Chapter 15 - The Truth of the Fire

Mr. P appeared with three people as they headed toward a certain location.

Mr. P asked,

"Are you all ready?"

One of them replied,

"Maybe."

Meanwhile, at Orlim Academy, Kazuya was walking alone outside.

Suddenly, the Crow-Masked Man appeared before him.

"Hello," he said.

Kazuya was startled and prepared to cast a spell.

The Crow-Masked Man replied,

"I'm not here to fight."

Kazuya frowned.

"And you expect me to believe that?"

The Crow-Masked Man shrugged.

"Do you really want to fight someone when you don't know who they are, what they want, or why they're here?"

Kazuya hesitated.

"...Fine."

The Crow-Masked Man looked at him.

"Do you remember the fire from eleven years ago?"

Kazuya's expression changed.

"...Yes."

"That was a terrible day, wasn't it?"

Kazuya remained silent.

The Crow-Masked Man continued,

"Do you know who was there during that fire and battle?"

Kazuya asked,

"Who?"

"There is a teacher at Orlim Academy named Peter."

The Crow-Masked Man paused.

"He fought in that fire."

Kazuya narrowed his eyes.

"And you want me to believe you?"

The Crow-Masked Man smirked.

"Go ask him yourself."

"If what I told you is true, then you can join us."

"We are the Alphabet Organization."

Kazuya replied,

"You're awfully confident."

The Crow-Masked Man turned around.

"I have things to do."

Then he disappeared.

Kazuya reached out.

"Wait! I wanted to ask you something!"

But he was already gone.

Kazuya immediately went to Peter's room and knocked on the door.

Peter opened it.

"What do you want, Kazuya?"

Kazuya forced a smile.

"A man wearing a crow mask told me that you were involved in the village fire eleven years ago."

Peter froze.

"How does that person know about that...?"

The smile slowly disappeared from Kazuya's face.

"What?"

Peter shook his head.

"Nothing."

Kazuya stared at him.

"Were you responsible for the village fire?"

Peter turned his face away and remained silent.

Kazuya's voice trembled.

"Was it... you?"

Peter finally answered.

"...Yes."

"But I had my reasons—"

Before he could finish, Kazuya turned around and walked away.

His face was filled with sadness.

He returned to his room in silence.

At the same time, Gen and Watari were discussing the current situation.

Watari said,

"The city of Raulak is under siege."

Gen replied,

"That's not something we should worry about."

"I'll send students from Orlim Academy along with Rin."

Gen then sent a message to the academy.

The letter read:

To the annoying principal of Orlim Academy,

We require the following students for the Raulak rescue operation:

Hamura

Shinagawa

Kazuya

Enwell

Regina

And screw you.

— Gen

Leonardo became furious as he read the letter.

However, he still selected the five students and sent them to the designated location.

There, they met Rin.

Rin began speaking.

"The plan is as follows—"

Before he could continue, Mr. P appeared.

"It seems our guests have arrived."

Rin smiled.

"Our apologies. It seems we're late."

Light wrapped around his body.

"Holy Beam."

Mr. P laughed.

"Sounds impressive."

He tried blocking it with lightning magic, but failed.

The attack struck his arm.

Mr. P winced.

"That hurts, you know?"

Then he raised his hand.

"Try this."

"Arrow of the Thunder God."

The lightning arrow shot forward so quickly that even Rin couldn't see it.

It pierced his stomach.

Rin staggered.

"You're not bad."

Mr. P smiled.

"Thank you."

"But I don't think you are either."

Rin became angry.

"Then let's see each other's true power."

Mr. P grinned.

"Gladly."

At the same time, the Crow-Masked Man was flying above the city.

He chanted a strange spell in an unknown language.

Hamura attempted to stop him using Mind Control Magic.

It failed.

Shinagawa tried burning him with fire magic.

It failed as well.

The Crow-Masked Man sighed.

"I don't have time to waste."

"I'll begin now."

Below them, the trapped citizens cried out:

"Please save us!"

Shinagawa stepped forward.

"Let's go inside!"

Kazuya stopped him.

"You won't be able to get out."

"And you won't be able to save anyone."

"Your efforts would be meaningless."

Shinagawa clenched his fists.

"But we should at least try!"

Kazuya shook his head.

"No."

At that moment, the Crow-Masked Man completed his spell.

"Gravity Magic: Enhanced Infinite Pressure."

The city collapsed.

Destroyed completely.

Kazuya watched from a distance.

The Crow-Masked Man slowly approached him.

Meanwhile, Rin and Mr. P stopped fighting as both witnessed the destruction.

Rin stared in horror.

"This is terrible..."

Mr. P looked away.

"I'm sorry."

"But I don't have time to play anymore."

Then he disappeared.

Moments later, Mr. P arrived beside the Crow-Masked Man.

He found him speaking with Kazuya.

Kazuya looked directly at them.

"I've made my decision."

"I will join your organization."

The Crow-Masked Man nodded.

"Then you may."

Hamura and Regina stepped forward.

"We'll join too."

Kazuya then looked at Enwell and Shinagawa.

"Will you come with us?"

Both of them remained silent.

Finally, Kazuya said:

"We never expected things to be like this."

"But someday..."

"You'll understand."

And with that, a new path opened before them.

I hope you will support me with Power Stones
