Chapter 136 - Chapter 141...

Chapter 141, Chapter 138. The Abnormal Boy Crow

Lynn witnessed the entire capture operation last night, including Quirrell's final actions.

Everything went very smoothly, perfectly resolving the risk of the plot deviating from its intended course.

Not only that, Snape sent someone to find him early on the third day after the event.

"This is your share of the bounty."

He handed Lynn a heavy cloth bag.

The bag didn't look big, but it was filled with countless Galleons.

Lynn looked at Snape in bewilderment.

"Professor, why is there a share for me?"

Snape still had that stiff, cold face.

"This was arranged by Dumbledore. He said that as the informant and the initiator of the plan, you should receive one-third of the total bounty."

Lynn waved the unexpected sum of money in his hand, not showing much surprise.

Only five thousand Galleons, is that a lot?

  He asked hesitantly.

"Didn't Professor Dumbledore tell anyone that I was the first to discover those dark wizards?"

"No, only he and I know about it."

Lynn breathed a sigh of relief; he didn't want to be targeted by Quirrell or Voldemort so soon.

"Thank you, Professor. I'm going to class now."

Lynn turned to leave Snape's office when Snape suddenly called him back.

He looked at Snape with a puzzled expression.

  Snape said coldly.

"Don't squander your money now that you suddenly have it; learn to save some for emergencies."

Lynn was stunned for a moment before coming to his senses.

  "I will save it, Professor."

  "Then get out of here!"

  ...

There were still two months left until the end of the semester.

The atmosphere throughout Hogwarts noticeably became tense.

Even the students who were usually playful began to realize that the final exams were approaching, and if they didn't start reviewing now, they would be met with an angry T (Troll) grade from the professor.

Lynn's daily routine remained largely unchanged.

His days were still a monotonous cycle of refining the Impaler's Spell, practicing Dark Magic Diffusion, and his regular spell studies.

  Everything proceeded smoothly and systematically.

  One day, Hermione found Lynn.

They went to the library together. Hermione had recently encountered some trouble while reviewing the history of magic, and Lynn could offer her some advice.

However, their conversation veered off course before they had even finished ten minutes of discussing history of magic.

"We got some information out of Hagrid a few days ago that many professors are involved in guarding the Philosopher's Stone. The heads of all four houses are involved, as are Professor Quirrell and Hagrid himself. I feel the defense of the Philosopher's Stone is foolproof; Snape definitely won't succeed,"

  the girl said confidently.

  Lynn casually replied...

"Yes, it's absolutely foolproof, but don't you find that strange?"

  "Strange what?"

"Something as important as the Philosopher's Stone, if Professor Dumbledore really wanted to hide it, couldn't he just carry it with him every day? It's not that big; it could fit in a pocket. Why would he go to such lengths to have so many professors help him set up barriers and specifically place it in the fourth-floor corridor for protection? Wouldn't that just draw more attention?"

Hearing Lynn say this, Hermione felt something was indeed amiss, but she couldn't figure it out even after thinking for a long time.

"Perhaps Professor Dumbledore has his own reasons."

Lynn could only offer this much advice. Although Hermione was clever, she was still too young to comprehend the complex schemes and plots of adults.

"Oh, right," the little girl suddenly whispered to Lynn, as if she had remembered something.

"Hagrid recently won a dragon egg, and he's been taking good care of it. It looks like the baby dragon will hatch soon. Would you like to come and see it?"

Hearing Hermione say this, Lynn couldn't help but narrow his eyes.

Quirrell had already used the dragon egg to get the method to get through to Fluffy from Hagrid, which meant that the time he was waiting for was getting closer and closer.

But Lynn wasn't interested in the dragon egg itself; he shook his head and said…

"Forget it, I'm not interested in dragons,"

Hermione retorted. "Harry and Ron said that any normal boy would be interested in dragons."

"They said it has to be a normal boy, do you think I'm normal?"

  "…No."

  "That's settled then."

Having learned the Animagus and the Disillusionment Charm, Lynn's actions at Hogwarts became much easier.

For example, he could now better monitor Quirrell's movements, observing whether he was planning to enter the Forbidden Forest or do anything else.

However, after the last Hogwarts professors' collective effort to capture the dark wizard, Quirrell seemed much more obedient.

He spent all his time outside of class in his office, and perhaps because of this, his face looked increasingly pale, like a dying man.

Meanwhile, while observing Quirrell, Lynn also spied on Hermione, Harry, and Ron's lives whenever he had a spare moment.

On the very day Hagrid's dragon hatched, Lynn transformed into a crow and landed on a branch near Hagrid's hut.

From there, he couldn't see anything inside Hagrid's hut, but he could clearly see a figure lurking outside, peering in furtively.

  It was Malfoy.

Ever since Lynn secretly taught that brat a lesson with three evil curses, he hadn't learned his lesson; instead, he'd become even more audacious.

For example, right now, he'd actually secretly followed Harry and the others to Hagrid's hut.

Luckily, his teeth weren't there, otherwise, he would have been torn to pieces before Hagrid even came to his rescue.

Soon, the three little ones and Hagrid, who were observing the dragon hatching inside, also noticed Malfoy peeking from outside. As soon as they opened the door, Malfoy slipped away like a cat that had stolen some cream.

Just as Lynn was about to end his reconnaissance for the day and return to the castle, a crow suddenly flew out of the Forbidden Forest and landed beside him.

Lynn turned to look at the crow; it was nothing special, just an ordinary crow commonly found in the forest.

However, the crow's subsequent behavior was somewhat strange.

Its small eyes looked at Lynn with great excitement, and then it approached him in small, hesitant steps.

Lynn was a little puzzled, thinking the crow had something to tell him.

"Caw caw caw! (Handsome guy, let's have some fun!)"

  "Slap!"

Lynn's face darkened, and he swatted the crow away with a wing, then spread his wings and flew towards Hogwarts.

Boys really need to protect themselves when they're out in the world; being targeted by girls is bad enough, but to have a female crow harass him too!
