Chapter 5 - The unplanned beginning

That night, he returned home without a word.

The door clicked shut behind him, the sound echoing slightly in the quiet house. Nothing felt different -- everything was exactly where it should be. The same walls, the same silence, the same routine.

And yet...he wasn't the same.

Dinner was already on the table.

He sat down, pulling the chair slowly ,the faint scraping sound breaking the stillness for a moment. No one asked anything. No one needed to. And he didn't offer anything either.

He ate quickly. No rush. No distractions.

Just the soft clinking of the spoon against the plate and the different ticking of the clock. Once, meals used to feel different full of thoughts, conversation,or at least some kind of presence but... Now..? It was just ... Necessary or something to be done.

Once his duty was done,he stood up, placed the plate aside, and walked back to his room without looking around. No emotions attached with no kindaa.. thoughts.

Just another task completed. The night passed in silence. And for the first time in a long time-- he slept without overthinking. The next evening,he stepped out again.

The air was cooler, carrying a strange calm with it. His footsteps were steady, unhurried,as he walked down the same path he had taken countless times before.

Nothing new. Nothing different or at least.. that's what he thought until he saw her.

Se stood a little ahead, near the edge of the pathway, her figure slightly blurred by the fading light. She wasn't doing anything extraordinary. Just.. standing there, looking at something he couldn't see.

But there was something about her presence.

Something that didn't fit into the usual noise of the world i guess then he just slowed down-- not intentionally it just... Happened. For a brief second, his eyes rested on her and strangely he didn't look away immediately. It wasn't curiosity, it wasn't attraction and at least, not in the way people describe it. It was... different, unfamiliar as if mind was trying to understand something it hadn't felt in a long time. She turned slowly not fully just enough for him to catch a glimpse of her face and in that moment something shifted... Not enough to break his control or not enough to change his pace but enough.. to be noticed... He just looked away.

Continued watching as if nothing has happened , as if she disint exist. But deep down something had already been disturbed because for someone who had mastered the art of not feeling... Even the smallest change mattered. And this? This wasn't just a change , it was the beginning of something he didn't plan for or something that.... Might not be as easy to ignore.

And maybe--

This was the first time...

That silence didn't feel entirely empty.

Even the strongest walls can tremble when something unexpected enters--because no matter how detached you become, some moments are meant to be felt. The unexpected doesn't weaken you, it reminds you that you're still human.
