Chapter 7 - NFN [7]

"Someone!"

Iwasaki shouted excitedly toward the door.

"Get me another clean room!"

The tavern attendants did not dare delay in the slightest.

A clean room was prepared in no time.

Iwasaki directly threw the compliant Kunoichi onto the bed, then eagerly pressed himself on top of her.

Soon, the wooden bed in the room began to creak under the strain.

As a shinobi, his physique was ultimately stronger than that of ordinary people.

After an unknown amount of time, Iwasaki let out a long breath.

Compared to ordinary people, a Kunoichi's body was indeed far more resilient.

Both Iwasaki's body and mind were greatly relaxed.

However, a single time was far from enough to vent the long-accumulated heat within his body.

Just as Iwasaki reached out, intending to pull the Kunoichi in for another round, she flipped off the bed, avoiding his arm.

Iwasaki impatiently reached out to grab her, but she deftly avoided him each time.

"Don't go… Give me one more time…"

The Kunoichi covered her mouth and laughed softly.

"I can give it to you, but I'm curious. What mission were you carrying out in that dream just now?"

Iwasaki felt it was strange.

Why bring up those meaningless dreams out of nowhere?

But the burning desire in his body made him desperate to place his satisfaction above all else.

Left with no choice, he began to try hard to recall the dream from earlier.

As he did, he was surprised to find that the previously foggy dream was gradually becoming clear.

An unease arose in his heart.

Though on second thought, it was only content from a dream; surely it wouldn't count as leaking village secrets.

Therefore, he began to speak in fragments:

"In the dream… it was an S-rank mission personally issued by Ebizo-sama… to secretly transport a batch of war supplies to the border of the Land of Fire… and also to plan the attack route…"

He paused, then added:

"The operation time… is set for two months later."

After speaking, he saw the Kunoichi nod in satisfaction.

Right after, his hand climbed onto her smooth skin again, and she did not refuse.

Overjoyed, Iwasaki moved to go further.

Outside the illusion.

The two corpses of Iwasaki's teammates lay on the ground.

Iwasaki was hugging a withered tree trunk, biting and groping it.

A foolish grin was plastered across his face.

From time to time, satisfied murmurs escaped his mouth.

Nearby, after listening to Iwasaki's account, both Gento and Kurenai's expressions grew serious.

So the Hidden Sand Village had been secretly planning for so long!

If not for Gento bringing it up, Leaf would still be unaware of this crisis!

Thinking about the consequences if Leaf were suddenly attacked by the Hidden Sand…

Kurenai's face turned pale.

Fortunately, there was still time.

Iwasaki had already revealed all the intelligence he knew and had lost his value.

Gento did not hesitate; he directly plunged a kunai into his chest.

The illusion shattered. Iwasaki looked at Gento and Kurenai's faces in confusion.

Shock and fear froze on his face before his breath finally ceased.

"The situation is more troublesome than expected, but fortunately, we still have two months to prepare."

Gento stood up beside the corpse, pondering for a moment.

"Your consumption isn't small either. The intelligence is sufficient. Prepare to withdraw."

Kurenai nodded.

Maintaining such high-precision genjutsu for a long time had nearly exhausted both her chakra and mental strength, leaving her face pale.

Just as the two were about to move—

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

A sharp shout suddenly rang out.

Fierce gusts of wind swept toward the two of them.

Exhausted, Kurenai's reaction was half a beat too slow, and the gale was already upon her.

Seeing that she could not evade it, Gento's figure flashed, wrapping an arm around her waist and dodging at high speed. They barely brushed past the wind blades, several tears slashing through the hem of his clothing.

Gento steadied himself, his sharp gaze sweeping toward the source of the attack, his heart sinking.

Ten Hidden Sand shinobi were closing in, forming a semi-encirclement.

At the front stood a bald shinobi with a gloomy expression.

When he saw the corpses on the ground, killing intent surged in his eyes.

"No wonder Iwasaki's squad hasn't returned… So it was your Hidden Stone Village that killed them!"

