Chapter 96
GEORGIA'S POV
"I... I honestly don't know," I admitted. She arched an eyebrow, and for the first time, I actually forced myself to face the question. Did I look at Nikolaj as more than a confidant? Or was I just intoxicated by the freedom I felt when I was with him?
What I did know was that I valued him more than any friend I'd ever had—and currently, I liked him significantly more than I liked Jaime.
"I'm not sure if my feelings have crossed that line, but if they have, I'll do my best to suppress them. I know the optics aren't right," I said, twisting my fingers nervously. I could only hope that accidentally saving her life earned me enough points to stay in her good graces.
