Chapter 122 - Dream Walking.

Soon his physical form materialized in a space completely different from where he was before.

In his mind, Jace laughed in excitement. He was in a dream!

Jace opened his eyes and looked around in amazement; he was in a different place than before.

He stood in what seemed like a luxurious bedroom. It was dark, and there was a balcony covered with white flowing curtains and a crimson moon shining through it.

The environment here was quite surreal and dreamy—which made sense considering it was indeed a dream.

"Chu~, ~~mm—chu~~"

Jace's eyebrow twitched as he turned his head away from the balcony and looked at the bed in the middle of the room.

'Ugh!'

He had known before entering the dream that this was a... 18+ dream, but now that he was here, he couldn't help but feel a bit disgusted. Thankfully, he hadn't seen the whole image because even the bed was covered with flowing curtains.

On the bed, Jace could see the chubby man—whose dream he had entered—pinning down a young woman with black hair. She was likely pretty, but Jace couldn't see her face.

Nonetheless, Jace focused more on the powers he could use in the dream. According to what he knew, when a Dream Walker enters a dream, he can entirely control the dream and the person in it.

So the first thing he did was change the environment. He looked at the balcony and willed the night to turn into day, and it happened.

The red moon faded and the dark sky lightened; soon, the soft light of the morning sun fell through the curtains.

He could still hear the chubby man kissing passionately with the young woman. He had to say, while the man seemed to be in his mid-40s, the woman was in her early 20s their intimate scenes looked quite contradicting considering the age gap as well as body type.

The young woman was likely a real person whom the chubby man was attracted to, and now he was dreaming of her.

As for who the young woman was... Jace could easily find out. All he had to do was use Telepathy.

According to what he knew, things like Telepathy and Hypnosis were dangerously effective in dreams.

Because when a person is awake, his mind is awake as well, and the subconscious mind naturally has walls of defense, which makes the person somewhat resistant to Telepathy and Hypnosis.

But a dream was different. A dream was directly connected to the person's subconscious without any filters or walls, so there was no resistance at all when using Telepathy or Hypnosis.

So Jace tried it out. He turned around and looked at the man who was on top of the woman through the curtains around the bed.

He used 'Telepathy', and as he had expected, it was truly bizarre. He could not only read the thoughts the man was thinking, he could also figure out what the man had thought before; he could even read the thoughts that the man was not thinking but were still in his head.

And a moment later, a small frown appeared on his face.

The young woman was the chubby man's wife's little sister, and she was only 20 years old.

He flicked his hand and made the young woman disappear, leaving only the man on the bed.

"Your wife's sister is your sister. You are not attracted to her. Be faithful to your wife, treat her well."

Jace said a few statements using the power of Hypnosis.

Thankfully, the man had only dreamt about this and never dared to touch the girl.

The Hypnosis should last for a lifetime, considering it was performed on a mundane man and in a dream at that.

So now his subconscious itself would prevent him from being attracted to the girl and make him treat her as though she was his own sister; it would also make him be faithful to his wife and treat her well.

What Jace did here just might change his life significantly.

'Now, let's jump to another dream!' Jace turned away from the bed and walked to the wall. He willed the wall to disappear to reveal the world outside the dream island.

Outside, the world was different. As he had expected, he could see dozens of colorful dream islands floating around—which was weird considering it was morning and not many people were asleep, but he realized that there were thousands of people around here, so it was normal for a few people to wake up late.

Without wasting a moment, Jace jumped off the dream island. As he did, he felt as though he were floating in water; he tried to move his body and swam ahead.

There were several dream islands ahead of him, some big, some small. He could hazily see into them. He also realized that not all of the islands belonged to humans; some belonged to dogs and horses. It was likely unwise of Jace to enter the dreams of creatures that were not humans.

As he looked around while floating, he saw a few dream islands sink down while dematerializing. This indicated the fact that the person woke up and their dream island sunk back into the... 'Sea of Collective Subconscious'.

He had been trying to ignore it, but it was impossible to ignore it.

He turned his head down and gazed upon the boundless ocean of swirling luminescent neon lights. It stretched wider than his eyes could see... this was the 'Sea of Collective Subconscious'.

While the dream islands floated in a dark void, below it was the colorful sea; it was truly a sight to behold.

But it was a dangerous place, and Jace had no intention of exploring it anytime soon.

Besides, he wondered if he could even enter it through his marionette, and he was going to discard this marionette in about a month or two anyway.

Jace disregarded his thoughts, quickly selected an island to jump into, and started swimming toward it.

Within seconds he was there. He broke the wall of the dream and walked in. Without wasting any time, he used 'Telepathy' to know about the person in the dream and what their troubles or desires were.

This time it was a young student at a university, dreaming of success. But in reality, he had social troubles as well as problems with studying; it wasn't that he was not smart, he was just so lazy that he put things off until it was too late.

So Jace uttered a few statements using Hypnosis that would likely help the student solve most of his problems.

Seeing that his work here was done, Jace exited the dream and entered another one.

It was an arrogant teenager from a rich family, then it was an unfaithful wife, a mean teenage girl, a middle-aged man who was suffering from depression...

Jace gave them each a few statements of Hypnosis that would likely change their lives.

He also noticed that making his marionette walk in dreams and change people's lives was quite a good way to digest the potion—seeing how the digestion rate was faster than ever—but it was going to be a long journey nonetheless.

Jace continued walking in dreams until the spirituality of his new marionette was almost extinguished.

He then walked out into the bedroom of the person whose dream he had just been to..

He was about a couple of kilometers away from the area where he had defeated the doctor and made him his marionette.

Jace snapped his fingers, fire jumped away from the bedroom, and walked into the streets.

His hunt was successful; he now had a Sequence 5 marionette.

Now it was time to go home.
