"You surprised me today, Marvin," John said, the satisfaction clear in his voice. "I knew you were good after *The Sixth Sense*, but I didn't expect that. That entrance... where did it come from? The way you stepped out of the darkness—it had real weight."
Robert De Niro wandered over with a bottle of water in hand and nodded in agreement.
"He's right," he said. "That slow walk wasn't just creepy. It told a story. You could feel that something inside the kid had changed before he even said a word."
Marvin smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. "Director, I can't explain the mechanics of it. That scene was just something I felt needed to be done that way. I didn't plan the walk in the mirror. It just happened when you called action."
It was a perfect, humble lie. Internally, Marvin knew exactly how he had manipulated the space. He had utilized a fraction of the extrime aura manipulation, pulling the ambient light away from his frame to deepen the darkness around him. He commanded the shadows to hide him.
Nothing obvious—nothing anyone could consciously notice—but just enough to make the shadows seem deeper whenever he stepped into them. The effect was almost impossible to explain. People simply felt that he belonged there.
Trying to explain magic to a film crew, however, would have been a complete waste of time.
From that point on, production settled into a steady rhythm. The fractured relationship between Robert and Marvin became the emotional backbone of the film. Scene after scene, father and son pulled each other to higher performances, and with the cast finding its rhythm so quickly, filming began moving ahead of schedule.
….
…
..
.
A few days later, upstate New York's gloom swallowed the *Hide and Seek* soundstage. The production had commandeered an abandoned psychiatric hospital for exterior shots. Artificial wind cut through the crew, who huddled around space heaters in layers of flannel and fatigue. The atmosphere matched the film's darkness: gray skies, bare trees, and a damp chill that seeped into the bone.
"Marvin!"
The voice sliced through the morose ambiance.
Marvin turned from his script near video village.
His shoulders were still hunched in character—a withdrawn, traumatized child. Blinking, he shifted out of that headspace and raised an eyebrow.
Paris Hilton strode across the gravel lot like it was a Fashion Week runway. She wore a Burberry trench coat over a bubblegum pink velour tracksuit. Her blonde hair was secured with a Prada clip, Chanel sunglasses hiding her eyes despite the overcast sky. She carried a teacup Chihuahua in one arm and dragged a rolling Louis Vuitton carry-on with the other.
Behind her, struggling with two large trays of iced coffees, followed another lady.
"Paris," Marvin said, wiping his hands on his distressed costume. "What are you doing in upstate New York? It's forty degrees and there's no valet."
"I came to see you, obviously," Paris beamed, her platform boots sinking into the mud. She breezed past a security guard, freezing him with a glare that dared him to touch her.
She gestured behind her with the hand holding the dog. "I brought iced lattes for everyone! Wait—" She stopped, her excitement shifting to a mock-indignant pout. "Marvin, you're not mad at me for visiting, are you? Because if you're mad, I'll cry, and this mascara is not waterproof."
Marvin chuckled. He recognized the performance—the rapid emotional shifts, the teasing pout that was equal parts manipulation and vulnerability.
"I'm not mad. But I actually get happy when I see you. Right now, happiness is the worst emotion for my character. I'm supposed to be a traumatized child."
Paris raised an eyebrow, offering her trademark Page Six pout. "The tortured artist card? That's so... method. Fine." She flipped her hair. "I'll leave after my team hands out the coffee. But don't be all *dark and twisty* when I come back."
As if recalling a minor detail, she gestured carelessly to the woman standing behind her. "Oh! Marvin, this is my new personal assistant. Kim Kardashian."
Kim stepped forward, managing a small smile. She wore a fitted black turtleneck and high-waisted trousers that emphasized her curves that seemed to be much more flamboyant compared to Paris's modest loud pink. Her dark hair was pulled into a sleek ponytail, her makeup subtle enough not to outshine her boss.
Kim evaluated him with curious eyes. It was the first time she'd seen the Hilton princess trying so hard to please someone. Men usually orbited Paris, begging for a sliver of attention. Yet here she was, vibrating with the need for this boy's approval.
Marvin offered a warm smile, letting his charm bleed out just enough to make an impression. "Hello, Ms. Kardashian. Thank you for making the trip. That looks heavy."
Kim's eyes widened. The warmth in his voice hit her like a physical force—deep, resonant, and impossibly confident. A slow realization dawned as she took in his strong jawline and the centered gravity of a man three times his age. 'This look, these facial features, the way he holds himself… he is so charming and dominating!'
"Hello, Marvin," Kim greeted, her voice dropping a register, tinged with curiosity. "It's no trouble. Paris wanted to make sure you were... taken care of."
Paris noticed the shift in Kim's tone and the lingering eye contact. Her eyes narrowed behind her Chanel lenses.
"Okay, Kim, that's enough chit-chat," Paris interrupted with a dismissive wave. "Go give the coffee to the lighting guys. I need a private word with Marvin." She paused, adding with deliberate casualness, "About our schedules."
Kim masked her reaction with a compliant nod. "Of course, Paris," she said smoothly. She turned away, distributing lattes to the exhausted crew.
Once the area cleared, Paris closed the distance. She stepped into Marvin's personal space, her sweet perfume enveloping him.
"So," she whispered, glancing around to ensure no cameras or eyes were watching. Her fingers played with his frayed collar. "Did you miss me, or were you too busy being all *moody* and *artistic*?"
Marvin caught her wrist gently, brushing her pulse point. "I missed you," he admitted, his voice dropping. "But I'm also freezing, and you're wearing enough pink to heat a small village."
Paris giggled, genuine delight breaking through the carefully crafted persona she usually wore. The fact that he had noticed she was following his request clearly pleased her. "That's not a denial!"
