Something flickered across Nyx's expression.
Brief. Quickly controlled.
But she SAW it.
Then his thoughts came through crystal clear:
Nyx's mind: ฅᨐฅ'She's asking about Roshan. Right. Of course she is. They're bonded too. He's been suffering just as much. I shouldn't—'ฅᨐฅ
A pause.
Then deliberately:
Nyx's mind: ฅᨐฅ'But she held on like she didn't want to let go. That matters. She's here, she's safe, and she's happy to see me. That's enough. More than enough.'ฅᨐฅ
Faelyn's chest tightened.
"I'm glad to see YOU," she said firmly. Meeting his eyes. "I'm beyond glad. I just need to know you're both okay."
Nyx's expression softened.
"We're fine. Bond pain was severe, but we're recovering now that you're close."
"Can you walk?"
She tried.
Legs shook.
Two days of captivity had done more damage than she wanted to admit.
"Maybe?"
"Doesn't matter."
He lifted her easily.
Warriors formed protective circle.
They moved back through tunnels.
