A day had passed.
An uninvited guest arrived at Lanba Academy.
As soon as Li Yusong, the gatekeeper, saw the bright red formal attire the guest was wearing, his eyes widened in surprise.
The tuxedo was covered in gold and silver patterns, and a golden gem the size of a baby's fist hung from the chest.
Well-traveled and well-informed as he was, Li Yusong recognized it immediately.
A Titled Douluo!
This was a custom-made ceremonial robe that only Titled Douluos certified by the Soul Hall were permitted to wear.
The Titled Douluo—with an alluring appearance and an age and gender impossible to discern—spoke in a detached tone.
"Is this Lanba Academy?"
A flustered Li Yusong hurriedly replied.
"Your Majesty, this is indeed Lanba Academy."
"Is there a student here named Tang San?"
"Your Majesty, there is indeed such a student."
"Take me to him. I have questions for him."
"Oh, well…"
Li Yusong was taken aback. Before Yue Guan arrived, both Dugu Bo and Yu Xiaowei had warned him.
If anyone wanted to see Tang San, they were to refuse without exception.
But they hadn't said what to do if a Titled Douluo wanted to see Tang San.
"What's the matter? Is there a problem?"
Seeing Li Yusong's hesitant expression, Yue Guan narrowed her eyes slightly and asked with a displeased look.
"Teacher Li, let me receive this senior on your behalf."
Hearing that familiar voice, Yue Guan immediately thought of the young man outside the Xingdou Great Forest who had consumed the Miraculous Antler Heaven-Reaching Chrysanthemum.
Once he got a clear look at the figure behind Li Yusong, his expression lit up with delight. He darted forward and stood before Yu Xiaowei, gazing at the tall teenager with satisfaction, as if admiring a work of art.
"Hmm, "Not bad, not bad. Vital energy flows through his limbs, and blood circulates through his eight meridians—he's already fully absorbed the medicinal power of the Miraculous Antler Heaven-Reaching Chrysanthemum."
"What a pity—he's actually that old fossil Yu Yuan Zhen's nephew. Damn it, if he were my disciple, he'd be at least a Soul Master by now."
The more Yue Guan looked at him, the more he felt a sense of regret. Such a promising young talent, yet he'd been snatched up by that old geezer Yu Yuan Zhen—he couldn't help but let out a curse.
Yu Xiaowei didn't say a word; instead, he just chuckled.
That damn cross-dresser really couldn't see through Gu Rong's disguise—he actually thought I was just a Soul Venerable.
"Senior, please follow me. I'll take you to find Tang San."
"All right."
Yue Guan nodded. The more he looked at Yu Xiaowei, the more he liked him, but whenever he thought of Yu Yuan Zhen's sour expression, he couldn't help but let out a long sigh to the heavens.
Why isn't a talent like this part of their Soul Hall!
Along the way, Yu Xiaowei led Yue Guan on a tour of Lanba Academy, pointing things out from time to time and introducing the academy's unique features.
When she saw the students running laps on the field, Yue Guan snorted disdainfully.
"That's the kind of training method only barbarians would use."
"Oh? Do you perhaps have a better method, Senior?"
"Of course I do. At our Martial Soul Hall Academy, we all—"
At this point, Yue Guan suddenly paused and fell silent.
Seeing that he wouldn't say any more, Yu Xiaowei didn't press the matter. Instead, he led him forward and pointed smugly at the newly constructed simulated training environment.
"Senior, look—this is the simulation training environment sponsored by our Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan. It's the most advanced one available right now. With this, our students' cultivation progress has skyrocketed compared to before."
This time, Yue Guan did not disparage Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Academy; instead, he nodded.
"This is indeed impressive. Your Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan has certainly spared no effort for your academy."
Then, he asked, seemingly offhandedly.
"What's the highest soul power level among the students at your academy?"
"Hey, never mind—it's only Level 39. How embarrassing. Oh, right, Senior, that guy over there is my nephew. He's not very talented, so I hope you'll give him some guidance when you see him later."
"Huh? Why not let me give you some guidance instead?"
Yue Guan was a bit puzzled. Who wouldn't want guidance from a Super Douluo? Why did this kid just pass the buck to his nephew?
However, the sincere tone of Yu Xiaowei's next words nearly made him faint with rage.
"My uncle won't let me. He says you're no good and will kidnap me just like Saras did."
