[Fur?!]
'PUFFBALL!'
Relief hit so hard her knees almost buckled.
[I'm back! Are you okay?! I couldn't— the connection just CUT and I—]
'What HAPPENED?!'
[I don't know! One second I was there, the next BLOCKED. Like a door slammed in my face. I tried everything but couldn't get through!]
'I thought you were gone forever.'
[Never. I'm not leaving you, Fur. Not ever.]
Her eyes burned.
"What is it?" Nyx's voice sharpened. "What's wrong?"
Faelyn blinked fast. Smiled. "Nothing. Nothing's wrong. I just..."
What could she say?
"I just had a sudden feeling. Like divine reassurance? That everything will be okay."
Not entirely a lie. Puffball coming back DID feel like intervention from the gods.
Both chiefs stared.
"Divine reassurance," Roshan said slowly.
"Yes."
"Right now? In the middle of us discussing your mysterious collapse?"
"I know it sounds strange—"
"Everything about you is strange," Nyx muttered.
Not unkindly. Just fact.
Faelyn laughed despite everything. "Fair."
