"Did you send that curse to assassinate me?" Yuji asked.
"No, what he did was out of his own volition. And don't you think that you own your brother a little apology" he said sarcastically.
To this Yuji didn't say anything. And there was considerable silence. But Yuji questioned him
"Why Okkotsu?"
"He shared the same goal as mine. After you neglected his worries he came to me. He too wish for a world that I'm striving for. For that he devoted his body. His weak curse technique would have been of little help. But his sacrifice has created a stronger being but by no means perfect" Megumi spoke boldly.
He extended his arm toward Yuji and said "Yuji, join me. You are strong and I need you"
But Yuji didn't responded to his plea nor his stretch hand. Bitterly he withdrew his hand and said
"Say Yuji, are you the strongest because you are Yuji Itadori or are you Yuji Itadori because you are the strongest" Megumi questioned Yuji.
"I'm just a cog. My duty is too exorcise curses" Yuji replied.
"So you better not impede on my progress. If you don't wish to aid me, you must not hamper me.." Megumi was speaking.
But Yuji suddenly launch multiple blood piercing towards him. They curved around Megumi and was about to wound him.
Quickly Megumi pulled out a cursed tool from his shadow and slice the blood spears in midair.
"So it means no" Megumi commented
Yuji stared at the cursed tool and asked "Where did you get it? Wasn't the inverted spear of heaven lost?"
Even the blind woman carrying Sanso looked at Megumi's direction upon hearing the name.
"It was never lost. It was hidden by Satorou Gojo. Yuji let safe this battle for later" Megumi offered.
"I don't wish to fight you Megumi" he replied
"Even if you don't want to, circumstances will force us to and I shall bring those circumstances" Megumi said and started walking off.
Itadori continued to looked at the shrinking back of Megumi. The physical distance between them seem much shorter than how much their friendship has deviated from.
