A faint smile touched her lips unconsciously.

Until—

"He has a type."

The voice froze her in place.

Female.

Smooth.

Sharp.

Elara turned slowly.

And saw her.

A woman stood at the end of the hallway.

Elegant.

Confident.

Dangerous in a way that didn't need weapons.

Her heels clicked softly against the floor as she walked closer.

Eyes scanning Elara like she was being evaluated.

"…You must be the new one," the woman said.

Elara's brows furrowed slightly.

"And you are?"

The woman smiled.

Not warmly.

"I'm the one he never told you about."

A pause.

"Isabella."

The name hit instantly.

Elara's chest tightened slightly.

So this was her.

The woman who broke him.

The one who left scars deeper than anything physical.

Isabella stopped right in front of her.

Close enough to invade her space.

"Hmm…" she tilted her head slightly.

"You're softer than I expected."

Elara didn't step back.

Didn't flinch.

"I'm not here to meet your expectations."

That made Isabella's smile widen slightly.

"Oh… I like that."

A pause.

"But let's see how long that confidence lasts."

The tension between them thickened instantly.

"Why are you here?" Elara asked calmly.

Isabella let out a soft laugh.

"To see what replaced me."

Her eyes darkened slightly.

"And to remind him…"

A pause.

"…what he lost."

Elara's jaw tightened.

"You mean what you threw away."

That landed.

For a brief second—

Isabella's expression shifted.

But she recovered quickly.

"Careful," she said softly.

"You don't know the full story."

"I know enough."

Silence.

Because Elara didn't sound unsure.

She sounded certain.

And that was new.

Footsteps echoed from the hallway behind.

Heavy.

Controlled.

Both women turned.

Damian.

He stopped the moment he saw them together.

His expression didn't change—

But his eyes did.

Dark.

Sharp.

"Isabella."

Her name came out cold.

But not empty.

Never empty.

A slow smile spread across her lips.

"Damian…"

Like she had been waiting for that moment.

"I see you've been busy."

Her gaze flicked briefly to Elara.

Possessive tension filled the air instantly.

"Why are you here?" Damian asked flatly.

No greeting.

No warmth.

Only distance.

Isabella stepped closer.

"You don't visit anymore."

A pause.

"So I came to you."

Dangerous words.

Because she wasn't just visiting.

She was inserting herself back into his world.

Uninvited.

Damian didn't respond immediately.

His gaze shifted slightly—

To Elara.

Just for a second.

But it was enough.

Because Isabella noticed.

And that…

That changed everything.

"Oh…" she murmured softly.

Now her smile was different.

Sharper.

"You actually care this time."

Silence.

Heavy.

Elara felt it.

The shift.

This wasn't just a reunion.

This was a challenge.

And Isabella just issued it.

Damian stepped forward slightly.

His presence filling the space instantly.

"Watch your words."

Low.

Controlled.

But dangerous.

Isabella didn't back down.

Instead—

She leaned closer.

"I want to see how long she lasts," she whispered.

That was it.

The line crossed.

Damian's jaw tightened.

"Elara."

His voice changed slightly.

Not cold.

Protective.

"Go inside."

Elara didn't move immediately.

Her eyes stayed on Isabella.

Then—

She turned.

Not out of fear.

But because she understood something.

This…

Wasn't her fight.

Not yet.

As she walked away—

She felt it.

Isabella's gaze on her back.

Calculating.

Interested.

Dangerous.

Behind her—

Silence stretched between Damian and Isabella.

Then—

"She's different," Isabella said softly.

Damian didn't respond.

Because he already knew.

"That's why you're scared," she added.

A pause.

"And that's why I'm here."

Her smile returned.

Slow.

Because this wasn't over.

Not even close.

And for the first time—

Elara wasn't just dealing with the Devil.

She was dealing with the woman who helped create him.
