Camilla looked down at her dress.
"I know," She replied softly. She shrugged her small shoulders slightly. "I thought I could endure it. I wanted to look proper for the palace. But it turns out I couldn't."
Damon reached out and gently touched her arm.
"Don't do things that you aren't comfortable with," Damon spoke. His voice was completely serious. "Not for the royal court, and not for me. Your comfort is more important than their rules."
Camilla looked at his face. She felt a very warm flutter in her chest. He was truly a very good, protective man.
Camilla nodded her head, accepting his words.
Then, her mind quickly shifted back to the reality of the day. She needed to change the situation and take control of the battlefield before the battle even started.
Camilla spoke. Her voice became very calm.
"Can you tell the driver to take the secondary road to the palace?" Camilla asked directly, looking right into his eyes.