"Come here," Marvin said, taking her hand and pulling her toward his Airstream trailer tucked away from the main set.
Inside, the space was warm, smelling of coffee and sandalwood incense. Paris settled onto the small bench seat, her pink tracksuit bright against the gray upholstery. Marvin sat beside her.
"Hi," she said softly, suddenly shy in a way she never was with anyone else.
"Hi," he replied.
Then she leaned in, and he met her halfway.
The kiss began with a playful peck — a quick, teasing press of lips that was more greeting than passion. Paris pulled back first, grinning mischievously. "That's all I get? After I flew all this way? In *coach*?"
"Liar," Marvin accused, his hands finding her waist and pulling her closer.
"Okay, private, but still! It was small!" she laughed.
"Demanding," he teased, his voice low and warm. Then he cupped her face properly, thumbs stroking her cheeks.
The second kiss was everything the first wasn't.
It started soft and exploratory, his lips brushing hers with a tenderness that made her heart flutter. Paris sighed against his mouth, her hands sliding up to tangle in his hair, pulling him closer. Marvin responded instantly, deepening the angle as his tongue traced the seam of her lips, seeking entrance. She opened for him with a soft, needy moan, and their tongues met in a slow, sensual dance — wet, warm, and hungry.
They kissed like they had all the time in the world and none at all. Deep, lingering kisses filled with passion and playfulness. Their tongues slid and stroked against each other, exploring every inch of each other's mouths.
Thick, slippery saliva quickly coated their lips and chins, making the kiss deliciously messy and intimate. Soft, wet sounds filled the trailer as they devoured one another — sucking on each other's tongues, licking, tasting, claiming.
Paris melted completely, her body pressing tighter against his as her hands roamed over his shoulders and chest. Marvin's hands weren't idle either — one stayed in her hair, the other sliding down to grip her waist and then boldly cup the curve of her ass, pulling her flush against him. She gasped into the kiss, her hips rocking subtly against his as she felt him hardening between them.
When Marvin pulled back to press kisses to her jaw, her throat, the shell of her ear, she actually giggled—a sound she hadn't made since she was twelve.
"You're tickling," she whispered.
"You're beautiful," he murmured against her skin.
"That's so cheesy," she complained, but her smile was radiant.
A thick string of saliva still connects their swollen, shiny lips. Paris laughed breathlessly, her cheeks flushed. "You're so good at that…"
Marvin didn't let her finish. He pulled her back in for another deep, hungry kiss, tongues tangling even more desperately this time. His hands roamed freely over her body — squeezing her ass, sliding up her sides, brushing the sides of her breasts through her top. Paris moaned louder, arching into his touch, her own hands exploring his chest and back, pulling him as close as possible.
The kiss went on and on — playful, passionate, wet, and lovely all at once. They laughed softly when their noses bumped, then immediately dove back in with renewed hunger. Saliva dripped down their chins as they kissed like starving lovers, tongues thrusting and stroking, bodies grinding subtly together in the confined space of the trailer.
When they finally broke apart again, both were breathing hard, lips puffy and glistening, eyes dark with desire. Paris fanned herself dramatically, her smile radiant and a little dazed.
"Okay," she breathed, still pressed against him. "That was totally hot. Like, *majorly* hot."
"I have to get back to set," Marvin said, smiling.
"I know." Paris pouted softly. "But don't forget to call me when you wrap. I'll be at the Mercer. The city is literally boring without you."
"I won't forget," Marvin reassured her.
Paris stood, adjusting her tracksuit and checking her reflection. She paused at the door, looking back with startling vulnerability.
"Marvin? I'm not just... one of many, right? I mean, I know I am, but like... I'm special?"
"You're Paris," he said simply, as if that explained everything.
She smiled—really smiled—and blew him a kiss. "See you later, baby."
She clicked out of the trailer and swept toward the exit where Kim waited by a car.
Paris's smile faded just a little.
A flicker of disappointment crossed her face before she smoothed it away.
She already had a pretty good idea what Marvin's life in Los Angeles looked like.
She'd accepted his terms back at the Beverly Hilton. At least for now, she was one of several girls in his life.
She could live with that...
For now.
But accepting it didn't mean she intended to leave things that way.
'Please,' she thought, lifting her chin ever so slightly. 'I'm Paris Hilton.' The competitive spark in her refused to stay quiet. 'Give me enough time... he'll only have eyes for me.'
The thought brought a small, satisfied smile back to her lips. 'The rest? They're just keeping my place warm.'
Kim, observing from a distance while pretending to check her pager, watched with sharp eyes. She noted the swollen lips, the disheveled hair, the way Paris floated rather than walked.
"So," Kim mused, opening the car door, 'this is how the untouchable Hilton princess behaves when Marvin Meyers sets the rules?'
Her calculating mind spun scenarios. She imagined Paris's reaction if she found out her quiet assistant had ambitions of her own, that Kim had been taking notes on her taste in men. 'Wouldn't it be fun to show off Marvin as my prize, right in front of Paris?' The media storm would be legendary, securing a brand empire faster than any reality show.
Kim paused, a logical thought breaking the fantasy as she slid into the passenger seat. She looked back at Marvin standing in his trailer doorway. 'Wait. Isn't Marvin only about to turn fourteen?'
Kim shook her head, realizing the legal awkwardness of her ambition. The boy carried himself with the authority of a studio mogul, making it easy to forget his actual age.
Fourteen. She was nineteen. Problematic in every jurisdiction.
"Kim! Earth to Kim!" Paris's demanding voice cut from the backseat. "Can you pay attention? I need you to call my stylist. I need something that says 'I'm taken but still totally available.'"
Kim abandoned her dangerous thoughts and pulled out her PalmPilot. "Of course, Paris,"
