I don't want to get involved with the male leads… please, please, God just let me live in peace. I should have exchanged it with Lea or Havey…
No… I don't even know if I'll be forced to follow the novel's script, or if I'll be lucky enough to avoid them…
With growing tension, Ivy slowly opened her slip.
"It's… Evyan."
I'm doomed… she cried inside.
Havey's eyes widened in shock.
"Wowww, Ivy ,you're bound to become famous!" he said, placing a hand on her shoulder as if encouraging her.
Havey laughed at her, clearly aware that she disliked being paired with one of the college's popular seniors. He enjoyed teasing her, watching her expressions closely.
After a while, both Havey and Lea went off to find their respective partners.
Ivy quietly made her way to hers.
She stood behind Evyan, not saying a word like a silent wall. No greeting, no introduction.
Strangely, she felt a bit relieved. At least it's not the main male lead… or the second one. Their cunning personalities were far more troublesome. Compared to them, Evyan seemed quieter… easier to deal with.
Maybe this bad luck… isn't entirely bad, she thought, trying to comfort herself.
Just then, the host returned.
"Have you all introduced yourselves to your partners?
"Yes!" the room echoed with excitement.
"Hey, Ludwig! Our Evyan hasn't met his partner yet!" Yoshua shouted.
"Huh? That's not possible. There are no slips left in the bowl. Did anyone not get one? Or did someone take two by mistake?"
At that moment, someone tapped Evyan lightly from behind.
Evyan turned—
And saw Ivy standing quietly in a dark corner.
Startled, he jumped.
"Seriously…" Evyan muttered, facepalming. "Are you my partner?"
Ivy simply nodded.
Yoshua burst into laughter, clutching his stomach.
"You're seriously something! You actually made Evyan freak out ,you're amazing!"
"Now, now, let's start the game. The rules are simple—you and your partner need to give the same answers. We'll ask a few questions, and you must choose an option that matches with your partner."
"Now… let's begin with our college's most handsome ,the president of the student council, Kylan!"
The room erupted in cheers and applause.
Ivy remembered this scene.
Kylan's partner… she's one of the side villainesses. The one who adored him and later made the female lead suffer along with Ivy…
In the original story, Ivy was supposed to be Kylan's partner. She had exchanged slips with her underling to get his name.
But now… things have changed.
Since I avoided them from the start… it doesn't matter to me anymore.
"Hello, I'm Kia Wilson," the girl introduced herself, blushing and giggling, while Kylan remained expressionless.
"Well, well, what a pair we have here. Let's start the questions! Write your answers on the board provided."
"First question , what place do you prefer for a holiday? What type of food do you like?…" Ludwig continued, asking a series of ten questions.
"Now, let's tally the results…"
A pause.
"Wow… seriously? Not even one matches. Oh, sorry girl you both have zero compatibility."
"What?! That's not true! Let me check! Kylan… there must be some mistake, right? How can not even a single answer match? Something's wrong, isn't it?" she protested, making a fuss.
Kylan didn't even respond. He simply walked away and returned to his seat right beside Ivy.
Laughter spread across the room.
Embarrassed, Kia clenched her fists and hurried back to her place.
Why the heck is he sitting beside me? Aren't his friends over there? Why here…? I don't want to get involved with him…
—internal screaming—
When will this mess be over…? If not for my mom, I wouldn't have even come here. I barely managed to avoid going home by saying I was required for the event…
The moment this ends, I'm leaving. Immediately.
This noise is driving me crazy… I'm getting a headache.
"…Sit in my place," Evyan said to Ivy.
He had noticed Kylan's growing irritation if anything went wrong, things could escalate quickly. He didn't expect Ivy to actually listen. Most girls would have used this as an excuse to stay close.
He only said it out of obligation. After all, he had warned her whatever happened next wouldn't be his responsibility.
"Thank God…" Ivy murmured.
In that moment, she saw Evyan as nothing less than an angel sent to save her.
She nodded and immediately stood up. Without hesitation, they exchanged seats.
Evyan was slightly surprised he hadn't expected her to agree so easily.
Maybe… she's different from the others, he thought.
Everyone's turns were over. Now, it was finally Ivy and Evyan's turn.
Anos handed them the boards.
As he gave one to Ivy, he made a look of clear disgust… and everyone noticed it.
Ivy didn't react at all.
