Chapter 22 - What the Hell Is a Dung Beetle Form?!

Seated aboard the warship, Garp stared solemnly at the basket of Devil Fruits beside him.Because of these fruits, he had to return to Marine Headquarters immediately and hand them over without delay.

Perhaps it was curiosity about Xia Yu's identity.

Or perhaps it was curiosity about Xia Yu's true motive for selling Devil Fruits at such a low price.

Or maybe—just maybe—it was a lingering trace of doubt about whether those Devil Fruits were even real.

Garp suddenly raised his head and looked at the neatly lined-up marines standing on the deck. Although he was only a Vice Admiral of Marine Headquarters, he still had full authority to allocate these Devil Fruits.

So when he saw how pitifully weak his subordinates were—especially the way they were practically drooling over the basket—something stirred in his heart. Without another moment of hesitation, he called out to the front row, "Swick, Bot…"

Garp called out the names of six marines in total, and all six—including Swick and Bot—stepped forward.

"One Devil Fruit each!"

After only a brief pause, Garp made his decision. "Go ahead!"

Hearing this, Swick and the others froze—then slowly lifted their heads, eyes filled with shock and excitement.

 "Vice Admiral Garp… this…"

"What? Didn't you hear me?"

Garp widened his eyes and barked, "Hurry up! Let me see what kind of beings you'll become!"

"But… Vice Admiral, this…"

"I'll report it to Sengoku myself. You don't need to worry."

The six of them didn't dare disobey Garp's command. And more importantly—faced with the temptation of Devil Fruits, how could they possibly pass up such an incredible opportunity?

Swick stepped forward first, casually picked one Devil Fruit, and moved aside. Then Bot followed, grabbing one and standing next to him…

After all six had chosen their fruits, they instinctively turned to look at Garp.

"Eat them!"

Garp's expression tightened slightly. Although he believed these Devil Fruits were real, the price Xia Yu had sold them for was simply too cheap—so cheap that it left him uneasy. That was why, before returning to Headquarters, he needed to test them himself.

"Ugh…"

"So… so disgusting!"

"Vice Admiral, this is… completely inedible!"

"Blegh—!"

The moment Swick and the others took their first bite, their eyes shot wide open, their faces twisting in instant agony.

"Hahahahaha…!"

Seeing the identical reactions from all six, Garp finally relaxed—and burst into loud laughter. "That awful taste is exactly right! That proves they're real Devil Fruits!"

After a brief pause, Garp turned to look at Shells Town's harbor, which was gradually fading into the distance behind him, and muttered softly, ""Kid… it seems I really did misunderstand you! But I'm still very curious—where on earth did you get so many Devil Fruits?"

"Graaah—!"

Suddenly, a loud roar rang out. The next moment, Swick—who had eaten his fruit first—dropped to one knee on the deck.

Before anyone could react, his body began to transform—right before their eyes!

"This is… his Devil Fruit ability activating?!"

"So… so amazing!!"

"Just like that, he gained a Devil Fruit power? That's incredible!"

The marines standing in formation stared wide-eyed at Swick's transformation. But when the transformation completed, their initial shock instantly turned into pure confusion.

Because Swick had transformed into a gigantic… ant.

Before anyone could process it, Bot also completed his transformation.

The moment they saw Bot's new form, the marines—who had been stunned just seconds ago—completely lost it!

"Hahaha! What… what did Bot even turn into?!"

"Normally I wouldn't laugh… but I can't hold it in anymore! Hahahahaha!"

"That's a kangaroo, right?! It's not even that funny—HAHAHA!"

As the Devil Fruit abilities of the remaining four marines activated and fully manifested, even Garp couldn't sit still anymore!

Zoan-type · Bug-Bug Fruit, Ant Form.

Zoan-type · Rodent-Rodent Fruit, Kangaroo Form.

Zoan-type · Dog-Dog Fruit, Native Dog Form? Seriously… this is just impossible to comment on!

Alright, Garp could still accept these—especially Swick's Bug-Bug Fruit and Bot's Rodent-Rodent Fruit. One possessed immense strength, the other incredible speed. With proper development, both could become quite formidable abilities.

But what came next… was simply unbearable to watch!

Zoan-type · Bug-Bug Fruit, Grasshopper Form?

Zoan-type · Bug-Bug Fruit, Dung Beetle Form?????

Looking at his six transformed subordinates, Garp's facial muscles twitched uncontrollably, dark lines forming across his face.

Especially when the last marine completed his transformation into a dung beetle—Garp nearly spat out a mouthful of blood on the spot!

What the hell is a dung beetle form?! That's literally a crap-rolling beetle!!!

At the same time…

Xia Yu, carrying the more than three hundred million Beli he had just earned, happily set off on a new journey.

However, when he glanced at the two large boxes of cash beside him, his brows immediately furrowed slightly.

Before transmigrating, he had lived in a cashless city! All he needed was a phone to buy anything he wanted. But now, in the world of pirates, carrying hundreds of millions in cash all of a sudden—it felt incredibly inconvenient!

Sure enough, traveling with this much "cash" was anything but convenient.

Could this be the so-called trouble of being rich?

On that point, Xia Yu had plenty of personal experience.

In his previous life, he was a true first-generation tycoon. During his university years, he had developed a sharing-based application that sparked a global trend, earning him immense wealth. After capital investors stepped in, he made a clean exit—cashing out billions—and began his journey across the world.

And it was precisely during that global journey that an accident brought him into the world of One Piece.

Perhaps that was also why he had been bound to the Traveler System!

"So… should I go to Orange Town? Or Syrup Village? Or head straight to Loguetown?"

Pulling his gaze away from the boxes, Xia Yu blinked, then made his decision.

"Let's go to Syrup Village."

Xia Yu glanced at the sea ahead, the corners of his lips lifting slightly.

"The scenery there… should be worth the trip."
