Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Knight In Shining Armor? And A Damsel In Distress

I crouched low, while I gripped my throwing knives, I used them to dig into the tree to make hand holds so I could have support climbing down. As I climbed down making sure to be careful of making any sounds.

Branch by branch, I climbed down slowly to the earthy ground. Once my feet were placed on the ground, I went into hiding and waited. While listening to their vocal cackles and footsteps. Once in the clear I sneak forward. Following them to get a general direction of where they're going.

Now, realizing that they are going in a straight line, I crouched forward quickly with fast feet, trying to get ahead of them. Looking back and making sure that they're maintaining the same direction.

I headed forward for about an hour and lost sight of them. I begin tying up ropes low to ankle height, to be used as tripwire. Then I marked trees and sat hidden within a bush. After a few minutes, I heard their footsteps. They're ugly crackles and laughs.

Readying my knives and calming my anxiety, with deep breaths. I focus my eyes on the light peering through the forest. The sound got closer and closer. My heart raced like a drum as they got closer, into range of my knives. I slowly sneaked out of the bush to get a better view, they hadn't noticed me yet.

Quickly throwing my knives I killed two goblins leading the group, hitting them right in the neck. As they fell over, the other four looked confused, they quickly dropped the girl and went to check on their companion as they stepped into range. I fired another two shots, killing one, the other one was hit in the shoulder. He was lucky enough to move in time.

As they looked around, they noticed me, then all three of them charged forward. As their focus was on me, they tripped on my rope. I killed another two with my throwing knives.

Leaving the one injured on the shoulder on the ground. As he was disoriented and confused. I quickly ended his life by throwing another knife between his eyebrows, thus ending him immediately. Then I grabbed my spear and stabbed them all twice in the heart and head. I didn't want any accidents happening, so I had to make sure.

Next I slowly walked over to the girl and made sure she was still breathing. I was lucky that she was just unconscious. Luckily she didn't break her neck or anything while falling on the ground.

I quickly untied her from the stick she was hogtied to. I then tied her back up, so she wouldn't get away and cause a scene while freaking out.

I just wanted to make sure that she wouldn't be a liability. I then disposed of all the goblin bodies by burning them to ash.

I made sure to collect all my throwing knives and ropes, so I left no evidence and cleared up all footprints. Once I felt safe about the situation, I quickly grabbed the girl and started heading home.

I carried her on my shoulder throughout the forest. She was heavy, maybe overweight even. She was 5 feet and about 8 inches tall. Weighing about 160 pounds. Bright gold blonde hair and dark brown skin.

Well it looks like she was rolled in mud she has multiple layers of dirt covering her, so I couldn't tell and I didn't have the time to wipe her down to see her true skin colour.

While carrying her through the forest, I made a good amount of distance from the silent area of the goblins, now called the Silent Goblin Area. I started to drag the girl every so often.

My small body couldn't handle all of the weight. So I tied a rope to her, attached to my waist and dragged her, like I did with the four logs when I made my gym equipment.

With the map I took less dangerous areas it was unavoidable, since Krikos was still passed out.

Normally we would just cut through the bear's den and make out fine. But without Krikos I didn't have the courage to test my luck, since I had extra baggage with me this time.

The journey was safe but slow; it took the whole night to arrive home at G Base. I placed the girl near my gym equipment and then washed myself and reapplied some new leaves to my injured shoulder. Then I consumed a large helping of smoked boar and fish soup. After I was content I headed off to bed. It was a long night and tomorrow could be even more exciting.

When I woke up in the evening, the sun was still high in the sky. I checked up on Krikos and found that he was still unconscious. Then I used my spear to poke at the girl. She's still unresponsive. So I poured cold river water on her and waited...

Nothing happened, so I just shrugged my shoulders and left and went about my day.

I took a few days of rest and checked on my friends every few hours. While resting I restocked on my fish supply since I had another mouth to feed and was worried of my logistics falling short.

After a week of waiting Krikos woke up confused and hungry. So I gave him a feast of the freshest fish and had a little bonfire party. I even dragged out our new friend to join us even though she was unconscious. It was nice knowing there were more people around. Another day passed and then I started to get worried she would die from thirst, and hunger soon if she didn't consume anything. So I dragged her to the river and un tied her jaw. Then drowned her, hoping the cold river water could wake her up. All I saw were bubbles then a muffled scream from the water.

I said looking at Krikos, while holding a bright smile on my face.

" Ahhh she's awake, we finally have a new friend!"

