Chapter 48: The Blade of the Moon and the Hero's Rebirth

The purple sky of the broadcast didn't fade. Instead, it condensed into three distinct pillars of light that descended upon the winners. The world watched, breathless, as the System began to process the rewards.

At Marineford, the pillar of light engulfed Monkey D. Garp. Sengoku, still recovering from his "Squeak" incident, shielded his eyes.

"Garp! What are you doing with that coin?!"

Inside the light, Garp was looking at a screen only he could see.

[REWARD SELECTED: CHRONOS-REVERSION (50% AGE REDUCTION)]

The transformation was violent. The white hair of the "Hero of the Marines" began to darken into a deep, raven black. The wrinkles around his eyes smoothed out, and his muscles, already massive, surged with a vitality that hadn't been felt since the days of God Valley. Garp stood up, his cape fluttering, looking exactly as he did thirty years ago—in his absolute prime.

"BWAHAHAHA!" Garp's voice boomed, cracking the pavement beneath him. "I feel light! Sengoku, I think I could punch a hole through the Red Line right now!"

> [Sengoku]: "Garp... you idiot! You've completely upset the balance of the Three Powers! The World Government is going to have a heart attack!" Sengoku say with a smile.

> [Rocks D. Xebec]: "VOHAHARARA! THE FIST IS BACK! Hey Garp, come find me in the afterlife! I want a rematch now that you aren't a fossil!"

>

In the misty void of the afterlife, Gol D. Roger stared at his own golden coin. Unlike Garp, he didn't use it immediately. His eyes widened as a hidden prompt appeared on his screen—one invisible to everyone else.

[SPECIAL SYSTEM PATH: THE KING'S RETURN]

Requirement: Sacrifice your future Ranking Reward and all accumulated Gold Coins to return to the living world in your Prime.

"Rayleigh... it seems the System is a bit of a gambler," Roger laughed, tossing the coin into the air and catching it. "I only have one coin now. I need nine more, or I have to wait for my rank to be revealed. But for now... I'll hold onto this. Because I really want to came back and save my son Ace. The show is just getting started."

Back at Sabaody, the atmosphere was different. The Straw Hats were huddled around their six Gold Coins, their eyes wide as they scrolled through a list of rewards that looked like a dream catalog—everything from "Infinite Meat" to "Ancient Weapon Blueprints and also Prime Card." But they are still not using because they are saving these so they can use carefully and save Ace. In worst case they will buy Permanent Prime Card for Luffy with 5 Coin.

The light shifted toward Zoro.

[RANK 46 REWARD: SOUL-BOND EVOLUTION — THE ZANPAKUTO]

The Wado Ichimonji began to glow with a soft, ethereal white light. It floated out of Zoro's sheath, suspended in the air. Suddenly, the shape of the blade blurred. It didn't become a different sword, but it gained a presence—a spiritual weight that made everyone in the clearing fall silent.

From the hilt of the sword, a translucent, ghostly figure began to form. It was a young girl with short dark hair, wearing a training gi, holding a wooden kendo sword.

"Kuina...?" Zoro's voice broke. He reached out, his hand trembling.

The figure didn't speak, but she smiled, her spirit merging back into the steel. The Wado Ichimonji snapped back into Zoro's hand. It was no longer just a Great Grade blade. It was a Zanpakuto.

[SYSTEM DESCRIPTION: Wado Ichimonji (Zanpakuto State). Current Form: Shikai. Special Ability: Echo of the Moon. Allows the user to strike the soul directly and manifest the 'Ghost' of the blade's past.]

"What is a Zanpakuto?!"

The world went insane. No one had ever heard of a sword with a soul—let alone a sword that could manifest a ghost.

> [Dracule Mihawk]: "A sword that breathes... with a human spirit? Roronoa, what have you done? That isn't a Black Blade... it's something entirely outside the laws of swordsmanship."

> [Tashigi]: "A soul?! Inside a Meito?! This is... this is a crime against history! Or a miracle! I need to see it! I MUST SEE IT!"

> [Whitebeard]: "Gurarara! A sword that remembers its owner. That's a dangerous toy for a brat to have. The Marines must be shaking in their boots."

> [Akainu]: (Currently trapped in the Marineford Kitchen) "I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SWORD! HOW DO I GET OUT OF THE PANTRY?! THERE IS NO NORTH IN THIS ROOM!"

>

Zoro gripped the newly awakened Wado Ichimonji. He didn't look at the screen anymore. He looked at the horizon, toward the direction of the Navy ships he knew were coming.

"I don't know what a Zanpakuto is," Zoro said, his voice low and dangerous. "But I can feel her. She's not just a promise anymore. She's here."

As he spoke, a faint, white aura rippled off the blade, chilling the air for miles. The current Kizaru, still paralyzed on the other side of the island, felt a cold sweat drip down his neck. For the first time in his life, the man made of light felt a shadow he couldn't outrun.
