He saw his father captured by an enemy using a Shinjutsu.
His father's eyes were filled with shock.
Immediately after, that enemy attacked repeatedly, finally shattering the shield on his father's body.
"Father!"
Mirai roared hoarsely, but there was nothing he could do!
He saw his father fighting back frantically.
Regardless, it was useless.
There were two whole people besieging him!
His father roared, unleashing the final gate of the Eight Inner Gates, the Gate of Death.
His body burned with blood-red steam, his power skyrocketing, instantly sending the two enemies flying.
Those Otsutsuki were temporarily repelled by his father's outburst, but they quickly closed in again.
They looked at his father as if they were looking at a dying beast struggling in vain.
"The chakra of this planet belongs to us."
An enemy raised his hand, a blinding white light condensing in his palm.
Mirai saw several of his older brothers and sisters desperately rushing forward, wanting to block that attack.
Big brother Hanyu stood at the very front, hit by the white light, his body shattering.
Third brother Asahi used his body to shield his younger brothers and sisters, his entire body turning to ashes...
That attack ultimately still landed on his father.
Mirai saw his father's body fall from mid-air.
Blood poured out of their bodies.
Then, two Otsutsuki rushed forward and grabbed his heavily injured father.
They held his father by his collar, looking down from above at the once invincible First Emperor, cruel smiles hanging on the corners of their lips.
"The so-called God of Shinobi is nothing more than this."
"Let us end this."
The two Otsutsuki aimed their palms at the earth.
Joining hands, the two unleashed a Shinjutsu.
Intense light erupted from their palms, like a sun rising from the ground.
The light swallowed everything.
Houses, mountains, rivers, the sky...
Nothing could be seen anymore.
Mirai only felt his body torn apart by an irresistible force, his consciousness like being thrown into a blender, shattered into thousands of pieces.
Am I... dead after all?
This was his first thought in the darkness.
There was no pain, no fear, only the silence of an empty void.
He thought of his mother, he thought of his father, and he thought of those brothers and sisters.
His father's heavily injured state, his mother's despairing eyes, and the backs of his brothers and sisters desperately shielding him all surfaced in his mind one by one.
Why were the enemies so powerful?
He felt some regret, regretting that his strength could not have been a little greater to protect all of this.
Even if he were just a little stronger, even if he could have helped…
Still, he could do nothing.
Unfortunately, life could not be restarted after all.
The darkness lasted for a very long time, yet it also seemed like only a blink.
Suddenly, light reappeared before his eyes.
First a blinding white light, then gradually softening, turning into a warm milky white.
A blink after, a white ceiling appeared before his eyes.
Mirai wanted to move, but found his body weak and powerless.
He tried to raise his hand, but his hand did not react.
He wanted to speak, but his throat only made baby-like babbles.
…A baby?
He was stunned.
The voices of a man and a woman conversing came from beside his ears:
"What is our child's name?"
"Hmm... let's call him Mirai Uchiha."
This voice...
It was too familiar!
Mirai struggled to turn his head, and sure enough, he saw his father and mother.
Except the two of them were very young.
His father wore that dark-colored everyday clan head robe, a pink gourd hanging from his waist, with no trace of fatigue in his eyes, but instead full of high spirits.
His mother sat by the bedside, her face full of the tenderness of a new mother.
When he saw his baby-like tiny arms, Mirai suddenly understood.
I... have been reborn!
Mirai quickly accepted the fact that he had been reborn.
He had once read in the General History of the Shinobi World at the academy that some ninjutsu could resurrect the dead after paying a certain price.
But his situation...
Returning to infancy while still retaining the memories of his past life.
That was simply not something any ninjutsu could achieve, right?
Was this a blessing from the gods, or a joke of fate?
He did not know.
Nonetheless, a massive joy welled up inside him.
That feeling of surviving a disaster, of regaining what was lost...
The tragedy of his past life was vividly clear.
His mother died, his father was defeated, his brothers and sisters fell one by one, and the entire world was turned to scorched earth.
The power of those Otsutsuki, that despair of being powerless to change anything, he never wanted to experience it a second time!
Mirai muttered in his heart:
In this life, relying on my foresight, I must prevent all of this from happening!
He closed his eyes, and his mind began to recall everything from his past life.
The arrival times of those Otsutsuki, their abilities, his father's response strategies, as well as possible ways to break the situation...
Everything surfaced in his memory.
In his past life, he had wasted decades… in this life, he would not let another single second go to waste!
