Chapter 45: The King of Hell — Three Swords, One Fate
The screen roared with the sound of a storm that shouldn't exist indoors. The black lightning coiling around Zoro's blades didn't just strike the floor; it pulverized the atoms in the air. King's flame, usually a steady, solar roar, was flickering in the presence of a man who had finally stopped fighting his swords and started commanding them.
King's mask shattered completely, revealing the silver hair and tan skin of the Lunarian race. He didn't look like a pirate anymore; he looked like a fallen deity. "So you've decided to be a King? Then I'll show you the flame that burned the world before your history even began!"
King pulled his head back, his neck stretching like a literal rubber band—the bizarre biological quirk of a Pteranodon—and unleashed "Imperial Flaming Wings!" A torrent of magma-like fire, shaped into a giant bird, screamed toward Zoro.
> [Sengoku]: "SQUEAK! (The Haki! It's leaking through the screen! My office is vibrating! Garp, stop eating those crackers and look at the output levels! SQUEAK!)"
> [Monkey D. Garp]: "BWAHAHAHA! Look at that bird! It looks like something Luffy would try to eat! Go on, Zoro! Slice the spicy chicken! But still everything tasting like slime."
> [Dracule Mihawk]: "He's no longer resisting Enma's thirst. He's feeding it his own soul to stabilize the Conqueror's infusion. This is the edge of the abyss, Roronoa. Don't fall in."
> [Shanks]: "Dahahaha! That's a heavy aura for a kid! Beckman, do you see that? The East Blue really is full of surprises!"
> [Benn Beckman]: "The sword isn't just black now... it's screaming. That's a dangerous path."
> [Buggy the Clown]: "HONK! WHY IS THE SCREEN TURNING GREEN?! I CAN'T SEE MY OWN GLORIOUS NOSE! IS THE SYSTEM BROKEN?! HONK!"
> [Rocks D. Xebec]: "VOHAHARARA! Squeak-man, you seeing this? That's the look a man has when he's ready to kill a God! I haven't seen that since Garp and Roger teamed up to ruin my afternoon!"
> [Kaido]: (Present Day) "King! Use your speed! Don't let the brat find the rhythm!"
> [Big Mom]: "MAMAMAMA! Burn him! I want a well-done swordsman for dinner!"

Zoro didn't dodge the flaming bird. He didn't even blink. He moved with a speed that defied the "double pain" wracking his nervous system.
"I've spent my whole life looking for the top," Zoro's voice echoed, cold and resonant. "But if I have to go to the bottom of Hell to find the strength to put my Captain on that throne... then I'll take the title of King of Hell with a smile."
"Three-Sword Style... King of Hell... Three Dragon Seal!"
Zoro lunged. The three streaks of black-and-green lightning didn't just cut the fire; they extinguished it. The magma-bird was cleaved in half as if it were nothing but mist. Zoro appeared in front of King, his eyes glowing with a predatory light that made the Lunarian—a man who lived as a God—actually feel a shiver of mortality.
King swung his flame-coated sword, but Zoro's blades were faster. In a single, fluid motion, Zoro sliced through King's massive wing, his chest, and his pride.
"King of Hell... 103 Mercies: Dragon Damnation!"
A massive, spectral dragon made of dark Haki erupted from the strike, carrying King through the walls of Onigashima and out into the open sky, where a massive explosion of green fire lit up the Wano night.
The screen slowed down. King was falling, his flames finally extinguished. Zoro stood on the edge of the broken tower, his swords smoking, his bandages unraveling in the wind. He took a long, shaky breath, and the green aura slowly receded.
"I won," Zoro whispered. He looked up at the sky, toward the rooftop where Luffy was still fighting. "I'm coming, Luffy... just... give me a second."
He collapsed onto his back, his heart beating like a drum. The "Double Pain" was starting to kick in. The world watched as the man who just conquered a God began to convulse, a Grim Reaper-like silhouette momentarily appearing over his body.
> [Marco]: "King... is down-yoi. The wings of the Emperor have been clipped. The New Era isn't just coming... it's already here."
> [Charlotte Katakuri]: "His Haki didn't just grow; it evolved. Rank 46 isn't an insult. I convince he is above me. That man is a King in his own right."
> [Eustass Kid]: "Tch. Fine. He's strong. But I'm the one who will going to fight Big Mom! Don't forget that!"
> [Trafalgar Law]: "Roronoa-ya... if you die now, I'm reviving you just to kill you for wasting my medicine."
> [Sanji]: (Sabaody) "Stupid Moss-head. Look at you, needing a nap after one little bird. I guess I'll have to carry the crew for a while." (Sanji is smiling, though his hand is shaking as he grips his new locket).
