Chapter 51: The Cage of the Beast — A Lesson in Sovereignty
The sky over the world turned a bruised purple as the "Future" watermark pulsed with a rhythmic, heavy thrum. The golden screen didn't just show a scene; it projected a localized storm of killing intent.
The setting was a hidden island in the New World. A gathering of the "Worst Generation." Eustass Kid, Killer, Basil Hawkins, and Scratchmen Apoo stood amidst a wreckage of scrap and shadow. They were forming an alliance—a desperate reach for the throne of a Yonko.
Suddenly, the air itself seemed to crack. A massive shadow plummeted from a Sky Island 10,000 meters above, hitting the island with the force of a tectonic shift.
CRASH.
As the dust settled, the towering silhouette of Kaido of the Beasts emerged from the crater. He didn't even look at the rookies. He groaned, rubbing his head, looking more bored than injured.
> [Gol D. Roger]: "WAHAHAHA! Look at that landing! Still trying to find a way to end the story, eh, Kaido? You've certainly grown into a formidable wall for these children to climb."
> [Rocks D. Xebec]: "VOHAHARARA! The apprentice has a thick skull. But to drop in on the 'New Blood' like that... you're as dramatic as ever, brat. Though I must admit, his physical shell is reaching its absolute peak."
As the screen showed the alliance crumbling in terror, the "Worst Generation" finally broke their silence.
> [Trafalgar Law]: "Eustass-ya... look at your face. You looked like you were ready to fight a man, and you found a natural disaster. To think we're all in the same boat, chasing monsters like that."
> [Capone 'Gang' Bege]: "Pez, don't look. This is what happens when you don't have a plan. Chasing a Yonko without a fortress? Pure suicide."
> [Jewelry Bonney]: "Is that really him?! He's huge! Kid, you're lucky he didn't just sit on you and end your career right there!"
> [X Drake]: "The gap is too wide. Look at Hawkins... he's already calculating his 0% chance of victory. This isn't a battle; it's an execution."
> [Urho]: "The magnetic brat got humbled! Look at him! He didn't even land a hit before the mace came down!"
> [Morgans]: "KWA-KWA! WHAT A SCOOP! The 'Highest Bounty Rookie' being dragged like a sack of potatoes! My readers are going to love this!"
>
On the screen, the betrayal was swift. Apoo was revealed to be a mole, already wearing the Beast Pirate colors. Hawkins knelt, his cards showing a path of submission.
But Eustass Kid stood alone.
"Alliance? Betrayal? I don't give a damn!" Kid roared, his magnetic field pulling every shard of iron on the island into a massive, jagged fist. "I don't care if you're a Dragon or a God! I'll rip those scales off with my bare hands!"
He lunged. It was a fly attacking a hurricane. Kaido didn't even use a named technique. He swung his mace, Hassaikai, with a flick of his wrist.
The "Punk Rotten" arm shattered like glass. Kid was sent skipping across the ground, his body broken and bloody. But even as he lost consciousness, he glared at the Emperor with a look that refused to break.
In the present-day Sabaody clearing, the real Eustass Kid was a mask of pure, concentrated rage. He looked at Apoo and Hawkins, who were standing just a few yards away in the same clearing.
"You... you snakes," Kid growled, his hand sparking with magnetic lightning. "I'll kill you both before the future even happens!"
Apoo laughed nervously, backing away. "Hey, Kid! The screen says I'm a mole later! Don't get ahead of yourself!"
Luffy watched the screen, his grin gone. He looked at his own hands, then at the image of Kid being dragged toward a prison cell in Wano. He realized that the "Worst Generation" was currently nothing more than a group of children playing in the shadow of giants.
> [Sengoku]: "SQUEAK! (The world is watching! If the rookies are this weak, the Yonko will maintain the balance! SQUEAK!)"
> [Akainu]: (Stuck in a bathroom stall in Marineford) "SENGOKU! I'VE WALKED THROUGH THREE DOORS AND I'M BACK AT THE TOILET! THE 'LOST' CURSE IS A WAR CRIME! GET ME OUT OF HERE!"

The System's Note
The screen flickered, showing Kid in a sea-stone collar, blood dripping from his brow as he glared at the guards of Udon Prison.
[SYSTEM NOTE: Rank 45 — Eustass 'Captain' Kid. He is the most beaten, the most humiliated, and the most unlucky. But he is also the only one who didn't bow. Ambition isn't measured by the win; it's measured by the weight of the chains you refuse to feel.]
