Damon raised his hand gently, gesturing for Kade to relax.
"It's fine," Damon assured him smoothly, making his voice as calm and supportive as possible. "Go ahead. I am just asking a question."
Kade swallowed hard. He took a deep breath to steady his nerves. He looked down at the floor of the tent.
Kade nodded his head slowly. The pink blush on his cheeks deepened slightly.
"Yes," Kade confessed softly, feeling very shy. "Yes, I have a woman in my heart."
Damon watched the loyal soldier blush.
Damon thought to himself, feeling a strange sense of relief.
"I can ask him for advice," Damon reasoned internally. "If he loves a woman, he must know how to apologize to one. He must know what makes them happy."
Damon leaned forward, resting his forearms on the desk. He looked directly into Kade's eyes, treating the conversation with the exact same seriousness as a military strategy meeting.
He spoke to Kade, his voice low and incredibly earnest.