"That damn old bastard, Yu Yuanzhen!"
Yue Guan stared at Yu Xiaowei, his face ashen.
That good-for-nothing—is he really honest, or just pretending? How could he say something like that?
Don't you know that even if something is true, you shouldn't go around telling everyone about it!
Especially not right in front of me!
"Cut the crap. Keep leading the way."
"Got it—"
After crossing most of the campus, Yu Xiaowei led Yue Guan to a lush little grove.
This seemingly ordinary grove actually concealed a small poison formation; without the academy's pass, it was impossible to get through.
"Huh, this poison formation."
Yue Guan looked at the familiar poison formation and couldn't help but be a little surprised.
Yu Xiaowei smiled as he verified the pass.
"It was designed by Professor Dugu Bo. He's currently teaching open-enrollment courses at our academy."
"That old poison master Dugu Bo is teaching here now?"
Yue Guan looked even more astonished; he'd been dealing with that old poison master for decades, and the two of them had fought countless times.
Dugu Bo's greatest skill was poison, but as luck would have it, Yue Guan's "Heaven-Reaching Chrysanthemum" just happened to counter all poisons.
So every time the two fought, Yue Guan would thoroughly beat the old poison master.
However, Dugu Bo possesses a Medusa Soul Bone—a truly annoying item that can even petrify soul power.
On several occasions, Yue Guan was so enraged that he wanted to kill this annoying guy outright, but each time, Dugu Bo managed to escape with his life thanks to Medusa's Gaze.
"That's right, Senior. Teacher Dugu owes me 3 million gold soul coins and can't pay it back, so he came to the academy to work off his debt."
"We're here, Senior. Tang San is right over there."
Yue Guan snapped out of his daze upon hearing the phrase "working to pay off debts." He truly hadn't expected a titled Douluo to be this destitute.
Banishing those strange thoughts from his mind, he looked at the emaciated teenager Yu Xiaowei had led out of the dark room.
The boy was sallow and emaciated, staggering as he walked; a black cloth covered one of his eyes. He had barely taken two steps out the door before collapsing to the ground.
Yu Xiaowei pointed at Tang San without hesitation and said,
"This kid got into a bit of trouble, so he's being punished. Senior, feel free to ask whatever you want—once you're done, he'll have to go back and continue his punishment."
Yue Guan's mouth twitched slightly. What kind of academy was this, punishing students so harshly?
Even at the Soul Hall Academy, where standards were so strict, they didn't torture students like this.
Of course, he certainly wouldn't feel any sympathy for Tang San, who was suspected of being an enemy of the Soul Hall.
Suddenly, Yue Guan's bright red ceremonial robe stirred silently on its own, and an immense, invisible pressure bore down on Tang San.
"Ah—"
The intense pain caused Tang San to let out a blood-curdling scream.
The overwhelming pressure caused his body to tremble, and his Blue Silver Grass Soul Skill automatically activated to resist the soul power pressure emanating from the Titled Douluo.
It must be said that Yue Guan's control of soul power was far more refined than Dugu Bo's; the pressure he applied to Tang San was calculated to perfection.
It was neither too heavy—which might have accidentally killed Tang San—nor too light—which wouldn't have forced his Soul Skill to manifest.
If Dugu Bo had been the one to test him, Tang San would likely have been dead the moment the soul power was released.
"Thirteen years old, Blue Silver Grass as his Soul Skill, Level 31 Soul Power—everything matches up. The intelligence is most likely accurate."
Yue Guan nodded to herself and continued to increase the pressure.
Tang San, lying face-down on the ground, was already soaked in cold sweat.
He wanted to channel the Xuantian Art to relieve the pressure, but having gone without food for five days, his limbs were weak and unsteady, and the flow of his soul power was extremely sluggish—he simply lacked the strength to resist.
"If I can't hold out, I'll die. If I can't hold out, I'll die. If I can't hold out, I'll die."
The thought of death involuntarily surfaced in Tang San's mind. Once that thought took root, it spiraled out of control, filling his mind completely.
He had already died once.
He didn't want to die again!!!
"Haaah!!!"
With a low shout, a dense black light surged from Tang San's left hand, gradually coalescing into shape.
A small black hammer appeared silently in his hand.
Gazing at the deep, somber patterns on the small hammer, Yue Guan laughed savagely.
"It really is a Twin Soul! It really is the Haotian Hammer!"
