Chapter Four
Tang Ruo glanced around in question, where on cultivation realms has this portal spitted me out into?
She shivered from the bone shattering cold and quickly drew out a light but full white cloak from within her bag but it came directly from her space.
The original owner had lot and lots of good things, she was even surprised that she hadn't given them all out to those ungrateful bastards.
She shook her head and glanced around before calling out inside her head.
"System? Where is this place?"
*Host, this should be the Glacial Oblivion,*
"Glaci-what now?" She asked, unable t even pronounce the name and the system chuckled in amusement.
*Glacial Oblivion, it's a forgotten realm. If I'm correct then this was the battle field of the immortals who fought each other many many years ago…*
So….there must be lots and lots of good swords here fork the fallen right?
*That…is correct,*
Good. Do you have any means to track them all down?
*Unfortunately, no. That's all up to the rewards you receive after completing each mission..*
She deflated at that but immediately shook it off and glanced around.
"There seems to be lots and lots of spiritual energy here," she mused, glancing at the trail of Golden energy that kept flirting past her as if condensing and scattering without anyone to take it.
*If you use your pill now, I guess you can get a better spiritual root due to the richness in spiritual energy here. It would even aid you in reducing the pain!*
Really? Alright, let me try.
She quickly sat down in the position she had learnt now, held the premise for every meditation and pulled out the pill from her space.
Then she steeled herself and swallowed it before closing her eyes and making a small hand movement and instantly, her entire body lit up.
Outside the realm, everyone held their breath as they watched Tang Ruo seem to relax in her meditation…some even mused that she had fallen asleep.
Her master glanced away, unable to let anyone see the embarrassment this little girl was causing him but just then, a loud roar filled the air and they all snapped their heads back to The Mirror Of Myriad Destinies.
Only to discover that Tang Ruo has fallen asleep and there was a demonic wolf pack of six on her route.
Her master shot to his feet, even though this disciple of his was not at all useful and only knew how to cause trouble, he didn't think she deserves death.
"Tang Ruo, if you don't move now…I swear I'll make you suffer when you get back here!" He gritted out, concern for her etched into his eyes but he refused to let it show as many other disciples began to leave the portal with their swords.
Even Tang Yanli was holding onto a grade three sword and grinning happily as she thought of how to disgrace Tang Ruo with it.
Then they all turned to The Mirror Of Myriad Destinies after checking the disciples and masters attention on it only to find a napping Tang Ruo and six demonic wolf pack enroute to her.
Tang Yanli smirked, hoping they'd tear her into pieces.
Tang Ruo felt something crawling within her, snapping at her and at something else as she sat there and furrowed her brows in question.
It looked a lot like electricity, and was that frost? How had it entered her body? Wasn't the snow and frost supposed to be outside? Well, she knew she didn't know much about this cultivation stuff but seriously, was she so dumb and didn't awaken any spiritual root?
Only to drag in snow with her?
Something seemed to curl up within her and she felt her hand shoot out to the side as her eyes opened and slowly, she grinned as she produced two Frostpulse fruits and began to eat them.
Outside, everyone stared at her as if she had gone crazy as the demonic wolves began to get closer.
What was this foolish disciple doing when she was supposed to be running away?
"Master Luo, It would seem you would be losing a disciple today.." one of the other sect masters commented with mockery and his brows quivered slightly but he refused to pay him any mind.
After Tang Ruo finished with the first fruit, she began to eat the second fruit as she walked around…checking to see if she would find any sword just…sticking out somewhere.
System, this is so futile…how do I find a sword in such an expanse of white?
*According to what I know, the sword will…..danger incoming, danger incoming, host run!!!*
Her brows furrowed at the insistent cries within her mind and she turned around to check what it was when she saw countless red eyes staring at her.
She took just a second to understand what it was and when they finally left the covers of the white bushes, her eyes widened as she let out a terrified screech and turned to flee.
But they did not give her any chance to do so and quickly surrounded her. It was wolves….evil looking wolves with red eyes.
They look so fluffy, and white! Wish she could let them…
Growl!!!
Screams!!! No touching!! No petting the big bad wolves!!
Run!!
*Demonic wolves, six in numbers. Was once Golden chariots for an immortal whose name seems to have been scraped out of history. They turned evil after the war, due to the evil energy the war left behind…*
So…they're not inherently evil?
*No, but they can be cleansed with your healing pills…top grades of course… but that is risky!*
Yeah I know it's risky and I'm not doing it.
She screamed as one of them lunged at her and then her body seemed to move, sending her jumping back a few steps into the air before she spun around and did some hand movement she didn't know what it meant but a crackle filled the air and the wolf was sent flying as electricity shot out of her hands and slammed into it.
Her eyes widened at what had happened as she landed on her feet before she began to check her arms, glancing around her in search of what had made her do all these but found nothing.
Had the original owner been training secretly and she didn't know about it?
Was that what muscle memory is called?
The wolves all turned to her, eyes bleeding red completely before they all launched a pack attack on her and her eyes widened as her body moved once again but this time felt different from before.
She felt spiritual energy being sucked into her body as she jumped into the air and raised her hands up into the skies, as if summoning something.
Then out of nowhere, a sword materialized in her hands—it was glowing pure gold and had beautiful runes running alongside its body….it looked so sharp and she knew at a glance that it would be fatal to these wolves.
Shaking her head but unable to stop herself, she swung her arms and a sharp slice filled the air, aimed at the incoming wolves.
Something seemed to flash in their eyes at that moment and she found acceptance in them…the heck?
Groaning at her stupid heart, she darted forward,b hoping to beat the sword slice but before she could get there, it slammed right into them and they all howled in pain as they were sent flying back
And while they were still howling at the blast, she slammed four pills each into their snouts and they swallowed without even meaning to.
*Host? Four pills? Do you want to kill them?*
Huh? Too small or too big?
*Too big and host look! You got a sword!!* She glanced at her side to find a sword flying beside her as if watching her movements and she could somehow sense curiosity coming from it.
"....hmm, seems like you have a heart!" She blinked at the masculine voice and glanced around in question but found no one around her.
"I'm I hearing things now? Is that the level I've gotten to in this world?" She mumbled and heard a scoff.
"....I'm not a hallucination, you idiot! I'm right here!" The sword flew up to stand in front of her and once again, she blinked.
"What on cultivation worlds is this? What are you? Some sort o—"
"I'm called….Hailrend!" "Not some sort of sword!"
Outside the realm, everyone gasped in shock.
Hailrend?