Evyan glanced at her, expecting at least a flicker of hurt.
But she didn't give a damn.
After a brief pause, the host continued with the questions. They wrote down their answers, and soon it was time to tally them.
"The answers you both got the same are… one. Well, to be honest, that's the second lowest so far. Please return to your seats."
They went back. Evyan joined his friends, while Ivy returned to hers.
"Hey, Ivy, I thought you wouldn't even get a single match. Who knew you'd actually get one?" Havey laughed.
Ivy gave him a serious look and rolled her eyes.
"What....what?! Did you see that? She just rolled her eyes at me!" he exclaimed, eyes wide in shock.
Havey and Lea burst out laughing at her expression.
"Guys, now I'd like to see who wants their partners to be their mentees."
A few hands went up—only those with high compatibility.
"As expected, none of the AHartK raised their hands… wait—did… Evyan just raise his hand?"
Everyone turned to look.
He had.
A wave of astonishment spread across the room.
"Wow, seriously? Am I dreaming?" Ludwig laughed.
Even Yoshua and Kylan were surprised.
Kylan frowned slightly, while Yoshua covered his mouth in disbelief.
Boom.
It felt like something exploded in Ivy's mind.
Why… why is everything going against me today?
First, I tried to avoid the male leads… and now this?
Are they seriously trying to torture me right now?
Lea and Havey struggled to hold back their laughter, their shoulders shaking as they tried to stay quiet. Tears formed in the corners of their eyes.
"Hey! Are you serious?" Yoshua asked.
Evyan simply nodded.
Anos was just as surprised. How did she make Evyan agree to be her mentor? he wondered.
"Now, now...everyone, let's dine!" Ludwig shouted.
Dishes were soon placed on every table, followed by drinks. The room filled with chatter and laughter as everyone enjoyed the feast, growing louder by the minute.
Kylan, however, quietly left and stood against a wall outside, distancing himself from the noise.
Meanwhile, Lea sat picking out carrots from her plate. Havey noticed and grinned.
"Lea… that's why you're short," he teased.
Lea immediately threw a fork at him. They both laughed, enjoying the moment.
"Hey, have you guys ever had alcohol?" Havey asked with a smirk.
Lea shook her head. Ivy paused for a moment.
In my previous life, I did… but now…
"…No," she said.
"So, let this be your first time today," he said, passing them the glasses.
"Wait… I thought it might not be your first time," Lea raised an eyebrow.
"…What do you take me for?" he gave her a seriously? look.
"Well… I thought you were a drunkard since… you look like one," she grinned.
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Should I laugh now, Miss Shorty?" he teased again.
Lea punched him.
"Hey! Hey! Stop, stop. it hurts!" he yelped.
Ivy stepped in. "Stop it."
"Anyway, cheers! Lift your glass and don't put it down until you finish it."
They drank until they couldn't anymore. Havey tried to stop them, but they wouldn't listen.
"Didn't you say… we have to finish the glass without putting it down?" Ivy mumbled, nodding to herself.
Havey sighed. At this rate… it's better if I stay sober and handle them.
Lea and Ivy, completely drunk, were enjoying themselves. Havey struggled to drag both of them outside.
And then—
Ivy bumped straight into Kylan, who was standing against the wall.
"Mm… one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight… huhh, wow—eight packs!" she said, poking his abs as she counted.
Kylan frowned.
Havey froze in horror.
I'm dead… I'm actually dead…
Ivy suddenly smiled and hugged him. "Ohh, my pookie Keo~" she giggled, ruffling his hair.
"Good boy! Give me five—give me five!"
Havey was screaming internally.
What has gotten into you, Ivy?!
"Haha… Kylan, please forgive her! She—she's drunk! Sorry, sorry!" he quickly pulled Ivy away and bowed in apology.
"Won't we take Keo with us?" she wailed, pouting.
"Ivy, it's better if you just shut your mouth. You're much nicer when you speak only one word. If your drunk self could do the same, that'd be even better."
Before he could react—
Ivy suddenly climbed onto him and shouted right into his ear, "F**k off!"
Havey felt his soul leave his body.
This is it… I'm not surviving tonight.
1. WILL IVY REGRET HER ACTIONS LATER?
2. HOW , HAVEY WILL SURVIVE WITH THE TWO DRUNKARDS?