One Hidden Sand shinobi fixed his gaze on Kurenai, grinning with ill intent.

"Captain, this Kunoichi looks quite nice."

Another rubbed his hands and chimed in:

"Our friends haven't had any fun in a while. Now that a Hidden Stone Kunoichi has delivered herself to us, we've got to have some fun!"

In times of war, when life and death are commonplace, morality becomes a leaf in a storm.

A woman who falls into the hands of enemy shinobi often faces humiliation worse than death.

Kurenai naturally understood the meaning behind their words, her eyes turning cold.

Gento assessed the situation.

All ten of them were elites; a squad capable of executing an S-rank mission was by no means ordinary.

If he used the Sharingan and coordinated with Kurenai, they might have a chance of winning.

But he had no confidence in wiping them out.

If even one escaped, his Sharingan might attract the attention of the Hidden Sand's higher-ups…

In that instant, he made his decision.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Several shuriken shot out, their trajectories tricky as they flew toward the group!

"Stick to the plan! Withdraw!"

Gento shouted in a low voice.

Kurenai did not hesitate, turning and retreating rapidly toward the north.

"Ugh!"

"Mmph!"

The shuriken struck three targets precisely, cries ringing out.

"Tch! Don't let them escape!"

The bald shinobi roared.

Several Hidden Sand shinobi grinned wickedly and chased after Kurenai, their intent obvious.

On Gento's side, only two shinobi closed in on him.

Gento inwardly cursed.

Kurenai was already in poor condition; facing multiple strong enemies, her situation was extremely dangerous.

With a flick of his wrist, another wave of shuriken scattered toward the area around Kurenai, attempting to hinder the pursuers.

"Watch out for projectiles!"

The Hidden Sand shinobi were already on guard.

In the end, only one was hit and fell.

In just a short moment, Gento had already injured four of them with shuriken, making the bald shinobi wary.

"All of you, attack together! Kill the man first, then we'll have our fun with the Kunoichi!"

At the captain's command, three shinobi instantly surrounded Gento, forming hand seals and shouting in unison:

"Wind Release: Wind Cutter!"

Three invisible wind blades crossed toward him, sealing off every angle of escape.

Yet as the wind blades passed through, Gento's figure burst into a log.

"Damn, it's the Substitution Jutsu!"

"Too late."

A cold voice sounded from behind one of the shinobi.

Gento's real body appeared, his fingertip forming a pale blue Chakra Scalpel that swiftly sliced across the opponent's throat.

Blood sprayed.

The other shinobi retreated in shock.

"A Medical Ninja?"

A ruthless expression appeared on the bald captain's face.

"Don't be intimidated! Attack together!"

Meanwhile, Kurenai had already been intercepted by two Hidden Sand shinobi.

Without a word, they raised their hands and unleashed a rain of senbon.

Fine as hair, the senbons shot forward.

Kurenai twisted her body and swung her kunai to block, the clanging sounds ringing continuously as most of the senbon were deflected.

However, the barrage was too dense, and several slipped through.

"Mm!"

Kurenai's body trembled, and she staggered half a step with a muffled groan.

Three senbon had already struck her chest.

"Heh! Got her!"

The shinobi who fired the senbon let out a lewd, triumphant laugh.

"I coated them with 'Sand Temptation Poison.' She won't last long!"

From a distance, Gento caught sight of Kurenai's injury. He knew the longer this dragged on, the worse it would be for them; they had to break away.

His gaze swept over the four enemies rushing at him again, and he swiftly threw several kunai tied with explosive tags.

"Scatter! Explosive tags!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions rang out one after another.

Smoke and dust instantly filled the forest.

The Hidden Sand shinobi hurriedly ducked or dodged.

By the time the smoke thinned slightly, Gento was already gone.

"Over there!"

They saw that Gento had used the chaos to dash to Kurenai's side, sweeping her into his arms and fleeing north without looking back.

"Chase! The woman's poisoned, they won't get far!"

The bald shinobi gritted his teeth.

Five uninjured figures pursued the two of them at once.
