"The paperwork is finally signed, Amara, but I must tell you it was not an easy fight," Professor Corvin said. He looked completely worn out as he leaned back into his large leather chair. The grey light of the morning filtered through the rain-soaked windows, casting long shadows across his desk. "Headmaster Aldric did not want to let any student cross the gates. He kept saying the paths outside are too dangerous right now. I had to tell him three separate times that this extra credit work is vital for the upcoming magic trials."
I stood before his desk, shifting my weight from one foot to the other. "But he agreed? We can actually leave?"
"Yes, he agreed," Corvin sighed, rubbing his temple. "But the n Council wants everything tracked. I need the exact list of names for the six students who will be going with us. I have your name and Xavier's name down already. Do you have the other four?"
