Out of the half corpse, Layla's shoes, and her sudden change in behavior, Cia couldn't help but find the whole situation suspicious. At first, she was hesitant on getting so close, not wanting to get hurt, but now she needed to see more.
Just then, several red lines slashed into the large beast, and although they couldn't see just who fired them, Peter recognized that color. It meant that they were using their vampire powers out in the open.
'Crap, I have to get Cia out of here. If she sees them doing vampire stuff, then she'll figure out that they aren't human!' Peter worried, 'As much as I'd like to stay and help my friends, I'm too weak to help in a fight. I'll just have to trust that they can do this themselves.'
"Cia, we have to go, now!" Peter harshly whispered, and tugged at her sleeve.
