Chapter 66: The Pursuit II (6)
I flinched at Hades’ death stare.
“W-what?”
“What are you going to do when you meet them?”
“Wait, why are you even asking me that? It’s not like I asked to meet them first, you said your comrades in war wanted to see me first.”
“But you are so looking forward to it!”
“Of course I’m looking forward to it. I should be grateful to them and I would be seeing them often in the future, right? I should be seen in good light by them as the duchess to be, and…”
“There’s no need for you to do that.”
“Your Grace.”
I was dumbfounded by Hades looking angry to the point of huffing and puffing.
“Then why are you here? What did you expect me to say?”
“…”
“That seeing them is a bit too much for me right now, and that I’m not emotionally prepared to see them. Is this what you wanted to hear?”
Hades flinched. It seemed I was correct.
How overprotective could he be?
