Chapter 4 So, does Shrek only teach geniuses?
Above the sky, the scenes of the dark world continue.
After their extraordinary adventure in the Star Dou Great Forest, Huo Yuhao, along with Bei Bei and Tang Ya, traveled a long and winding road before finally arriving at Shrek Academy, known as the number one academy on the continent.
Outside the majestic East Gate, a colossal Shrek Academy statue stood tall, and a long, bustling crowd of young Soul Masters, all eager to enter this sacred place to study, formed a long line.
[In the scene, Huo Yuhao, having secured a special admission spot through the Tang Sect, despite only possessing a ten-year spirit ring (after disguising it), had a smooth application process under the guidance of Bei Bei, an inner court senior, and obtained his admission qualification with almost no trouble.]
However, the camera then shifted to the lines next to it where people were registering normally.
The young soul masters all looked tense, clutching various documents tightly in their hands. One of them, a chubby boy in fancy clothes, sweating profusely, pulled a letter stamped with a red seal from his pocket and handed it to the teacher in charge of registration.
The teacher glanced at the "Heavenly Dou City Lord's Seal" on the envelope, then checked the chubby boy's soul power level before reluctantly nodding: "Hmm, the City Lord's recommendation letter is fine, and the soul power is barely acceptable. Go in and pay the fees."
The chubby boy, overjoyed at being granted a pardon, excitedly ran inside. Behind him, several other boys who couldn't produce recommendation letters, or whose letters weren't of sufficient caliber, were ruthlessly turned away and could only wail and cry at the door.
This scene, clearly displayed through the celestial screen, was shown to everyone across the entire continent.
...
The Dark World, a remote small town.
In an ordinary family of Soul Masters, a little boy of only six or seven years old, who had recently awakened his Martial Soul, was leaning on the windowsill, pointing at the sky with a puzzled look and asking:
"Dad, Mom, what was that letter that chubby boy took out? Why did the teacher read the letter before letting him in?"
The child's father, a level 30+ Soul Master, sighed upon hearing this, patted the child's head, and explained, "Silly child, that's called a 'City Lord's Recommendation Letter.' To join Shrek Academy, having Soul Power alone isn't enough; you also need this."
"Only the top-performing and most outstanding students in the primary Soul Master academies of each major city are qualified to receive this recommendation letter."
"In other words…" the mother added, "only those geniuses who are already the best among their peers are qualified to enroll in Shrek Academy."
The little boy blinked his big eyes, even more puzzled: "Does that mean Shrek Academy only teaches geniuses?"
"Hmm...you could say that." The father nodded, his tone carrying a hint of blind worship for Shrek Academy. "After all, it's the number one academy on the continent, only accepting monsters, not ordinary people."
However, the little boy's next words stunned the parents.
"But…" the little boy tilted his head and said innocently, "They're already geniuses, why would they need Shrek to teach them?"
"If students can succeed in other academies, then that doesn't prove that Shrek Academy's teaching level is excellent! It's like... it's like serving up a well-cooked meal and then claiming it's the chef's skill!"
Children's innocent words, however, struck like a thunderbolt, leaving the parents speechless.
Shrek Academy has always been mythologized.
They all believed that only strong individuals emerged from Shrek Academy, therefore Shrek Academy was the strongest.
But no one has ever investigated whether Shrek Academy's strength stems from selecting the best talents from across the continent.
Or does it truly possess the ability to turn the rotten into the miraculous?
Now, this question, like a seed, has been planted in their hearts.
...
[The aerial footage continues.]
After completing the registration process, Huo Yuhao took the key and followed the signs to the freshman dormitory building.
The dilapidated hallways and mottled walls all testify to the age of this dormitory building. And lying at the dormitory entrance is the elderly man who looks like he's on his deathbed—Moun.
After respectfully bowing to the old man, Huo Yuhao found his dormitory room—number 108.
Just as he pushed open the door to start cleaning, a handsome young man with delicate features but an arrogant expression walked in.
