"Charizard, we have to become even stronger!"
Ash Ketchum's voice reached Charizard's ears, and immediately after, raging flames erupted from the Pokémon's body, transforming it into a massive fireball!
Inside the fireball, Charizard snapped its eyes open. Cyan dragon claws extended as its wings beat once, sending it soaring toward the Charizard King.
The Charizard King simply extended a single claw. Surging with dragon energy, he countered with a Dragon Claw of his own!
"My Charizard won't be countered so easily now!" Ash grinned with confidence.
Sure enough, Charizard, wreathed in flames, continued to accelerate, appearing before the Charizard King in the blink of an eye. With its claws crossed, it slashed down fiercely at the King!
"The power of that Dragon Claw has increased by at least half!" Liza's eyes lit up. As a highly experienced Charizard Trainer, she possessed keen insight.
Even the Charizard King likely hadn't expected Charizard to burst forth with such overwhelming strength in this state.

The flames surged again as Charizard slammed into the Charizard King! The King's massive frame was actually forced back a step by the impact.
This was a great humiliation for a king. The Charizard King was truly infuriated now. Even for a promising junior he favored, such repeated provocations could not be forgiven!
As the dragon energy dissipated from its claws, it condensed onto the King's tail. The thick tail whipped around and struck Charizard, sending it flying backward.
"Ugh!"
Ash suddenly felt as if he had been struck in the abdomen by a heavy club.
"Ash, what's wrong?"
Misty, standing beside him, noticed his sudden look of agony and asked with concern.
However, despite the pain, Ash's eyes snapped open, shining with a brilliant light!

Having been sent flying, Charizard's flames shifted once more. White patterns appeared within the fire, making it look like a flaming egg about to hatch.
"What else is changing?" Liza noted the transformation.
The flame on the Charizard King's tail exploded, leaping nearly two meters high. Its fighting spirit was ablaze; it could feel the junior's presence steadily rising!
In the next instant, the Charizard King took the initiative. With a wave of its claw, dragon energy surged once more, forming a massive Dragon Claw that slashed toward the fireball that was Ash's Charizard.
However, two dragon claws reached out from the fireball to block the King's attack.
But the Charizard King's strength was still superior. With a turn of its body, its tail struck out, sending Charizard reeling back again.
"Ugh!"
Ash clutched his waist, his brow furrowed. The Charizard King was showing no mercy.
The fireball retreated only half a step before rallying. Though it hadn't learned Dragon Tail, Charizard spun around similarly, sweeping its long tail toward the King.
But the King caught the tail during this simple attack.
With an explosion of power, the Charizard King hoisted Charizard by the tail, spun it around, and hurled it away!
"Charizard, fly!"
Ash shouted at the top of his lungs. Ordinarily, a Pokémon thrown at such speeds wouldn't be able to hear him, but Charizard did. It stabilized its body in mid-air instantly!
In that exact moment!

Ash felt his own heart beating in sync with Charizard's!
High in the air, the fireball that was Charizard erupted with light, shining as brilliantly as a second sun.
The white stripes became more distinct, looking like a giant flaming egg splitting down the middle!
"What is happening?!" Misty's voice trembled with a mix of surprise and fear.
Brock spoke up suddenly, "That looks like the light of evolution!"
Ash smiled; Brock was right.
"Roar!"
Sensing the change, Charizard let out an exhilarated roar in the sky!
"Charizard, get stronger! Stronger! Keep getting stronger!"
Ash's voice echoed through the valley. As if answering him, the light of evolution shattered!
The fireball exploded, revealing what the spectators realized were a pair of wings!
Charizard radiated brilliant light, its orange-red scales shifting into a radiant, warm golden-orange. It had powerful claws, sharp teeth, and two plumes of golden flame puffing from the corners of its mouth. Its rounded belly was adorned with several light blue and golden triangular patterns it looked exceptionally majestic.
Most stunning were the wings made of pure flame, far larger than its original dragon wings. One could already guess its flight speed would likely surpass even the Pseudo-legendary Dragonite of the Kanto region!
The evolved Charizard descended before Ash. It now stood over two meters tall, taller even than the Charizard King.
Its presence was awe-inspiring, and the flaming wings behind it were impossible to look away from.
Liza, the self-proclaimed Charizard Trainer, was moved to tears. "So cool... I never thought a Charizard could evolve into such a form. Those wings of flame are just too magnificent."
Ash stepped forward and patted Charizard's belly. "How do you feel?"
"Roar!"
The thunderous roar was the only answer he needed!

Ash was overjoyed seeing the current attributes.
Not only was it now a Dragon-type, but it possessed two abilities one from Mega Charizard X and one from Mega Charizard Y. Tough Claws would boost its melee prowess, while Drought would amplify its Fire-type moves.

However, a second later, a light flashed, and Charizard reverted to its original form. Ash's vision went dark, and he began to collapse.
Fortunately, Charizard caught him just in time.
"Ash!"
Under the worried gazes of his friends, Ash forced himself to stay conscious. Looking at his Pokémon, he spoke: "Liza, I want to leave Charizard here to train for a while. Is that alright?"
Connected in heart and mind, Charizard understood Ash's intent immediately.
The Charizard King approached the group, patted Charizard on the shoulder, and looked at Liza. It, too, seemed to hope this special junior would stay.
The King would train Ash's Charizard personally!
"Ash, is this really okay?" Misty was reluctant to say goodbye, even knowing it was best for Charizard's growth. This meant Ash would be losing a key member of his team.
"Yes!" Liza agreed resolutely.
Shortly after, Ash lost consciousness.
