Chapter 109 - Chapter 109

"For Terra! Live up to the blood of El!" Dalton's voice finally broke the knights' silence, letting out the first roar.

"Live up to the blood of El!" Phillip and the other Holy Blood Angels echoed in unison.

They raised their weapons and, with the speed of their horses, instantly tore a huge hole in the ranks of the Kaedweni soldiers trying to stop them.

THWIP! THWIP! The muffled sounds of flesh being pierced continued one after another.

Many Kaedweni soldiers, armed with shields or bearing the black unicorn crest on their armor, had no time to react effectively.

Amidst mournful cries, they were easily pierced by sharp lances.

Or they were directly knocked down by galloping warhorses, their sternums shattered, falling to the ground with blood spraying from their mouths.

This dark red iron current, led by Karl, avoided the desperately fighting Temerian soldiers and unleashed all its fury on the Kaedweni.

The sudden appearance of new forces, along with their impact and slaughter, immediately drew the attention of all Temerian forces on the battlefield.

"Reinforcements! It's reinforcements!"

"Look at their armor! Whose lord's troops are they?!"

"Excellent! Kill all those Kaedweni bastards!"

The Temerian soldiers and knights, who had been somewhat suppressed, cheered in surprise.

The wavering front line also temporarily stabilized thanks to the addition of this new force.

Karl ignored the changing situation on the battlefield; his gaze first met the fiery-haired figure struggling to hold on in the crowd.

Suddenly, he squeezed the horse's belly, and Night Wind neighed.

Then, like a black lightning bolt, he charged straight towards Triss's position.

The Kaedweni infantry trying to stop him along the way didn't even have time to raise their pikes before being knocked aside by Night Wind, wrapped in a bio-field shield.

In just two or three breaths, Karl rushed to Triss's shield.

He abruptly reined in Night Wind, who reared up and neighed loudly.

Karl dismounted, landing lightly, the heavy golden plate armor causing no clumsiness.

"Triss!" Karl shouted, his voice muffled by his helmet, but it carried a calming power.

Triss was focused on her side of the struggle—an enemy soldier trying to hack at her shield with a tomahawk.

Hearing the sound, she spun around and saw the unique golden plate armor and the dark horse, Night Wind.

Her eyes exploded with incredible surprise and relief.

"Karl?! How... you?" she exclaimed, a strong emotion appearing on her face.

Before she could finish, Dalton galloped past, his horse crashing into a Kaedweni soldier.

Triss felt a strong discomfort and nearly fell to the ground.

The next moment, she saw Karl raise his hand and press it towards her, and a strange, gentle, invisible substance instantly enveloped her.

Suddenly, the magical interference effect of the dimetrium, which had been causing her dizziness and slowing her magic, vanished in an instant.

She seemed to have suddenly jumped from a dirty swamp into a clear spring; this lightness almost made her moan.

"Get on Night Wind and leave here immediately!" Karl said without hesitation, his tone imperative.

Feeling the magic in her body smooth out again, and hearing the tears in Karl's voice, Triss's eyes finally couldn't help but overflow.

But she stubbornly shook her head and refused decisively: "No! Karl, what are you doing?!"

"Night Wind can carry the weight of both of us! You have to come with me!"

She couldn't imagine escaping alone, leaving Karl on this dangerous battlefield.

However, just as she finished speaking, she suddenly noticed something behind Karl from the corner of her eye.

In the distance, the sorceress Sabrina seemed to have noticed the sudden appearance of a bold target in golden armor.

A cruel smirk appeared on the corner of her mouth, and she raised her hand to release a huge fireball, more compressed and hotter than before.

The fireball trailed a long tail of flame and slammed into Karl's back with a roar.

"Look out!!" Triss's pupils sharply contracted, but before she could let out a heart-wrenching scream, her heart nearly leaped from her chest.

Facing this deadly sneak attack, enough to blow a knight to pieces, Karl seemed to have eyes in the back of his head and didn't even look back.

He simply casually swung his backhand, as if shooing away a fly.

CRACK!! BANG! The fireball touched the back of Karl's hand at that moment.

It was like a fragile soap bubble, easily bursting in the air.

The raging fire elemental magic lost its restraint and turned into brilliant, harmless sparks all over the sky.

"..." Triss's mouth fell wide open, all voices stuck in her throat.

Her pale green eyes were full of intense shock and confusion, her mind blank.

Swatting... swatting away Sabrina's enhanced fireball with her bare hands?! How was that possible?!

Even the toughest armor in the world couldn't do that unscathed.

Before she could recover from this unbelievable scene, she felt a lightness.

Karl had already stepped in front of her, reached out, grabbed her by the collar, and without a word, easily lifted her entire body.

"Huh?! Wait... Karl, what are you doing?!" Triss cried out in panic.

Karl ignored her resistance, threw her arm aside, and tossed her onto Night Wind's broad back.

Triss cried out, instinctively grabbing the horse's neck and landing firmly in the saddle.

"Go, Night Wind! Take her away from here!" Go to the safe rear! Karl slapped Night Wind's strong body hard and shouted in a deep voice.

Night Wind seemed to understand Karl's order, raised its front hooves, and let out a piercing whinny, as if answering and saying goodbye.

The next second, it suddenly changed direction, planting all four hooves, and carried Triss, who was still anxiously looking back and calling Karl's name,

galloping towards the safe zone behind the Temerian lines without looking back.

Karl watched Night Wind carry Triss away until he was sure they had left the most dangerous area, then slowly turned around.

His gaze under the golden helmet swept over the layers of enemy troops.

Finally, he fixed on Sabrina, dressed in revealing clothing, holding a staff, a suspicious expression on her face in the distance.

Karl looked around and saw that the Kaedweni soldiers were surging in like a tide, gradually forming a loose encirclement.

Not far away, Fercart was still surrounded by over a dozen enemy soldiers, his shield light flickering, unable to break free at all.

Karl drew the two-handed greatsword he carried, his two fingers casually gripping the hilt, his wrist moving slightly.

WHOOSH! The two-handed greatsword easily spun around his fingers, a sharp flower of steel blossoming from it, emitting a low sound of tearing air.