It was Wang Dong.
The following scene caused the blood pressure of viewers in the dark world to rise instantly.
In the scene, Wang Dong stands with her hands on her hips, looking down at Huo Yuhao with a condescending gaze. From her pretty little mouth comes a string of incredibly domineering "dormitory rules."
"First, you are not allowed to bring anyone back to the dormitory without permission."
"Secondly, you are not allowed to be naked in the dormitory."
"Third, no snoring at night."
"Fourth, you are not allowed to disturb my cultivation."
"Fifth, from now on you'll be responsible for cleaning the dorm; I won't do any of the heavy lifting."
Finally, Wang Dong arrogantly raised his chin, pointed at Huo Yuhao's nose, and said, "In this dormitory, I'm the boss, you have to listen to me! Also, stay away from me, I'm a germaphobe!"
After this scene aired, public opinion in the underworld exploded once again.
"Holy crap! Who's this kid? So arrogant!"
"She's quite pretty, but how come she has such poor manners?"
"This is a dormitory, a common area, not his home! Why should Huo Yuhao be the one to clean it? Why should we all listen to him?"
"Exactly! And he's a germaphobe? If you're so germaphobic, don't live in a dormitory! Go stay in a luxury hotel! What a spoiled brat!"
Inside Shrek Academy.
The real Wang Dong was standing next to Huo Yuhao, feeling the strange looks from the surrounding classmates, which were a mixture of disdain, dissatisfaction and pointing fingers.
Wang Dong's originally fair and pretty face had turned a deep liver color.
"I...I was back then..." Wang Dong tried to explain, but found there was no way to defend himself. Because the person in the picture was indeed him, and every word he said was indeed what he had said back then.
At that time, as the little princess of the Haotian Sect, he was showered with love and affection, so how could he understand respect and consideration?
"Um... Yuhao, I really..." Wang Dong lowered his head, his voice barely audible, wishing he could disappear into a crack in the ground.
Seeing this, Huo Yuhao, though he also felt that Wang Dong in the picture was indeed quite annoying, still gently patted Wang Dong's shoulder: "It's okay, that was before. You've changed a lot now."
...
The realm of the gods, the temple of the sea god.
Tang San, who was originally worried about the problem of Xuanzi God King, was now attracted to another matter.
"Xiao Qi?"
Standing beside Tang San, Xiao Wu looked at the domineering and arrogant "young man" in the sky and immediately recognized him as her most beloved daughter—Tang Wutong.
But the next second, Xiao Wu frowned.
"Third Brother, why...why is Xiao Qi sharing a dorm room with a boy?"
Xiao Wu pointed to the cramped dormitory room with only two beds in the picture, her tone full of worry and confusion, "Although Xiao Qi is dressed as a boy, she is still a girl! And that Huo Yuhao... although he seems like a good kid, he is still a boy!"
"This...this is outrageous!"
Upon hearing this, Tang San's expression stiffened slightly.
As the one who started all of this, he certainly knew what was going on.
His plan was to send his daughter down to gain experience and, incidentally, make contact with the chosen one.
But he never expected that this scene would be broadcast so blatantly to the entire universe!
Where does this leave his reputation as a god-king? His daughter isn't even married yet, and she's already living with some random man?
Just as Tang San was still figuring out how to explain to Xiao Wu—
"Boom—!!!"
The sky over the entire divine realm suddenly turned a deep purple, and violent, destructive lightning rolled in the clouds. A terrifying pressure capable of destroying heaven and earth descended upon the Sea God Temple in an instant!
The door burst open, and a tall figure shrouded in a purple robe, exuding an aura of destruction, strode in.
One of the five great enforcers of the divine realm, the God of Destruction!
"Tang San!!!"
The voice of the God of Destruction was like rolling thunder, shaking even the Sea God Temple.
His purple eyes burned with fierce anger as he stared intently at Tang San.
"What on earth is going on?!"
"You're sending your daughter down to the mortal realm? Do you know that's against the rules?"
