Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Becoming Someone New

Life didn't become easier.

It just became quieter.

A new country.

New people.

New routines.

But the pain?

Still the same.

Jisoo stood outside a tall building.

Holding her file tightly.

Her first interview.

Her hands were cold.

"Don't be weak," she whispered to herself.

Inside—

Cold faces.

Serious voices.

"Why should we hire you?" someone asked.

Jisoo looked up.

"Because I don't give up," she said.

Silence.

She wasn't the best.

Not the most confident.

But she stayed.

Days turned into nights.

Part-time jobs.

Study.

No sleep.

Sometimes—

She cried quietly.

But no one saw.

Slowly—

She improved.

Learned.

Fought.

Stayed.

And one day—

"She's good," someone said.

That was enough.

On the other side—

Kevin stood in a large office.

Different country.

Same silence.

"Mr. Kevin, this deal is risky," someone said.

Kevin didn't hesitate.

"Do it."

Cold.

Sharp.

He didn't smile anymore.

Didn't joke.

Didn't wait.

He just worked.

Day and night.

Failures.

Loss.

Pressure.

But he never stopped.

Because stopping—

Meant remembering.

Years passed slowly.

Jisoo stood in front of a courtroom.

Confident.

Strong.

Her voice steady.

"Objection."

People listened.

Not because she was loud—

But because she was right.

Her name started to spread.

"Who is she?"

"She's good…"

"She's different…"

Jisoo didn't care.

She just kept moving forward.

Kevin stood at the top floor of a company building.

Looking down at the city.

Big deals.

Big decisions.

His name—

Now known.

Respected.

Feared.

But his eyes—

Still empty.

One night—

Jisoo opened her wardrobe.

Her eyes found it.

The ring.

She stared at it.

Her fingers touched it.

But she didn't wear it.

"…I don't remember your face," she whispered.

"But I remember the pain."

She closed the drawer.

On the other side—

Kevin stood alone.

"…I don't remember your smile," he said quietly.

---

"But I remember losing you."

Silence.

They forgot each other's faces.

But not the feeling.

Not the heartbreak.

And not the promise—

That never lasted.

👉 They didn't move on.

👉 They just became stronger.
