Chapter 173 - Teddy Bears, Hats, and Lolita Dresses!

"Arashi, let's go out and have some fun!"

Just then, Perona floated over excitedly.

"I heard there's a town nearby called Happy Town! Just hearing the name makes it sound fun!"

"Happy Town?"

Arashi blinked before suddenly remembering.

Happy Town wasn't located on Swallow Island itself, but on neighboring Swallow Island's sister island, Swallow Archipelago's Shallow Island—a town rebuilt after being destroyed by pirates, a place that promoted happiness, warmth, and acceptance as its motto.

"Alright then."

Arashi nodded.

"Let's head out now! We happen to need some daily supplies anyway."

"Mr. Arashi, w-we won't be going."

At the mention of Happy Town, Shachi and Penguin immediately stood up nervously.

Not long ago, Old Wolf had taken them there to look for work.

Because of their criminal records, they had nearly been sold out by their despicable uncle. If Old Wolf hadn't intervened, they probably would have been arrested by the town guards.

More importantly, Old Wolf's workshop had been wrecked by the Bag Pirates.

If they didn't repair it quickly, they'd soon be sleeping under the open sky.

Law had no intention of going either.

His thoughts were a complete mess right now.

He needed somewhere quiet.

Deep down, he felt that Arashi wasn't lying.

It really was possible that Arashi had come because of Corazon.

And as much as he didn't want to admit it, the idea of becoming Arashi's disciple had already started to tempt him.

Although he'd never seen Arashi's true strength, he could feel it from the man's bearing alone.

Especially when Arashi talked about Doflamingo.

There was no fear.

No hesitation.

Only calm confidence.

As if Doflamingo wasn't worth mentioning.

Even now, remnants of the Donquixote Family still operated throughout the North Blue.

If Arashi lacked strength and confidence, there was no way he'd risk becoming enemies with them just to come find him.

After jumping off the Traveler's deck, Bepo watched the ship sail toward Shallow Island until it disappeared over the horizon.

Unlike Law, he wasn't the type to overthink things.

In fact, he was very excited about Arashi wanting to take Law as a disciple.

"Captain, why don't you just become Mr. Arashi's student?"

Bepo turned toward Law and said earnestly,

"I think Mr. Arashi is really strong! If you became his disciple—"

"Bepo."

Penguin interrupted before he could finish.

"This is the captain's decision."

"Oh... sorry."

Bepo immediately lowered his head and began fidgeting with his paws.

"Let's go."

Law suddenly stood up, breaking his long silence.

"Let's help Old Wolf rebuild the workshop first."

"AHHHHH!"

Bepo suddenly let out a scream.

"Old Wolf! Old Wolf is still on the Traveler!"

Meanwhile, aboard the Traveler.

Old Wolf had slept for less than half an hour before waking up.

When he saw Robin sitting beside him, he immediately tried to sit up.

"Please don't move yet, sir."

Robin quickly stopped him.

"Mr. Arashi just finished treating your injuries. You should rest."

"I'm troubling all of you."

Old Wolf looked apologetically at Robin.

"You came all the way to Swallow Island as travelers, yet not only did I fail to show proper hospitality, I've also caused you so much trouble..."

"You can repay me with a drink or two after you've recovered."

Arashi pushed open the door and walked in.

"And besides, I'm quite interested in your aircraft."

He sat down beside the old inventor.

"Once you've recovered, let's study it together. I might be able to help improve it."

"Really?!"

Old Wolf's eyes lit up instantly.

"Mr. Arashi understands this kind of technology?"

"I tinkered with some things in the past."

Arashi smiled casually.

"A basic aircraft shouldn't be too difficult."

Seeing that Arashi wasn't joking, Old Wolf became so excited that he sat upright despite his injuries.

But after sitting up, he suddenly fell silent.

Then he looked at Arashi carefully and asked,

"Mr. Arashi... did you really come to Swallow Island because of Trafalgar Law?"

"Hm?"

Arashi tilted his head slightly before laughing.

"You old fox."

"So you were pretending to sleep earlier."

"Yes."

He nodded openly.

"I came because of a request from an old friend."

"But Law has to willingly become my disciple."

"If he still hasn't made a decision after three days, I'll leave."

"It seems I misjudged you, Mr. Arashi."

Old Wolf let out a long breath.

"Law is a pitiful child."

"And with the power of the Op-Op Fruit, I'm very worried he'll be exploited by people with ill intentions."

"That was why I was wary of you at first."

He paused before continuing.

"But now I believe your intentions are sincere."

"Not because you saved my life."

"But because I can tell you genuinely want to take Law as your disciple."

At that moment, Perona suddenly burst into the room.

"Arashi!"

Her eyes sparkled with excitement.

"I can see Happy Town on Shallow Island!"

"I need money! Lots of money!"

"I want teddy bears!"

"Pretty hats!"

"And Lolita dresses!"

Arashi immediately developed a headache.

"Buy them, buy them, buy all of them."

"The money's under the liquor cabinet. Go get it yourself."

"Yay!"

Perona rushed over and planted a hard kiss on Arashi's cheek.

Then she grabbed Robin and dashed out of the room.

Watching the scene unfold, Old Wolf revealed a warm smile.

"What a heartwarming sight."

He turned toward Arashi.

"If Trafalgar Law can become your disciple, Mr. Arashi..."

"It will be the greatest fortune of his life."
