chapter 2
That night Miranda was out in the forest gathering herbs to make potion when she felt the changes,she could hear the cry of a baby sounding like thunder and commanding the shadows.
She walked deeper and deeper trying to find the source, when she saw a man placing a child on the ground,the man saw her,but didn't run, it was as if he has been waiting for her all along.
He looked frail and sickly, like he was going to die anytime soon but the aura around him said something else,his eyes were white but it was clear he wasn't blind, Miranda wanted to run at first but she couldn't,she has always wanted to be a mother and here she was looking at an old man, about to abandon a child.
She stepped closer and crouch down and picked up the little human,the moment she touched her,she felt as if everything around her was moving away,she felt a heavy pressure pushing her downward, she fell on her knees screaming,she was in terrible pain,but she refused to drop the child,she held her as if to protect her from the unseen force pushing her down,then suddenly the frail old man raised his hand and it all stopped.
Miranda looked up at the old man,who told her that the child in her arms is the child of destiny, that the child will change how people view the world and he told her to make sure the baby doesn't wonder into this forest they were standing in until she is ready to carry the burdens of her powers.
