Gwen stood up and equipped the Charms of Bezel bracelet.
Pink mana gathered in her hands, creating a glowing sphere.
Then, she chanted a spell—
"Teewat Ligara!"
A small tornado formed between her hands. Gwen adjusted its shape, making it bigger and bigger before throwing it toward the wasps.
Bzzz… Bzzz…
The buzzing wasps were swept away by the tornado's wind…
"Nice, it's working!" Keva exclaimed, pumping a fist in excitement.
Gwen remained calm and carefully controlled the tornado's intensity. Otherwise, it might damage stalls or buildings in Chinatown and knock people over, making the chaos even worse.
While Gwen did her best to keep everything under control, not everything went according to plan.
Because of the strong winds, a fire lantern fell down…
And coincidentally rolled toward a large curtain.
The curtain caught fire, and the flames quickly spread toward the place where a lot of fireworks were stored…
Talk about bad luck, a girl was hiding behind those same boxes.
She saw the flames coming toward her and screamed for help.
"Someone help!!!"
"Oh no!" Gwen looked towards the girl.
She was busy casting her spell and controlling the tornado, so she couldn't go and save her herself.
"Ben, help her!" Gwen called out to Ben.
Meanwhile, Ben was creating energy barriers around the people who might get injured if the stalls were destroyed and fell on them.
When Gwen called him, he looked over at the girl, and quickly created a barrier around her too, so she wouldn't get injured…

Max and Keva ran toward the girl…
The approaching flames had already reached the fireworks, and the fuse was ignited—
Seeing this, Max quickly grabbed a nearby cart filled with chicken dumplings.
Without hesitation, he pushed it toward the spreading flames and the girl…
The cart crashed into the fire, smothering the flames and the ignited fuse before it could cause an explosion.
It worked.
The immediate danger was over, and thankfully, because of Ben's barrier, the cart and dumplings didn't fall on the girl…
After Ben removed the barrier, she remained sitting there with her eyes tightly closed, still expecting an explosion at any moment…
But seconds passed and nothing happened.
Slowly and fearfully, she opened one eye… then the other as well…
She looked around in confusion before realizing that she was safe.
Finally, she let out a long sigh of relief and looked toward Max.
"Phew… Thank you, Gramps."
"Well, just don't mind smelling like chicken dumplings, haha." Max said jokingly.
"Are you injured?"
Keva checked on her, making sure she was alright.
[A/N: Her character development seems alright, right? Or should I do something more?]

After a while, Gwen's tornado had finally swept away the remaining wasps.
With the danger gone, she let out a tired sigh and wiped the sweat from her forehead.
"Phew… finally."
Max, Gwen, Keva, and Ben looked around the street. The town was a mess, but thankfully, everyone seemed to be safe.
Ben glanced around at the people on the street. Most of them had grabbed their family members and were either hiding away or simply sitting where they were, keeping their heads down and their eyes firmly shut as if that would somehow make all the chaos disappear.
Is this animation logic or something?
Seriously, so much has happened right in front of them, yet they just keep hiding away. Nobody noticed the magic barriers I created around them? Or the giant tornado Gwen just created out of nowhere?
And not a single person has even looked up to see what's happening.
Man, their survival instincts are like a fish's…
No, wait. That's too insulting to the fish. At least fish actually notice when something dangerous is coming and swim away.
These people? Forget it. Let's not complain about them.
"At least no one got seriously hurt," Ben said, glancing around.
"Hey, that insect guy took Miss Liang away, remember?" Keva pointed out, noticing that neither Miss Liang nor the insect guy was anywhere to be seen.
"We need to find her quickly," Max said, his expression turning serious.
"If I remember correctly, the insect guy said something about demolishing their home or something, right?" Ben said.
"Yeah…" Gwen nodded.
"He must have taken her there with him…"
"Let me check."
Gwen quickly headed over to the Rustbucket and opened her laptop, searching for information about the buildings scheduled for demolition.

Inside the Rustbucket—
"Got it!" Gwen exclaimed, scrolling through the information on her laptop.
"There's only one house left in Chinatown scheduled for demolition. It's at 8610 Chester Street. This has to be the place."
She turned the laptop around and showed Max the address.
"Then we'd better hurry."
Max nodded and started the Rustbucket, driving toward the building.

Inside the building ...
Miss Liang sat frozen in fear, watching the spiders crawling over her.
"Please… don't hurt me!" she pleaded, looking toward the insect guy.
"Black widows…" the insect guy warned. "Don't make any sudden movements."
He glanced around the old building, his expression softening as he looked at the insects surrounding him.
"Our grandfather built this place. We grew up here… just me and my little friends."
He looked fondly at the spiders.
"They're the only ones who understand me. Nobody bothers us here…"
His expression suddenly darkened as he turned his gaze back toward Miss Liang.
"And no one is going to take that away from us."

