Chapter 17 - "Recovery" In Progress.

Ylva carried Jason through the bustling streets of Eldrath until they reached a large, well-lit tavern called The Silver Lantern. The building had sturdy wooden beams and warm light spilling out from its windows. She pushed the heavy door open with her shoulder and stepped inside, still supporting most of Jason's weight.

The moment they entered, Jason noticed the different species here — fox-like beings with sleek tails, scaled lizardfolk, tall bird-headed creatures, and even a few minotaurs nursing drinks in the corners. Almost every head turned toward them. The moment their eyes met his, many of them looked startled, as if they thought they recognized him. Some whispered quickly to each other, ears perking up or scales shifting.

"That isn't creepy at all…" Jason muttered under his breath, keeping his voice low.

Ylva ignored the stares and walked straight to the counter. The receptionist was a slender cat-like creature with soft gray fur and wide golden eyes. The moment she saw Jason, she recoiled visibly, ears flattening against her head and her tail puffing up.

Ylva took note of this momentary change. She had no idea what was going on but knew not to ask about it, as it would only draw more attention. Instead, she kept her tone steady.

"How much for a room?" Ylva asked, reaching into a small pouch at her waist. Jason noticed she had money on her — a few shiny coins that her parents must have slipped her before they left. He couldn't complain. If anything, this worked in his favor.

The receptionist's eyes darted between Ylva and Jason again, clearly nervous. "We… we do not accept elf coins!" she said quickly, her voice higher than normal.

Jason blinked, remembering what the elder werewolf had said about him looking like an elf. Thanks to his smooth features and lean build, these creatures had mistaken him for a female elf. Of course, Jason had no idea.

"He is not a—!" Ylva started, but Jason quickly wrapped his hand around her mouth to shut her up.

They were being given a free pass and she wanted to ruin it with honesty. Fuck being honest. He was a flying dragon for all he cared right now.

The receptionist swallowed hard. "N-no charge for the room tonight," she said, her ears still flat. "Top floor, third door on the left. Please… enjoy your stay."

Jason removed his hand from Ylva's mouth and flashed the receptionist his best charming smile. "Thank you very much. We really appreciate the kindness."

The cat-like creature nodded rapidly and handed over a simple iron key without another word. Despite the multiple languages that existed here, there was a universal language in such big cities. This was something taught to Ylva as part of her upbringing, but she still glared at Jason as the creature led them up the creaky wooden stairs and into the room.

The room was surprisingly big for a medieval tavern. It had a large soft bed piled with thick blankets, a sturdy wooden table, two chairs, and a bowl of fresh fruits on the side. Warm lantern light filled the space. This was definitely medieval, but not primitive.

"This is so beautiful!" Jason said, looking around with genuine surprise.

Before he could turn around, Ylva pinned him to the bed with surprising strength, her body pressing down on his.

"You fool! Why did you lie?" Ylva growled, her face inches from his.

Jason raised a confused brow. "Because free things are good?"

Ylva kissed her teeth in irritation. "We could have paid! Now they think you are some delicate elf maiden and—"

Before she could finish, Jason's cock poked her from beneath through his pants. This startled her, prompting her to jump up slightly.

Jason chuckled at her reaction. "You cannot blame me. You are smoking hot."

He didn't try to push for sex, just lay there grinning. Ylva glared at him for a moment longer before climbing off. Jason stood up and walked over to the window to look out. The city of Eldrath stretched below — it looked just like an Amish village mixed with fantasy. Creatures that looked like they came straight out of a horror movie walked alongside ones that looked like they came straight out of a fairytale. Floating lights drifted between buildings, and the palace on the hill glowed in the distance.

"This place is huge!" Jason said, genuinely impressed.

Before he could say anything else, he turned his head toward Ylva. What met his eyes was her thin layer of clothing already on the floor. She stood there completely naked, her massive breasts and strong, curvaceous body on full display.

"Huh?" Jason was surprised. She had jumped up earlier, so he assumed she didn't want to.

"W-Will this help you relax?" Ylva asked, her voice a little startled. It was hard to tell if this was an act or not. Her ears were slightly lowered and her tail flicked nervously behind her.

Jason's eyes widened, taking in every inch of her. There was no way he was going to turn this down.

"Hell fucking yeah!" he said, voice full of excitement.

Ylva stepped closer, her hands resting on his chest. "You are still injured. I will be careful this time."

Jason smirked, his hands gently sliding to her hips. "Careful sounds good. But don't hold back too much. I survived blunt force trauma today — I can handle you."

She pushed him back onto the bed again, this time slower, climbing on top of him. Her heavy breasts pressed against his chest as she leaned down, her breath warm against his neck.

"You talk too much," she muttered, but there was no real anger in it.

"And you like it," Jason replied, running his hands up her sides. "Admit it, wolf girl. You didn't bring me here just to rest."

Ylva growled softly, nipping at his ear. "Maybe I didn't. Now shut up and let me take care of you..."

Jason laughed quietly, pulling her closer. The pain in his body was still there, but right now, with Ylva's warm, naked body on top of him and the soft bed beneath, he couldn't think of a better way to recover in the city of Eldrath.
