Chapter 263: Rescuing Kitahara Iori and the Others; Heading to the America?
.....
Ten minutes earlier.
An abandoned warehouse in Chiba City.
Kitahara Iori and the others, who were currently strung up and suspended in the air, surveyed their surroundings. There were six of them—Westerners in black suits.
"How much longer are we going to be hanging here?" Iori asked, glancing at Ryuen Kakeru, who was suspended beside him.
"No idea." Ryuen looked visibly annoyed. He had just woken up and gone out to grab some breakfast, only to get snatched up without a clue as to why.
The moment he saw these Westerners, he realized he was just bait. The real target had to be Seito.
"Hey! Let me go right now!" Miura Yumiko shouted indignantly, fighting back tears as she kicked her long legs wildly in the air.
"Hmph! Shut up!"
A blonde young man raised a pistol and aimed it directly at Miura, which made her jump in fright. The blonde man looked at the faces of Miura and Kinoshita Yuko, a wicked glint appearing in his eyes.
"Should we have some fun with them first?"
SLAP!
Before he could even finish the sentence, one of the men in a suit smacked him across the face.
"Fck! Is your brain full of sht?! Don't forget what our mission is!" The man in the suit pointed at him, cursing furiously.
Fun? Fun your sister! If they failed the mission, they were all going to die! Yet here he was, thinking about such nonsense? The guy was a complete idiot!
"F*ck you!" The blonde young man was enraged. "We're the same rank! Who gave you the right to sucker-punch me?"
Click! He leveled his pistol at the man in the suit.
"Heh, you want to test your gun skills against me?" The man in the suit sneered, lifting his heavy machine gun.
The other Westerners watched the scene unfold as if it were a spectator sport, not bothering to stop them in the slightest.
Watching this, Iori and the other three were stunned.
"Wait... are they really going to have a gunfight?" Iori asked, completely baffled. Weren't they on the same side? Going at each other over a petty dispute was insane.
"It's normal," Ryuen said with a deadpan expression. "It's the land of the free, the America. Gunfights are a daily occurrence."
Hearing this, Iori nodded in firm agreement. That made sense. Even before everything went to hell, the America was known for its shootouts. Now, with monsters rampaging across the world (everywhere except the Eastern Country, anyway), other countries were feeling the impending apocalypse, and the worst of human nature was on full display.
WHOOSH!
Just as the two were locked in a standoff, a figure suddenly materialized in the warehouse.
Everyone in the room turned their eyes toward him!
Seito stood there, flanked by the two kidnappers he had just brought, his face impassive as he scanned the room.
"Holy crap! Seito, save me!" Iori yelled at the top of his lungs upon seeing him.
"Seito-kun!" Kinoshita Yuko and Miura Yumiko called out excitedly.
"Seito! Kill them already!" Ryuen was different from the other three—he just wanted Seito to end these guys immediately. They had guns, and he was just an ordinary guy, after all!
The six Westerners were startled, but they immediately raised their weapons and opened fire on Seito!
RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!
CLANG! CLANG!
The bullets struck Seito's body, producing the sound of metal hitting steel.
"Hmph!" Seito let out a cold snort, and his aura exploded!
BOOM!
With the crushing presence of a demon god descending from the heavens, he instantly annihilated all the Westerners in the room, reducing them to ashes in less than a second!
Ryuen and the others were dumbstruck.
"You guys okay?" Seito turned and walked toward Iori and the others, channeling his divine power to lower them all to the ground.
Once his feet touched the floor, Iori let out a long breath. "Scared the hell out of me. These foreigners really don't know when to quit."
"Waaaahhh!" Kinoshita Yuko and Miura Yumiko threw themselves at Seito, bawling their eyes out.
Seito patted them on the back, offering what comfort he could. At the end of the day, they were just ordinary girls; it was normal for them to be traumatized by a kidnapping.
"Seito, you need to be careful," Ryuen said solemnly. "The America is the first, but they definitely won't be the last."
If the America was already making moves on Seito, other Western and foreign powers would surely follow suit.
"The one who needs to be careful isn't me—it's you lot," Seito replied, shaking his head.
He was a being capable of destroying stars; what danger could he possibly face? If there was any real danger, it was for people like Ryuen and the others.
"Then... what are we supposed to do...?"
Miura Yumiko looked at Seito with pitiful, teary eyes. She was genuinely terrified. Getting kidnapped out of nowhere was too much to handle.
"I'll solve this," Seito said, a plan forming in his mind. He intended to pay a visit to the America.
It was time to give the rest of the world a serious warning!
He turned to Kinoshita Yuko. "Yuko, get in touch with Hideyoshi. He's already awakened his power."
Yuko was stunned for a moment before nodding. "I understand."
"Hideyoshi has powers already?" Iori looked shocked, then suddenly stared at Seito. "Seito! I'm your best bro! You can't just leave me out!"
Since Hideyoshi had awakened his powers, it was obvious Seito must have been the one to help him. Iori felt utterly dejected—he wanted to be cool and powerful too!
"Fine, fine, take them!" Seito sighed helplessly, pulling out four Divinity Orbs.
"You four can use these. No need to call Hideyoshi."
They were a dime a dozen to him at this point, and he didn't need them anymore. Now that he had ascended to godhood, he had no fear of anyone who awakened powers.
The four of them stared at the orbs in Seito's hands, their eyes practically glowing. They each grabbed one and used it without hesitation.
Seeing them begin to absorb the power, Seito decided not to stick around. He prepared to teleport away.
It was time to go settle the score with the America!