Kirkos shakes his head side to side. Looking at the girl in the river still drowning. I think there was pity in his eyes, maybe understanding and empathy. Then he says,

"Keee-ar!"

I looked at him confused

"What?" I said

"KEEE-AR!" he said again louder this time. His tone was different, maybe annoyed.

I took a look at his beak and saw it was pointed at the girl.

At some point she stopped screaming. And all that came up were bubbles.

Then I realized why she didn't swim up. I still had her limbs tied up.

I ran and dived into the water to bring her out. Saying.

"My bad, I forgot about the ropes, sorry"

I looked down at her and she was still unconscious? Then I did some quick CPR and pushed out the water from her lungs.

After a while she was breathing again. But still unconscious, maybe it was shock or from the fear of drowning.

I lightly slapped her on the face and then waited until nothing happened. Then I asked Krikos.

"What now?"

"Kik?"

It seems Krikos doesn't have any ideas either. So I sit down and think. Then I realized if she woke up from being dropped into the river then she might wake up again if I let her back in.

I quickly tell Krikos my genius idea and denies my idea by shaking his head.

I ignore him and let her rest by the campfire to warm up. Then proceed to throw her back in.

After a few seconds I heard a familiar muffle from the river.

I jumped in joy while grabbing Krikos for my signature celebration dance and then said to him.

"I told you my ideas are genius. She woke up again. I told you it would work."

I was so distracted by my celebration dance that I didn't notice the muffling sound from the river stopped. Not until I heard Krikos scream at me

"Kee-ar" "Keee-ar!" "Huh?" KEEEE-EEE-AR!"

I looked at him to see what the noise was all about. Following his beak I saw the river and a sinking girl.

"No, it happened again?!"

I quickly brought her to the side of the river bank, and brought her back to life then dragged her to the campfire to re-warm her. Then I threw her back into the river again.

With all my attention and focus, I stared at her. Waiting for the familiar muffle. After a few seconds the sound was back. I dived in and brought her out of the water.

While I was doing this, from the corner of my eye I saw Krikos shaking his head in pity.

As her head broke through the water and her lungs caught breath, she then screamed

" Please stop, I beg you, stop, I'll do anything!"

I looked at Krikos confused. And he just looks at me with a blank stare. Like I'm some kind of scum.

I tilted my head to the side and just shrugged it off. Some things in life you'll never understand.

I quickly asked her.

"Are you sure?"

She replied with

"Yes, anything just stop torturing me, please!"

I looked at her confused. And said with a wronged face.

"I was saving you, not torturing, I'm your hero."

She looked at me and just stared at me. The same look Krikos gave me just a moment ago.

They seemed to be in sync or something, anyways I told her all my desires like going into town meeting new people and getting out of the Deep Forest.

She looked at me for a moment confused, then said.

"That's it?!"

"I was tortured for just that?!"

I asked her to calm down and listen to reason, because she was freaking out.

She went hysterical for a moment. I told her if she didn't calm down I would throw her back into the river.

I guess she didn't hear my words, from all of her screaming. So I just grabbed her and lifted her into the air. Krikos just shakes his head side to side again. Then flies away.

She looked confused and asked.

"Ehat are you doing? stop please stop. You said you would stop, why is this happening again?!"

Since she didn't listen and was still going crazy I just threw her in the river.

After a few seconds of bubbles and muffled screaming I brought her back to the campfire.

After she calmed down and shivered from the cold water. I untied her and let her loose.

She appreciated the freedom for a few moments, and then jumped at me.

I stuck her with the side of my spear leaving a bump on her head. After she recovered from the dizziness she jumped at me again.

So I stuck her two times. Again after she recovered, she jumped at me. So I had enough and stuck her until she begged me to stop.

Her face looked like a red swollen marshmallow. Since I dipped her into the river water most of the dirt had cleared off.

The rest of her skin was silky smooth, white like pearls. She looked beautiful. Too bad she was crazy.

So she's taken off the list of potential candidate wives. Her eyes are grey like the storm clouds on a rainy day light grey, with a hint of dark grey.

She's probably a noble or something. Otherwise how could her skin be so white and delicate.

As she sat there in silence, rubbing her new bumps, I told her.

"If you want the bumps to go down and not swell so much, you should take a dip in the river it will make the swelling die down"

She screams.

"No, anything but that. Actually I like the bumps, so it's fine."

She was shivering even more from the cold or fear? But what was she afraid of?

Anyways like I said before she's crazy. who would like to look like an abused marshmallow. Anyways it was her choice so I didn't really care. Maybe she had a weird fetish or something.

Anyways, I spend my days learning more about this world from. My new friend.