Ben and the others finally reached the old building and stopped outside, staring up at the rundown structure.
"Nice place to visit, but my hideout was way better than this," Keva said, looking over the dilapidated building. "I definitely wouldn't want to live here."
"Let's stick together," Max said as he led the way inside.
Ben, Gwen, and Keva followed close behind.
They carefully made their way through the crumbling building, stepping around debris and broken pieces of the structure.
"This place looks like it's going to collapse at any moment…" Keva said, glancing nervously at the cracked walls and damaged stairs.
"Hmm… just in case, let's do this."
Gwen raised her hand and created several mana platforms beneath them.
The platforms connected together, forming a solid, stable floor over the damaged sections of the building.
"Hm, that's convenient. Much better this way," Keva said with a nod.
The group continued exploring the building, checking the rooms one by one.
Ben stepped into one of the rooms and immediately noticed that the walls were covered with newspaper clippings and reports.
One headline in particular caught his attention:
"BUGS SURVIVE NUCLEAR BLAST"
Max, Gwen, and Keva entered the room behind him.
"They've gotta be somewhere around here…" Max said, looking around.
Keva glanced at the strange collection of bug-related articles and the numerous spiders and other insects crawling around them.
"Something tells me we're getting close…"
Suddenly—
"Help!!"
A fearful cry for help echoed through the building.
Everyone froze.
"That came from right above us," Max said.
Ben immediately reached for the Omnitrix.
"Time to cool things down."
He activated the Omnitrix and selected Big Chill before tapping the hologram.
The dial flashed green.
In a burst of green light, Ben's body transformed, his form shifting into that of the ghostly alien.
"Big Chill!"
"I'll go ahead. You can follow behind me…" Big Chill said in his ghostly voice.
He spread his wings and flew toward the wall. His body turned intangible, allowing him to pass straight through it. A thin layer of frost formed across the surface as he phased through.
"Let's go!" Max said.
Gwen and Keva nodded and followed him.

"Huhhh…"
Big Chill let out a frosty breath as he phased through the floor.
He emerged on the other side and immediately spotted Miss Liang sitting beside the wall, looking terrified.
Several spiders were crawling around her.
Big Chill quickly looked around the room and noticed a construction worker lying unconscious in the corner.
[A/N: I think he was eaten by the bugs in the series, but I slightly changed it here.]
"Well, looks like I'll have to freeze these spiders without hurting her, huh?" Big Chill muttered.
He returned to his tangible form.
"Woah—!"
Miss Liang startled at the sight of what appeared to be a blue ghost suddenly appearing in front of her.
However, she remained completely still because of the black widows crawling over her.
"Shh…" Big Chill said gently. "Just stay still. I'm here to save you. Don't worry."
He slowly approached her.
"Stop! Black widows…" Miss Liang warned him anxiously.
"Don't worry. Just relax."
Big Chill carefully released his icy breath, freezing the spiders crawling over her body one by one. The frost spread across parts of the room as the insects were safely immobilized.
Although the cold made Miss Liang shiver, she barely noticed it. After everything she'd been through, getting out of the building safely was all that mattered.
Once the danger was gone, she finally let out a shaky breath.
After nearly dying, her eyes unconsciously lingered on her rescuer…
Emotionally overwhelmed, She stood up with his help, hugging him tightly…
"Thanks…," She thanked him for helping her…
"Don't mention it, we came here to save you afterall ," Big Chill said holding her, felling her body tightly pressing onto him.
'Hmm... this feels like I am taking advantage of her.'
He tried to let go of her but she held him even more tightly herself .
'She must be scared after all the things she went through and nearly becoming a food of a bug weirdo, I should comfort her ,' He thought so in his mind and hugged her and patted her back too ...
'Well, what can I say , it feels nice and comfortable.' Big Chill thought and stopped trying to distance himself.
'Sigh, let her hold me then , I am such a good person taking care of her.' He nodded to himself , definitely not because he was feeling good .
All these perverted thoughts were going on in his mind .
"We?" Miss liang looked up onto his face and asked looking confused....
"Ah —yes, My family came with me too, to save you ." Big Chill said.
"Ben!" x3
While they were hugging each other , In that moment, Max, Gwen, and Keva entered the room in a hurry.
Seeing them entering the room , Miss liang finally woke up from her daze and seeing her hugging him so tightly her face flushed red and she let go of him quickly....
Creating some distance between them...
She coughed slightly to shake off her embarrassment.
Felling the softness pressing onto him gone , Big Chill shook his head with regret.
"We are alright. Miss Liang is safe ." Seeing them entering the room , He told them not to worry.
After Seeing her safe, they relaxed too…
