"What is he going to do about it?" Camilla asked herself in her mind, completely dismissing his invisible protests. "He cannot run away. His leg is broken. He is stuck in that chair."
She slowly moved her eyes away from his face and looked toward the fireplace. She looked at the young, ordinary-looking guard standing there.
"And Kade over there," Camilla thought, returning her gaze to Damon. "Kade is way too loyal to stab a woman just for kissing her own husband. He would just stand there and watch like a confused statue. No one is going to stop me."
Damon felt his breath catch in his throat. She had analyzed the battlefield perfectly. She knew exactly what his weaknesses were. She knew his men would not attack her for a simple kiss. She had cornered him with perfect military precision.
"Yes," Camilla decided finally. "I think I will kiss him. Just one quick bite to see what the Tyrant General tastes like before I throw him away forever."
