Tiny but clearly visible currents raced across Mtoto's body, leaving her so stunned she seemed unable to get a single word out.
A heavy silence spread between the two horse girls, but Xingyun Liuge had no intention of simply waiting there. She let out a soft laugh, a chill flashing through her eyes.
"Then I'm going to start accelerating now~"
After all, she had only lightly tapped Mtoto with Skullcrack. She had not used any other skill at all~
Well, that was only a small joke.
A white spherical shield flickered briefly in front of Xingyun Liuge. In truth, she had not really wanted to hit Mtoto that hard, but the compatibility between them was simply too perfect. She had not been able to resist.
Sky-Splitting, Earth-Shaking had a very special application: it could absorb lightning and convert it into her own power.
Xingyun Liuge had long wanted to test it openly and properly.
Unfortunately, none of the other horse girls had the ability to discharge electricity, so she had been forced to wait. Thankfully, Mtoto had not retired yet, or this would have been awkward.
So Xingyun Liuge deliberately added,
"It's really wonderful being able to run together with you, Senior Mtoto. Truly."

But that was not the truth.
That arc only seemed to dissipate into the air. In reality, it followed Mtoto's will, absorbing the free ions around it and forcing negative and positive charges into collision.
Boom!
A pale lightning flash erupted from her bangs and slammed into Xingyun Liuge's shoulder. Even under the clear sky, the girls farther behind could clearly see the discharge and the current flickering through the air.
Lightning Spear: slightly reduces the opponent's stamina and inflicts a minor speed decrease.
"Hah… hah…"
Mtoto felt her breathing grow rougher, but she had no intention of giving up. She refused to lose.
It was just one shock. Nothing serious. Back when she had been practicing a front-running style, she had accidentally electrocuted herself more times than she could count.
She believed she still had the strength to keep running.
Even if Xingyun Liuge was already half a length ahead of her, even if her legs now seemed capable only of moving on mechanically, as long as she held onto this breath and refused to surrender, there had to be a way forward.
What was more, she had just managed to trouble Xingyun Liuge at least a little, and Xingyun Liuge's way of using her domain was so grand and overbearing that the outcome was still impossible to predict.

As the gap between them widened to two lengths, Mtoto truly panicked. Even her words came out broken and disjointed, but her body reacted faster than speech ever could.

This time, Mtoto witnessed the true horror of Xingyun Liuge.
Her Lightning Spear struck Xingyun Liuge's hair, but there was no scorched smell at all. The lightning she released vanished into Xingyun Liuge's hair like a clay ox sinking into the sea.
Then she saw Xingyun Liuge run even faster.
It was as though the lightning had not slowed her at all—but instead had restored a noticeable portion of her stamina.

How could there possibly be a horse girl in this world who could turn another person's power into her own?
Domains were supposed to clash, not merge. There was no such thing as fusion, devouring, or domination between them. Only one side completely shattering the other—that was how it worked.
Mtoto's breathing became erratic. Refusing to accept it, she began charging up something far stronger.
A massive bolt of lightning descended from the sky, so thick that it would have taken several horse girls holding hands to wrap around it. It struck the turf directly in front of Xingyun Liuge. If Xingyun Liuge did not want to be hit, then she would have to slow down and dodge.
Mtoto thought:
That way, I'll finally have—
What?!
Her eyes nearly split apart.
Because she saw Xingyun Liuge not only refuse to slow down, but actually charge straight into the lightning she had unleashed with everything she had.
Xingyun Liuge bathed herself in that violent blaze of thunder.
And then—
for once, Xingyun Liuge turned her head and opened her mouth, as though she wanted to say something.
Yet to outside observers, the image she created was far less heroic and kind than she herself might have intended.
She parted her lips, fierce and savage, yet somehow carrying a natural elegance that felt utterly effortless—
and bit down on the falling thunderbolt.
The dancing arcs lit up her teeth, illuminated her features, and then abruptly disappeared at the edge of her lips without leaving behind even the slightest trace.
There was no tearing, no gnawing—only the ease of biting through a chocolate stick, the delight of popping candy melting in the mouth.
There was no explosive roar, no earth-shaking tremor. Only the overwhelming force of the crowd's shrieking cries.
It was as if that violent lightning had never existed at all, as though everything had merely been a shared hallucination among the horse girls.
But was it an illusion?
Obviously not.
Xingyun Liuge had crushed the thunder that split the sky.
She was a monster fiercer and stronger than thunder itself.
Mtoto's face turned deathly pale.
She had never imagined that what she thought was sufficient respect had not been respect at all. Xingyun Liuge's power was far beyond anything she had imagined.
What kind of horse girl bit through another person's domain with a single bite?
Those teeth, that appetite—it was absurd!
Before the eyes of the entire crowd, Xingyun Liuge widened the gap to five lengths. Mtoto clearly had no hope of catching up anymore.
The other horse girls had even less chance. The third-place runner trailed Mtoto by three lengths, with no possibility whatsoever of closing the gap.
The result was obvious.
Victory and defeat had already been decided.
And yet, in that situation—when no further effort was necessary—Xingyun Liuge lowered her center of gravity, and the lightning shrouding her once again turned ferocious.
In the horse girls' eyes, the monster formed of lightning leapt high into the air and crashed down with savage force.
A formless shockwave burst outward, and the entire racecourse shook violently, as if the earth itself had rolled over.
Amid the violent trembling, the sharp cry of the commentator rang out:
"The finish! First place goes to Xingyun Liuge! She takes the Eclipse Stakes with an overwhelming advantage! The legend of total victory without a single defeat still continues!"
